ܟܠ ܢܦܫ ܠܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܪܒܘܬܐ ܬܫܬܥܒܕ ܠܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܦܩܝܕܝܢ
pqydyn hw 'lh' mn d'ythyhwn shwlTn' w'ylyn hw 'lh' mn hw' dl' shwlTn' gyr lyth thshthebd drbwth' lshwlTn' npsh kl
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

ܡܢ ܕܩܐܡ ܗܟܝܠ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܩܐܡ ܘܗܠܝܢ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܠܘܩܒܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢܐ ܢܣܒܘܢ
nsbwn dyn' lwqblhwn dqymyn whlyn q'm d'lh' pwqdn' lwqbl shwlTn' lwqbl hkyl dq'm mn
Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.

ܕܝܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܗܘܘ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܠܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܒܝܫܐ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܬ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܡܢ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܟ ܡܢܗ
mnh lk thhw' wthshbwkhth' Tbth' ebd shwlTn' mn thdkhl dl' hkyl 'nth tsb' lbysh' 'l' Tb' lebd' dkhlth' hww l' gyr dyn'
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same,

ܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܟ ܠܛܒܬܐ ܘܐܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܬ ܕܚܠ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܣܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܐܣܝܪ ܠܣܦܣܪܐ ܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܬܒܘܥܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܒܕܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' debdyn l'ylyn drwgz' wthbwe' d'lh' gyr hw mshmshn' lspsr' 'syr sryq'yth gyr hw' l' dkhl 'nth ebd byshth' w'n lTbth' lk 'l' d'lh' gyr hw mshmshn'
for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

ܘܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܠܨܐ ܠܢ ܕܢܫܬܥܒܕ ܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܡܛܠ ܬܐܪܬܢ
th'rthn mTl 'p 'l' blkhwd rwgz' mTl l' dnshthebd ln 'lts' hn' wmTl
Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܦ ܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܝܗܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܠܝܗܝܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܩܝܡܝܢ
qymyn dhlyn delyhyn d'lh' gyr 'nwn mshmshn' 'nthwn yhbyn rsh' ksp 'p hn' mTl
For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, attending continually on this very thing.

ܦܪܘܥܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܠܟܠܢܫ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܚܝܒ ܠܗ ܠܡܢ ܕܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܘܠܡܢ ܕܡܟܣܐ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܠܡܢ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܠܡܢ ܕܐܝܩܪܐ ܐܝܩܪܐ
'yqr' d'yqr' wlmn dkhlth' ddkhlth' wlmn mks' dmks' wlmn rsh' ksp rsh' dksp lmn lh dmthkhyb 'yk lklnsh hkyl prwew
Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

ܘܠܐܢܫ ܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܬܚܘܒܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܠܡܚܒܘ ܡܢ ܕܡܚܒ ܓܝܪ ܚܒܪܗ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܡܠܝ
mly nmws' khbrh gyr dmkhb mn lmkhbw lkhd khd 'l' thkhwbwn l' mdm wl'nsh
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

ܘܐܦ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܡܪ ܕܠܐ ܬܓܘܪ ܘܠܐ ܬܩܛܘܠ ܘܠܐ ܬܓܢܘܒ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܓ ܘܐܢ ܐܝܬ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܒܗܕܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܡܫܬܠܡ ܕܬܪܚܡ ܠܩܪܝܒܟ ܐܝܟ ܢܦܫܟ
npshk 'yk lqrybk dthrkhm mshthlm mlth' bhd' 'khrn' pwqdn' 'yth w'n thrg wl' thgnwb wl' thqTwl wl' thgwr dl' d'mr gyr hy w'p
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”
and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

ܚܘܒܐ ܠܩܪܝܒܗ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܣܥܪ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܘܒܐ ܡܘܠܝܗ ܗܘ ܕܢܡܘܣܐ
dnmws' hw mwlyh dkhwb' mTl ser l' byshth' lqrybh khwb'
Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

ܘܐܦ ܗܕܐ ܕܥܘ ܕܙܒܢܐ ܗܘ ܘܫܥܬܐ ܗܝ ܡܟܝܠ ܕܢܬܥܝܪ ܡܢ ܫܢܬܢ ܗܫܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܩܪܒܘ ܠܢ ܚܝܝܢ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܕܟܕ ܗܝܡܢܢ
hymnn dkd mn ythyr khyyn ln 'thqrbw gyr hw hsh' shnthn mn dntheyr mkyl hy wsheth' hw dzbn' dew hd' w'p
Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.

ܠܠܝܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܥܒܪ ܘܐܝܡܡܐ ܩܪܒ ܢܢܝܚ ܡܢܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܚܫܘܟܐ ܘܢܠܒܫ ܙܝܢܗ ܕܢܘܗܪܐ
dnwhr' zynh wnlbsh dkhshwk' ebd' hkyl mnn nnykh qrb w'ymm' ebr mkyl lly'
The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light.

ܘܐܝܟ ܕܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܒܐܣܟܡܐ ܢܗܠܟ ܠܐ ܒܙܡܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܪܘܝܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܡܕܡܟܐ ܛܢܦܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܚܣܡܐ ܘܒܚܪܝܢܐ
wbkhryn' bkhsm' wl' Tnp' bmdmk' wl' brwywth' wl' bzmr' l' nhlk b'skm' db'ymm' w'yk
Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.
