ܐܚܝ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܠܒܝ ܘܒܥܘܬܝ ܕܠܘܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܠܦܝܗܘܢ ܕܢܚܘܢ
'khy tsbyn' dlby wbewthy dlwth 'lh' khlpyhwn dnkhwn
Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved.

ܡܣܗܕ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܕܛܢܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܘ ܒܝܕܥܬܐ
mshd 'n' gyr elyhwn dTnn' d'lh' 'yth bhwn 'l' lw bydeth'
For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܐܠܐ ܒܥܘ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܕܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܢܩܝܡܘܢ ܘܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܥܒܕܘ
k'nwthh gyr d'lh' l' ydew 'l' bew dk'nwth' dnpshhwn nqymwn wmTl hn' lk'nwthh d'lh' l' 'shthebdw
For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

ܣܟܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܢܡܘܣܐ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܠܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܠܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ
skh gyr dnmws' mshykh' hw lk'nwth' lkl dmhymn
For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

ܡܘܫܐ ܓܝܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܟܬܒ ܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܕܒܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܡܢ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܢܚܐ ܒܗܝܢ
mwsh' gyr hkn' kthb k'nwth' dbnmws' dmn dnebd hlyn nkh' bhyn
For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, “The one who does them will live by them.”

ܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܒܠܒܟ ܕܡܢܘ ܣܠܩ ܠܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܚܬ ܠܡܫܝܚܐ
k'nwth' dyn dbhymnwth' hkn' 'mr' dl' th'mr blbk dmnw slq lshmy' w'khth lmshykh'
But the righteousness which is of faith says this, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down);

ܘܡܢܘ ܢܚܬ ܠܬܗܘܡܐ ܕܫܝܘܠ ܘܐܣܩ ܠܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ
wmnw nkhth lthhwm' dshywl w'sq lmshykh' mn byth myth'
or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)”

ܐܠܐ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܩܪܝܒ ܗܘ ܠܟ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܠܦܘܡܟ ܘܠܠܒܟ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܡܟܪܙܝܢܢ
'l' mn' 'mr qryb hw lk pthgm' lpwmk wllbk hd' hy mlth' dhymnwth' dmkrzynn
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is, the word of faith, which we preach:

ܘܐܢ ܬܘܕܐ ܒܦܘܡܟ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܬܗܝܡܢ ܒܠܒܟ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܩܝܡܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܬܚܐ

that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

ܠܒܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܗ ܡܙܕܕܩ ܘܦܘܡܐ ܕܡܘܕܐ ܒܗ ܚܝܐ

For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

ܐܡܪ ܓܝܪ ܟܬܒܐ ܕܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܗ ܠܐ ܢܒܗܬ
'mr gyr kthb' dkl dmhymn bh l' nbhth
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”

ܘܒܗܕܐ ܠܐ ܦܪܫ ܠܐ ܠܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܐܪܡܝܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܥܬܝܪ ܒܟܠ ܕܩܪܐ ܠܗ
wbhd' l' prsh l' lyhwdy' wl' l'rmy' khd hw gyr mry' dklhwn dethyr bkl dqr' lh
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.

ܟܠ ܓܝܪ ܕܢܩܪܐ ܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܚܐ
kl gyr dnqr' shmh dmry' nkh'
For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܢܩܪܘܢ ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܗ ܐܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܠܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܫܡܥܘܗܝ ܐܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܟܪܙܢܐ
'ykn' hkyl nqrwn l'yn' dl' hymnw bh 'w 'ykn' nhymnwn lhw dl' shmewhy 'w 'ykn' nshmewn dl' mkrzn'
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?

ܐܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܟܪܙܘܢ ܐܢ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܠܚܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܡܐ ܝܐܝܢ ܪܓܠܝܗܘܢ ܕܡܣܒܪܝ ܫܠܡܐ ܘܕܡܣܒܪܝ ܛܒܬܐ
'w 'ykn' nkrzwn 'n l' nshthlkhwn 'yk dkthyb dm' y'yn rglyhwn dmsbry shlm' wdmsbry Tbth'
And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!”

ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܫܬܡܥܘ ܠܣܒܪܬܐ ܕܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܐܫܥܝܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝ ܡܢܘ ܗܝܡܢ ܠܒܪܬ ܩܠܢ
'l' l' hw' klhwn 'shthmew lsbrth' d'wnglywn 'shey' gyr 'mr mry mnw hymn lbrth qln
But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

ܡܟܝܠ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܡܫܡܥ ܐܕܢܐ ܗܝ ܘܡܫܡܥ ܐܕܢܐ ܡܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
mkyl hymnwth' mn mshme 'dn' hy wmshme 'dn' mn mlth' d'lh'
So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

ܐܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܗܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܪܥܐ ܢܦܩܬ ܒܪܬ ܩܠܗܘܢ ܘܒܣܘܦܝܗ ܕܬܒܝܠ ܡܠܝܗܘܢ
'l' 'mr 'n' dlm' l' shmew wh' bklh 're' npqth brth qlhwn wbswpyh dthbyl mlyhwn
But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly,
“Their sound went out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”

ܐܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܡܘܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܛܢܟܘܢ ܒܥܡ ܕܠܐ ܥܡ ܘܒܥܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܛܦܝܣ ܐܪܓܙܟܘܢ
'l' 'mr 'n' dlm' l' yde 'ysryl qdmy' mwsh' hkn' 'mr 'Tnkwn bem dl' em wbem' dl' mthTpys 'rgzkwn
But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says,
“I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation,
with a nation void of understanding I will make you angry.”

ܐܫܥܝܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܚ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܐܬܚܙܝܬ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܒܥܐܘܢܝ ܘܐܫܬܟܚܬ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܠܝ ܠܐ ܫܐܠܘ
'shey' dyn 'mrkh w'mr d'thkhzyth l'ylyn dl' be'wny w'shthkkhth l'ylyn dely l' sh'lw
Isaiah is very bold, and says,
“I was found by those who didn’t seek me.
I was revealed to those who didn’t ask for me.”

ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܕܦܫܛܬ ܐܝܕܝ ܝܘܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܠܘܬ ܥܡܐ ܕܡܬܚܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܛܦܝܣ
l'ysryl dyn 'mr dpshTth 'ydy ywm' klh lwth em' dmthkhr' wl' mthTpys
But as to Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
