ܡܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܢܐܡܪ ܢܩܘܐ ܒܗ ܒܚܛܝܬܐ ܕܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܬܬܝܬܪ
mn' hkyl n'mr nqw' bh bkhTyth' dTybwth' ththythr
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

ܚܣ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܝܬܢ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܚܐ ܒܗ ܬܘܒ
khs 'ylyn gyr dmythn lkhTyth' 'ykn' nkh' bh thwb
May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?

ܐܘ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܕܢ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܡܘܬܗ ܗܘ ܥܡܕܢ
'w l' ydeyn 'nthwn d'ylyn demdn byshwe mshykh' bmwthh hw emdn
Or don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

ܐܬܩܒܪܢ ܥܡܗ ܒܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܩܡ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܒܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܒܚܝܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܢܗܠܟ
'thqbrn emh bmemwdyth' lmwth' d'ykn' dqm yshwe mshykh' mn byth myth' bthshbwkhth' d'bwhy hkn' 'p khnn bkhy' khdth' nhlk
We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܟܚܕ ܐܬܢܨܒܢ ܥܡܗ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܡܘܬܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܒܩܝܡܬܗ ܢܗܘܐ
'n gyr 'kkhd 'thntsbn emh bdmwth' dmwthh hkn' 'p bqymthh nhw'
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܒܪܢܫܢ ܥܬܝܩܐ ܐܙܕܩܦ ܥܡܗ ܕܢܬܒܛܠ ܦܓܪܐ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ ܕܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܫܡܫ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ
ydeynn gyr dbrnshn ethyq' 'zdqp emh dnthbTl pgr' dkhTyth' dthwb l' nshmsh lkhTyth'
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

ܐܝܢܐ ܕܡܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܚܪܪ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ

For he who has died has been freed from sin.

ܐܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܡܝܬܢ ܥܡ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܢܗܝܡܢ ܕܥܡܗ ܥܡ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܢܚܐ
'n hkyl mythn em mshykh' nhymn demh em mshykh' nkh'
But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܩܡ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܡܐܬ ܘܡܘܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܬܠܛ ܒܗ
ydeynn gyr dmshykh' qm mn byth myth' wthwb l' m'th wmwth' l' mshthlT bh
knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!

ܕܡܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܡܝܬ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܘܕܚܝ ܚܝ ܗܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ
dmyth gyr lkhTyth' hw myth khd' zbn wdkhy khy hw l'lh'
For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܚܫܘܒܘ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܕܡܝܬܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܚܝܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
hkn' 'p 'nthwn khshwbw npshkwn dmyth' 'nthwn lkhTyth' wkhy' 'nthwn l'lh' bmrn yshwe mshykh'
Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܡܠܟ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܒܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܡܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܬܫܬܡܥܘܢ ܠܪܓܝܓܬܗ
l' hkyl thmlk khTyth' bpgrkwn myth' 'yk dthshthmewn lrgygthh
Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

ܘܐܦ ܠܐ ܬܛܝܒܘܢ ܗܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܙܝܢܐ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܛܝܒܘ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܡܢ ܡܝܬܐ ܚܝܝܬܘܢ ܘܗܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܙܝܢܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
w'p l' thTybwn hdmykwn zyn' dewl' lkhTyth' 'l' Tybw npshkwn l'lh' 'yk 'nsh' dmn myth' khyythwn whdmykwn zyn' nhwwn lk'nwthh d'lh'
Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

ܘܚܛܝܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܬܠܛܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܬܝܟܘܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܐܠܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ
wkhTyth' l' mshthlT' elykwn l' gyr 'ythykwn thkhyth nmws' 'l' thkhyth Tybwth'
For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

ܡܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܢܚܛܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܐܠܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܚܣ
mn' hkyl nkhT' dl' hwyn thkhyth nmws' 'l' thkhyth Tybwth' khs
What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be!

ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܠܡܢ ܕܡܛܝܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܕܬܫܬܡܥܘܢ ܠܗ ܠܥܒܕܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܗܘ ܕܡܫܬܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ ܐܢ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܐܢ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܐܕܢܐ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܐ
l' ydeyn 'nthwn dlmn dmTybyn 'nthwn npshkwn dthshthmewn lh lebdwth' dylh 'nthwn ebd' dhw dmshthmeyn 'nthwn lh 'n lkhTyth' w'n lmshme 'dn' dk'nwth'
Don’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

ܛܝܒܘ ܕܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܐܫܬܡܥܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܠܒܐ ܠܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܐܫܬܠܡܬܘܢ ܠܗ
Tybw dyn l'lh' debd' hwythwn dkhTyth' w'shthmethwn mn lb' ldmwth' dywlpn' d'shthlmthwn lh
But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.

ܘܟܕ ܐܬܚܪܪܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܐܫܬܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܐ
wkd 'thkhrrthwn mn khTyth' 'shthebdthwn lk'nwth'
Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.

ܐܝܟ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܟܪܝܗܘܬܐ ܕܒܣܪܟܘܢ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܛܝܒܬܘܢ ܗܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܠܥܒܕܘܬܐ ܕܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܘܕܥܘܠܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܗܫܐ ܛܝܒܘ ܗܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܠܥܒܕܘܬܐ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܘܕܩܕܝܫܘܬܐ
'yk dbyth bnynsh' 'mr 'n' mTl kryhwth' dbsrkwn d'ykn' dTybthwn hdmykwn lebdwth' dTnpwth' wdewl' hkn' 'p hsh' Tybw hdmykwn lebdwth' dk'nwth' wdqdyshwth'
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.

ܟܕ ܥܒܕܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ ܡܚܪܪܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܐ

For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

ܘܡܢܐ ܐܕܫܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܒܗܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗ ܚܪܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܡܘܬܐ
wmn' 'dsh' 'yth hw' lkwn hydyn 'yn' dywmn' bhthyn 'nthwn bh khrthh gyr 'ythyh mwth'
What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

ܘܗܫܐ ܕܐܬܚܪܪܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܦܐܪܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܚܪܬܗܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
whsh' d'thkhrrthwn mn khTyth' whwythwn ebd' l'lh' 'yth lkwn p'r' qdysh' dkhrthhwn khy' dlelm
But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life.

ܬܐܓܘܪܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ ܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܡܘܗܒܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
