ܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܗܟܝܠ ܝܬܝܪܘܬܗ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܐܘ ܡܢܐ ܝܘܬܪܢܗ ܕܓܙܘܪܬܐ
mn' hy hkyl ythyrwthh dyhwdy' 'w mn' ywthrnh dgzwrth'
Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?

ܣܓܝ ܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܕܐܬܗܝܡܢ ܡܠܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ
sgy bkl mdm lwqdm d'thhymn mlwhy d'lh'
Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.

ܐܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܒܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܛܠܘ
'n mnhwn gyr l' hymnw dlm' bdl' hymnw hymnwthh d'lh' bTlw
For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?

ܚܣ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܟܠ ܒܪܢܫ ܕܓܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܟܐܝܢ ܒܡܠܝܟ ܘܬܙܟܐ ܟܕ ܕܝܢܝܢ ܠܟ
khs 'ythwhy gyr 'lh' shryr' wkl brnsh dgl 'ykn' dkthyb dthhw' k'yn bmlyk wthzk' kd dynyn lk
May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written,
“That you might be justified in your words,
and might prevail when you come into judgment.”

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܘܠܢ ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܩܝܡ ܡܢܐ ܢܐܡܪ ܠܡܐ ܥܘܠ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܡܝܬܐ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܐ
'n dyn ewln k'nwthh d'lh' mqym mn' n'mr lm' ewl hw 'lh' dmyth' rwgzh 'yk brnsh' hw mmll 'n'
But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.

ܚܣ ܘܐܢ ܠܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܕܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ
khs w'n l' 'ykn' ndwn 'lh' lelm'
May it never be! For then how will God judge the world?

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܫܪܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܝܬܪ ܒܕܓܠܘܬܝ ܠܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܝܠܗ ܠܡܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܛܝܐ ܡܬܬܕܝܢ ܐܢܐ
'n gyr shrrh d'lh' 'thythr bdglwthy lthshbwkhthh dylh lmn' hkyl 'n' 'yk khTy' mththdyn 'n'
For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

ܐܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܓܕܦܝܢ ܥܠܝܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܡܪܝܢܢ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܕܢܐܬܝܢ ܛܒܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܕܝܢܗܘܢ ܢܛܝܪ ܗܘ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܐ
'w dlm' 'yk dmgdpyn elyn w'mryn d'mrynn dnebd byshth' dn'thyn Tbth' hnwn ddynhwn nTyr hw lk'nwth'
Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let us do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.

ܡܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܚܝܕܝܢܢ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܕܩܕܡܢ ܦܣܩܢ ܥܠ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܕܬܚܝܬ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ
mn' hkyl 'khydynn ythyr' dqdmn psqn el yhwdy' wel 'rmy' dthkhyth khTyth' 'nwn klhwn
What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.

ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܠܝܬ ܟܐܢܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܚܕ
'yk dkthyb dlyth k'n' 'pl' khd
As it is written,
“There is no one righteous;
no, not one.

ܘܠܐ ܕܡܣܬܟܠ ܘܠܐ ܕܒܥܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ
wl' dmsthkl wl' dbe' l'lh'
There is no one who understands.
There is no one who seeks after God.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܣܛܘ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܘܐܣܬܠܝܘ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܥܒܕ ܛܒܬܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܚܕ
klhwn sTw 'kkhd' w'sthlyw wlyth debd Tbth' 'pl' khd
They have all turned away.
They have together become unprofitable.
There is no one who does good,
no, not so much as one.”

ܩܒܪܐ ܦܬܝܚܐ ܓܓܪܬܗܘܢ ܘܠܫܢܝܗܘܢ ܢܟܘܠܬܢܝܢ ܘܚܡܬܐ ܕܐܣܦܣ ܬܚܝܬ ܣܦܘܬܗܘܢ
qbr' pthykh' ggrthhwn wlshnyhwn nkwlthnyn wkhmth' d'sps thkhyth spwthhwn
“Their throat is an open tomb.
With their tongues they have used deceit.”
“The poison of vipers is under their lips”;

ܦܘܡܗܘܢ ܡܠܐ ܠܘܛܬܐ ܘܡܪܬܐ
pwmhwn ml' lwTth' wmrth'
“whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

ܘܪܓܠܝܗܘܢ ܩܠܝܠܢ ܠܡܐܫܕ ܕܡܐ
wrglyhwn qlyln lm'shd dm'
“Their feet are swift to shed blood.

ܫܚܩܐ ܘܕܘܘܢܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܬܗܘܢ
shkhq' wdwwn' b'wrkhthhwn
Destruction and misery are in their ways.

ܘܕܚܠܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܝܬ ܩܕܡ ܥܝܢܝܗܘܢ
wdkhlthh d'lh' lyth qdm eynyhwn
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܢܡܘܣܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܕܟܠ ܦܘܡ ܢܣܬܟܪ ܘܥܠܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܢܬܚܝܒ ܠܐܠܗܐ
ydeynn dyn dmdm d'mr nmws' l'ylyn dbnmws' 'nwn 'mr dkl pwm nsthkr welm' klh nthkhyb l'lh'
Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܥܒܕܘܗܝ ܕܢܡܘܣܐ ܠܐ ܡܙܕܕܩ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܝܕܥܬ ܚܛܝܬܐ
mTl dmn ebdwhy dnmws' l' mzddq kl bsr qdmwhy mn nmws' gyr 'thydeth khTyth'
Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܓܠܝܬ ܘܡܣܗܕ ܥܠܝܗ ܗܘ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܘܢܒܝܐ
hsh' dyn dl' nmws' k'nwthh d'lh' 'thglyth wmshd elyh hw nmws' wnby'
But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;

ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܝܕ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܟܠܢܫ ܐܦ ܥܠ ܟܠܢܫ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܗ ܠܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܦܘܪܫܢܐ
k'nwthh dyn d'lh' byd hymnwth' hy dyshwe mshykh' lklnsh 'p el klnsh dmhymn bh lyth gyr pwrshn'
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܛܘ ܘܚܣܝܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
mTl dklhwn khTw wkhsyryn mn thshbwkhthh d'lh'
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

ܘܡܙܕܕܩܝܢ ܒܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܡܓܢ ܘܒܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
wmzddqyn bTybwth' mgn wbpwrqn' d'ythwhy byshwe mshykh'
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

ܗܢܐ ܕܩܕܡ ܣܡܗ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܘܣܝܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܕܡܗ ܡܛܠ ܚܛܗܝܢ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܚܛܝܢ
hn' dqdm smh 'lh' khwsy' bhymnwth' ddmh mTl khThyn dmn qdym khTyn
whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;

ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܡܓܪܬ ܪܘܚܗ ܠܬܚܘܝܬܐ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܒܙܒܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܟܐܢܐ ܘܢܙܕܩ ܒܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܠܡܢ ܕܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
b'thr' dyhb ln 'lh' bmgrth rwkhh lthkhwyth' dk'nwthh dbzbn' hn' dhw nhw' k'n' wnzdq bk'nwth' lmn dbhymnwth' hw dmrn yshwe mshykh'
to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time; that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.

ܐܝܟܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܫܘܒܗܪܐ ܐܬܒܛܠ ܠܗ ܒܐܝܢܐ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܠܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ
'ykw hkyl shwbhr' 'thbTl lh b'yn' nmws' debd' l' 'l' bnmws' dhymnwth'
Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

ܡܬܪܥܝܢܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܡܙܕܕܩ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܕܢܡܘܣܐ
mthreynn hkyl dbhymnwth' hw mzddq brnsh' wl' bebd' dnmws'
We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

ܠܡܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܗܘ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܘܕܥܡܡܐ ܠܐ ܐܝܢ ܐܦ ܕܥܡܡܐ
lm' gyr 'lh' dyhwdy' hw blkhwd wdemm' l' 'yn 'p demm'
Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܕ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܡܙܕܩ ܓܙܘܪܬܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܦ ܥܘܪܠܘܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ
mTl dkhd hw 'lh' dmzdq gzwrth' bhymnwth' 'p ewrlwth' bh bhymnwth'
since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.

ܠܡܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܗܘ ܡܒܛܠܝܢܢ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܚܣ ܐܠܐ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܗܘ ܡܩܝܡܝܢܢ
lm' hkyl nmws' hw mbTlynn bhymnwth' khs 'l' nmws' hw mqymynn
Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.
