Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,

ܕܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܡܠܟ ܒܝܕ ܢܒܝܘܗܝ ܒܟܬܒܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ

which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

ܥܠ ܒܪܗ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܝܠܕ ܒܒܣܪ ܡܢ ܙܪܥܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܕܘܝܕ

concerning his Son, who was born of the offspring of David according to the flesh,

ܕܒܗ ܢܣܒܢ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܫܠܝܚܘܬܐ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܫܬܡܥܘܢ ܠܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܫܡܗ

through whom we received grace and apostleship, for obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name’s sake;

to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

ܠܘܩܕܡ ܡܘܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܠܗܝ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܫܬܡܥܬ ܒܟܠܗ ܥܠܡܐ

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

ܣܗܕ ܗܘ ܠܝ ܓܝܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܗ ܡܫܡܫ ܐܢܐ ܒܪܘܚ ܒܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܕܠܐ ܫܠܘܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܡܬܕܟܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܨܠܘܬܝ

For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,

ܘܡܬܚܢܢ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܢ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܬܬܦܬܚ ܠܝ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܒܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ

requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܒ ܣܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܚܙܟܘܢ ܘܐܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܪܘܚ ܕܒܗ ܬܫܬܪܪܘܢ

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established;

ܘܐܟܚܕܐ ܢܬܒܝܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܘܕܝܠܝ

that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܙܒܢܝܢ ܣܓܝܐܢ ܨܒܝܬ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܐܬܟܠܝܬ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܫܐ ܕܐܦ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܐܕܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܡܐ

Now I don’t desire to have you unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.

ܝܘܢܝܐ ܘܒܪܒܪܝܐ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܘܣܟܠܐ ܕܠܟܠܢܫ ܚܝܒ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܟܪܙ

I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.

ܘܗܟܢܐ ܡܬܚܦܛ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܒܪܗܘܡܝ ܐܣܒܪ

So, as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܒܗ ܒܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܕܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܒܗ ܐܢ ܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܘܐܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܡܝܐ
l' gyr bhth 'n' bh b'wnglywn mTl dkhyl' hw d'lh' lkhy' dkl dmhymnyn bh 'n mn yhwdy' lwqdm w'n mn 'rmy'
For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܗ ܡܬܓܠܝܐ ܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܠܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܟܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܢܚܐ
k'nwthh gyr d'lh' bh mthgly' mn hymnwth' lhymnwth' 'yk dkthyb dk'n' mn hymnwth' nkh'
For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܝܥܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܓܠܝܐ ܗܝ ܒܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܓܝܪ ܓܠܗ ܒܗܘܢ

because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.

ܟܣܝܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܬܪܡܝܬܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܠܒܪܝܬܗ ܒܣܘܟܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܝܢ ܘܚܝܠܗ ܘܐܠܗܘܬܗ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܦܩ ܒܪܘܚ

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse.

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܐܠܗܐ ܫܒܚܘܗܝ ܘܐܘܕܝܘ ܠܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܣܬܪܩܘ ܒܡܚܫܒܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܚܫܟ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܣܬܟܠ
mTl dydew l'lh' wl' 'yk dl'lh' shbkhwhy w'wdyw lh 'l' 'sthrqw bmkhshbthhwn w'thkhshk lbhwn dl' msthkl
Because, knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.

ܘܟܕ ܣܒܪܝܢ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܚܟܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܫܛܘ ܠܗܘܢ

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

ܘܚܠܦܘ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܚܒܠ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܨܠܡܐ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܡܬܚܒܠ ܘܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܦܪܚܬܐ ܘܕܐܪܒܥܬ ܪܓܠܝܗ ܘܕܪܚܫܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ
wkhlpw thshbwkhthh d'lh' dl' mthkhbl bdmwth' dtslm' dbrnsh' dmthkhbl wbdmwth' dprkhth' wd'rbeth rglyh wdrkhsh' d're'
and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܪܓܝܓܬܐ ܛܡܐܬܐ ܕܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܢܨܥܪܘܢ ܦܓܪܝܗܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ
mTl hn' 'shlm 'nwn 'lh' lrgygth' Tm'th' dlbhwn dntserwn pgryhwn bhwn
Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves;

ܘܚܠܦܘ ܫܪܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܟܕܒܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܠܘ ܘܫܡܫܘ ܠܒܪܝܬܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܕܠܒܪܘܝܗܝܢ ܕܠܗ ܬܫܒܚܢ ܘܒܘܪܟܢ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ
wkhlpw shrrh d'lh' bkdbwth' wdkhlw wshmshw lbryth' Tb mn dlbrwyhyn dlh thshbkhn wbwrkn lelm elmyn 'myn
who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܟܐܒܐ ܕܨܥܪܐ ܢܩܒܬܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܚܠܦ ܚܫܚܬܐ ܕܟܝܢܗܝܢ ܘܒܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܡܟܢ ܐܬܚܫܚ
mTl hn' 'shlm 'nwn 'lh' lk'b' dtser' nqbthhwn gyr khlp khshkhth' dkynhyn wbmdm dl' mkn 'thkhshkh
For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.

ܘܬܘܒ ܐܦ ܕܟܪܝܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܫܒܩܘ ܚܫܚܬܐ ܕܟܝܢܐ ܕܢܩܒܬܐ ܘܐܫܬܪܚܘ ܒܪܓܬܐ ܚܕ ܥܠ ܚܕ ܘܕܟܪܐ ܥܠ ܕܟܪܐ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܘܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܕܙܕܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܛܥܝܘܬܗܘܢ ܒܩܢܘܡܗܘܢ ܩܒܠܘܗܝ

Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

ܘܐܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܕܢܘ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܢܕܥܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܡܕܥܐ ܕܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܘܠܐ

Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

ܘܪܛܢܐ ܘܡܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܘܣܢܝܐܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܨܥܪܢܐ ܚܬܝܪܐ ܫܒܗܪܢܐ ܡܫܟܚܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܣܝܪܝ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܕܠܐܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܛܦܝܣܝܢ

backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

ܘܕܩܝܡܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܚܘܒܐ ܘܠܐ ܫܝܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܪܚܡܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ

without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܟܕ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܕܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܝܟ ܗܠܝܢ ܣܥܪܝܢ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܡܚܝܒ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܗܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܡܫܬܘܬܦܝܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ
'ylyn dkd ydeyn dynh d'lh' dl'ylyn d'yk hlyn seryn lmwth' mkhyb l' hw' blkhwd ebdyn lhyn 'l' 'p mshthwthpyn l'ylyn dhlyn ebdyn
who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
