אלהא מרי פורענותא יי אלהא מרי פורענותא הופע:
hwpe pwrenwtha mry alha yy pwrenwtha mry alha
Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine out.

אתנטל דין ארעא אתיב גומלא בישא על גיותניא:
gywthnya el bysha gwmla athyb area dyn athnTl
Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.

עד אימתי רשיעיא יי עד אימתי רשיעיא יתבון בשלותא:
bshlwtha ythbwn rshyeya aymthy ed yy rshyeya aymthy ed
Yahweh, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?

יבועון וימללון גדופין אמרין מלין דקלנא כל עבדי שקר:
shqr ebdy kl dqlna mlyn amryn gdwpyn wymllwn ybwewn
They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast.

עמך יי ישופון ואחסנתך ימסכנון:
ymsknwn wakhsnthk yshwpwn yy emk
They break your people in pieces, Yahweh, and afflict your heritage.

ארמלתא וגיורא יקטלון ויתמי ירצחון:
yrtskhwn wythmy yqTlwn wgywra armltha
They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.

ואמרו לא יחמי יה ולא יתבין אלהא דיעקב:
dyeqb alha ythbyn wla yh ykhmy la wamrw
They say, “Yah will not see, neither will Jacob’s God consider.”

התבוננו דשטין בעמא וכסיליא אימתי תשכילון:
thshkylwn aymthy wksylya bema dshTyn hthbwnnw
Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

האפשר די נציב אודנא הלא שמיע אולפנא אין אפשר די ברא עינא ולא אסתכל באוריתא:
bawrytha asthkl wla eyna bra dy apshr ayn awlpna shmye hla awdna ntsyb dy hapshr
He who implanted the ear, won’t he hear? He who formed the eye, won’t he see?

האפשר דיהב אוריתא לעמיה וכד יחובון הלא יתוכחון הלא יי אליף לאדם קדמי מנדעא:
mndea qdmy ladm alyp yy hla ythwkkhwn hla ykhwbwn wkd lemyh awrytha dyhb hapshr
He who disciplines the nations, won’t he punish? He who teaches man knows.

קדם יי ידיען מחשבת בני נשא ארום הנון למא:
lma hnwn arwm nsha bny mkhshbth ydyen yy qdm
Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.
12
טב לגברא די תכסנניה יה ומן אוריתך תאלפניה:
thalpnyh awrythk wmn yh thksnnyh dy lgbra Tb
Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law,

לשדכא ליה מן יומי בישא עד דיתברי לרשיעיא שוחה:
shwkhh lrshyeya dythbry ed bysha ywmy mn lyh lshdka
that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

ארום לא ינטוש יי עמיה ואחסנתיה לא ישבוק:
yshbwq la wakhsnthyh emyh yy ynTwsh la arwm
For Yahweh won’t reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15
ארום עד צדקתא יתוב דינא ובתרוי יתפרקון כל תריצי לבא:
lba thrytsy kl ythprqwn wbthrwy dyna ythwb tsdqtha ed arwm
For judgment will return to righteousness. All the upright in heart shall follow it.

מן יקום לי לאגחא קרבא עם מבאשין מן יתעתד לי למנצי עם עבדי שקר:
shqr ebdy em lmntsy ly ythethd mn mbashyn em qrba lagkha ly yqwm mn
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?

אלולי יי סעיד לי כזער שרת בשתיקותא נפשי:
npshy bshthyqwtha shrth kzer ly seyd yy alwly
Unless Yahweh had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence.

אין אמרית אתמוטטא רגלי טובך יי יסעיד יתי:
ythy yseyd yy Twbk rgly athmwTTa amryth ayn
When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.
19
בסגעי מחשבתא בגוי ניחומתך יפרקנון נפשי:
npshy yprqnwn nykhwmthk bgwy mkhshbtha bsgey
In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.
20
האפשר דיתחבר עמך כורסי שקרא ברית לעותא היתעתד עלי קים:
qym ely hythethd lewtha bryth shqra kwrsy emk dythkhbr hapshr
Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?
21
יכנשון בישן על נפשא דצדיקא ואדמא זכי יחיבון דין דקטול:
dqTwl dyn ykhybwn zky wadma dtsdyqa npsha el byshn yknshwn
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22
ויהי יי לי לסעיד ואלהי לתקוף רוחצני:
rwkhtsny lthqwp walhy lseyd ly yy wyhy
But Yahweh has been my high tower, my God, the rock of my refuge.
