תושבחתא על ידי דאסף ברם טב לישראל אלהא לברירי לבא:
lba lbryry alha lyshral Tb brm dasp ydy el thwshbkhtha
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

ואנא כזעיר אתמוטטא רגלי כלמא דאזדעזעא אסתורי:
asthwry dazdezea klma rgly athmwTTa kzeyr wana
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.

ארום טננית במתלעביא בעדן די שלם רשיעיא אחמי:
akhmy rshyeya shlm dy bedn bmthlebya Tnnyth arwm
For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

ארום ליתיהון תוהין ומצטערין מטול יום מיתתהון אתבעין מחשבתהון ופטים ואלים לבהון:
lbhwn walym wpTym mkhshbthhwn athbeyn myththhwn ywm mTwl wmtsTeryn thwhyn lythyhwn arwm
For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.

בליעות גברין דמתעסקין באוריתא ליתיהון לעין ועם בני נשא צדיקי דסכלין יסורי לא מתכתשין:
mthkthshyn la yswry dsklyn tsdyqy nsha bny wem leyn lythyhwn bawrytha dmthesqyn gbryn blyewth
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.

לכך כן עטרתנון גיותנותא כלילא דמשוין ברישיהון היא מן חטוף דילהון:
dylhwn khTwp mn hya bryshyhwn dmshwyn klyla gywthnwtha eTrthnwn kn lkk
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.

שנא מן שומנא פרצופיהון עברו חוטביהון חפורת לבא:
lba khpwrth khwTbyhwn ebrw prtswpyhwn shwmna mn shna
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

יתמקמקון מן פטמא וימללון לאבאשא ולטלומא מן רום לבהון ימללון:
ymllwn lbhwn rwm mn wlTlwma labasha wymllwn pTma mn ythmqmqwn
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

שויאו בקדישי שמיא פומהון ולישנהון מצלהבה בקדישי ארעא:
area bqdyshy mtslhbh wlyshnhwn pwmhwn shmya bqdyshy shwyaw
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

בכן תבו על עמיא דיי לאלקיותהון וימחונון במרזופין ודמעין סגיעין מחתין להון:
lhwn mkhthyn sgyeyn wdmeyn bmrzwpyn wymkhwnwn lalqywthhwn dyy emya el thbw bkn
Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.

ויימרון הכדין ידע אלהא ואית מנדעא בעלאה:
belah mndea wayth alha yde hkdyn wyymrwn
They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

הא אלין רשיעיא דיתבין בשלותא בעלמא הדין אדביקו נכסין קנו חילא:
khyla qnw nksyn adbyqw hdyn belma bshlwtha dythbyn rshyeya alyn ha
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.

ברם לסריקותא זכות לבבי ושזבית בברירו ידי:
ydy bbryrw wshzbyth lbby zkwth lsryqwtha brm
Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,

והויתי כתיש כל יומא ומכסנותי לצפרירי:
ltspryry wmksnwthy ywma kl kthysh whwythy
For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning.

אין אמרית אשתעי דכמתהון הא על דר בניך ארשעית:
arsheyth bnyk dr el ha dkmthhwn ashthey amryth ayn
If I had said, “I will speak thus”, behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
16
וחשיבית למדע ית דא לעות הוא בעיני:
beyny hwa lewth da yth lmde wkhshybyth
When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—

עד זמן פורקנא דאיתי לות מקדשי אלהא אתבין לסופהון:
lswphwn athbyn alha mqdshy lwth daythy pwrqna zmn ed
until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

ברם בקבליא שויתא להון דמיתנון לשהותא:
lshhwtha dmythnwn lhwn shwytha bqblya brm
Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
19
הכדין הוו לצדו כשעתא כלו אשתיצון מן אתרגשין:
athrgshyn mn ashthytswn klw kshetha ltsdw hww hkdyn
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
20
היך חלמא מן גבר דמתער יי ליום דינא רבא באתער יתהון מן בית קבורתהון ברגז דמותהון תבסר:
thbsr dmwthhwn brgz qbwrthhwn byth mn ythhwn bather rba dyna lywm yy dmther gbr mn khlma hyk
As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

ארום יחוש לבי וכוליתי בערן כאשא:
kasha bern wkwlythy lby ykhwsh arwm
For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
22
ואנא שטיא לא אידע היך בעירי אתחשבית גבך:
gbk athkhshbyth beyry hyk ayde la shTya wana
I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
23
ואנא תדירא עמך אוחדתא ביד ימיני:
ymyny byd awkhdtha emk thdyra wana
Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
24
במלכתך תדברנני ובתר דשלים איקרא דאמרתא עלי לאיתאה תסבנני:
thsbnny laythah ely damrtha ayqra dshlym wbthr thdbrnny bmlkthk
You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25
מן כותך דילי בשמיא אלא את ועמך חברא לא צביתי בארעא:
barea tsbythy la khbra wemk ath ala bshmya dyly kwthk mn
Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.

אשתיצא גושמי ולבבי תקיפא דבחין לבבי וחולקי אלהא לעלמא:
lelma alha wkhwlqy lbby dbkhyn thqypa wlbby gwshmy ashthytsa
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27
ארום הא רשיעיא די מתרחקין מנך יאבדון שיציתא כל דטעי מן בתר דחלתך:
dkhlthk bthr mn dTey kl shytsytha yabdwn mnk mthrkhqyn dy rshyeya ha arwm
For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
