ܐܠܗܐ ܛܒ ܠܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܠܒܪ̈ܝܪܝ ܠܒܐ
'lh' Tb l'ysr'yl wlbryry lb'
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

ܘܐܢܐ ܥܕ ܩܠܝܠ ܡܨ̈ܛܠܝܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܪ̈ܓܠܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܡܬܐܫ̈ܕܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܗ̈ܠܟܬܝ
w'n' ed qlyl mtsTlyn hwy rgly w'yk l' mdm mth'shdn hwy hlkthy
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܢܬ ܒܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܟܕ ܚܙܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܫܠܡܐ ܠܪ̈ܫܝܥܐ

For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܣܟܐ ܠܡܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܗܝ ܫܛܝܘܬܗܘܢ
mTl dlyth sk' lmwthhwn wsgy'' hy shTywthhwn
For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.

ܒܥܡܠܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܠܝܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܥܡ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܢܓܕܝܢ
beml' d'nsh' lyth 'nwn wem bny 'nsh' l' mthngdyn
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܚܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܒܣܪܢܘܬܐ ܘܐܬܟܣܝ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܘܪܘܫܥܗܘܢ
mTl hn' 'khdth 'nwn mbsrnwth' w'thksy ewlhwn wrwshehwn
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.

ܘܢܦܩ ܐܝܟ ܬܪܒܐ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܘܥܒܕܘ ܐܝܟ ܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܕܠܒܐ
wnpq 'yk thrb' ewlhwn webdw 'yk threyth' dlb'
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

ܐܬܚܫܒܘ ܘܡܠܠܘ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܛܠܘܡܝܐ ܥܠ ܡܪܝܡܐ ܡܠܠܘ
'thkhshbw wmllw byshth' wTlwmy' el mrym' mllw
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

ܣܡܘ ܦܘܡܗܘܢ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܘܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܡܗܠܟ ܒܐܪܥܐ
smw pwmhwn bshmy' wlshnhwn mhlk b're'
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

ܡܛܘܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܥܡܝ ܠܗܪܟܐ ܘܡܠܝܐܝܬ ܢܫܟܚܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ
mTwl hn' nhpwk emy lhrk' wmly'yth nshkkhwn lhwn
Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.

ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܐܝܟܢ ܝܕܥ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܒܡܪܝܡܐ
wn'mrwn 'ykn yde 'lh' w'yth ydeth' bmrym'
They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

ܕܗܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܪ̈ܫܝܥܐ ܟܗܝܢܝܢ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܘܥܫܝܢܝܢ ܒܚܝܠܐ
dh' hlyn rshye' khynyn belm' weshynyn bkhyl'
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܝ ܕܟܝܬ ܠܒܝ ܘܐܫܝܓܬ ܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܒܕܟܝܘܬܐ
w'n' blkhwdy dkyth lby w'shygth 'ydy bdkywth'
Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,

ܘܗܘܝܬ ܠܡܚܘܬܐ ܟܠܗ ܝܘܡܐ ܘܡܟܣܢܘܬܝ ܒܨܦܪܐ

For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning.

ܐܢ ܐܡܪܬ ܕܐܥܒܕ ܐܟܘܬܗܘܢ
'n 'mrth d'ebd 'kwthhwn
If I had said, “I will speak thus”, behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

ܥܘܠܐ ܗܘ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ

When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—

ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܥܘܠ ܠܡܩܕܫܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܬܒܝܢ ܒܚܪܬܗܘܢ
edm' d'ewl lmqdshh d'lh' w'thbyn bkhrthhwn
until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

ܐܝܟ ܢܟܠܗܘܢ ܬܣܝܡ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܬܪܡܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܢܬܬܪܝܡܘܢ
'yk nklhwn thsym lhwn wthrm' 'nwn kd nththrymwn
Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.

ܐܝܟܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܬܡܗܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܣܦܘ ܘܓܡܪܘ ܡܢ ܕܠܘܚܝܐ
'ykn hww lthmh' mn shly' spw wgmrw mn dlwkhy'
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

ܐܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܡܬܬܥܝܪ ܡܐ ܕܚܙܐ ܚܠܡܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܨܠܡܗܘܢ ܬܫܘܛ
'yk hw dmththeyr m' dkhz' khlm' mry' bqryth' tslmhwn thshwT
As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

ܘܐܢܐ ܐܬܕܠܚ ܠܒܝ ܘܟܘ̈ܠܝܬܝ ܐܫ̈ܬܢܝ
w'n' 'thdlkh lby wkwlythy 'shthny
For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܪܝܪ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܘܒܥܝܪܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܥܡܟ
w'n' bryr hwyth wl' yde wbeyr' hwyth emk
I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.

ܕܐܚܕܬ ܐܝܕܝ ܕܝܡܝܢܐ
d'khdth 'ydy dymyn'
Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.

ܒܬܪܥܝܬܟ ܒܝܐܝܢܝ ܘܒܬܪ ܐܝܩܪܟ ܕܒܪܝܢܝ
bthreythk by'yny wbthr 'yqrk dbryny
You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

ܡܢܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܥܡܟ ܘܡܢܐ ܨܒܝܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ
mn' 'yth bshmy' emk wmn' tsbyth b're'
Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.

ܘܓܡܪ ܠܒܝ ܘܒܣܪܝ ܘܥܘܫܢܗ ܕܠܒܝ ܡܢܬܝ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܗܝ ܠܥܠܡ
wgmr lby wbsry wewshnh dlby mnthy b'lh' hy lelm
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܪ̈ܚܝܩܝܟ ܢܐܒܕܘܢ ܘܬܘܒܕ ܠܟܘܠ ܕܛܥܝܢ ܡܢܟ ܠܥܠܡ
mTl dh' rkhyqyk n'bdwn wthwbd lkwl dTeyn mnk lelm
For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.

ܐܢܐ ܨܒܝܬ ܕܐܬܩܪܒ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܛܐܒ ܠܝ ܫܡܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܬܘܟܠܢܝ ܕܐܫܬܥܐ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܟ
'n' tsbyth d'thqrb l'lh' T'b ly shmk mry' thwklny d'shthe' klhyn thdmrthk
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
