1
ותב מלאכא דממליל עמי ואעירני כגברא דמתער משנתיה:
mshnthyh dmther kgbra waeyrny emy dmmlyl mlaka wthb
The angel who talked with me came again and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep.

ואמר לי מה את חזי ואמרית חזיתי והא מנרתא דדהבא כלה וגולתה על רישא ושבעא בוצינהא דעלה שבעא ושבעא דמריקין מנהון משחא לבוציניא דעל רישה:
ryshh del lbwtsynya mshkha mnhwn dmryqyn wshbea shbea delh bwtsynha wshbea rysha el wgwlthh klh ddhba mnrtha wha khzythy wamryth khzy ath mh ly wamr
He said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I have seen, and behold, a lamp stand all of gold, with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it; there are seven pipes to each of the lamps which are on the top of it;

ותרתין זיתין דעלה חד מימין גולתא וחד על סמלתה:
smlthh el wkhd gwltha mymyn khd delh zythyn wthrthyn
and two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl, and the other on the left side of it.”

ואתיבית ואמרית למלאכא דמליל עמי למימר מה אלין רבוני:
rbwny alyn mh lmymr emy dmlyl lmlaka wamryth wathybyth
I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?”

ואתיב מלאכא דמליל עמי ואמר לי הלא ידעתא מן אינון אלין ואמרית לי רבוני:
rbwny ly wamryth alyn aynwn mn ydetha hla ly wamr emy dmlyl mlaka wathyb
Then the angel who talked with me answered me, “Don’t you know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.”

ואתיב ואמר לי למימר דין פתגמא דיי עם זרבבל למימר לא בחילא ולא בגבורא אלהין במימרי אמר יי צבאות:
tsbawth yy amr bmymry alhyn bgbwra wla bkhyla la lmymr zrbbl em dyy pthgma dyn lmymr ly wamr wathyb
Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, “This is Yahweh’s word to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says Yahweh of Armies.

מה את חשיבא מלכותא טפשתא קדם זרבבל הלא כמשרא ויגלי ית משיחיה דאמיר שמיה מלקדמין וישלוט בכל מלכותא:
mlkwtha bkl wyshlwT mlqdmyn shmyh damyr mshykhyh yth wygly kmshra hla zrbbl qdm Tpshtha mlkwtha khshyba ath mh
Who are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you are a plain; and he will bring out the capstone with shouts of ‘Grace, grace, to it!’”

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ידי זרבבל שריאה למבני ביתא הדין וידוהי ישכללוניה ותידעון ארי יי צבאות שלחני לאתנבאה לכון:
lkwn lathnbah shlkhny tsbawth yy ary wthydewn yshkllwnyh wydwhy hdyn bytha lmbny shryah zrbbl ydy
“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house. His hands shall also finish it; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

ארי מן הוא דכי דבסר יומא דין על בנינא דהוא זעיר הלא יתוב ויחדי כד יחזי ית אבן משקולתא בידא דזרבבל שבעא נדבכין כאלין קדם יי גלן עובדי בני אנשא בכל ארעא:
area bkl ansha bny ewbdy gln yy qdm kalyn ndbkyn shbea dzrbbl byda mshqwltha abn yth ykhzy kd wykhdy ythwb hla zeyr dhwa bnyna el dyn ywma dbsr dky hwa mn ary
Indeed, who despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are Yahweh’s eyes, which run back and forth through the whole earth.”

ואתיבית ואמרית ליה מא תרין זיתיא האלין על ימין מנרתא ועל סמלא:
smla wel mnrtha ymyn el halyn zythya thryn ma lyh wamryth wathybyth
Then I asked him, “What are these two olive trees on the right side of the lamp stand and on the left side of it?”

ואתיבית תנינות ואמרית ליה מא תרין שובלי זיתיא דביד תרין אסקריטון דדהב דמריקין מנהון משחא לבוציני דהבא:
dhba lbwtsyny mshkha mnhwn dmryqyn ddhb asqryTwn thryn dbyd zythya shwbly thryn ma lyh wamryth thnynwth wathybyth
I asked him the second time, “What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts that pour the golden oil out of themselves?”

ואמר לי למימר הלא ידעת מן אלין ואמרית לא רבוני:
rbwny la wamryth alyn mn ydeth hla lmymr ly wamr
He answered me, “Don’t you know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.”
