ܦܪܘܩܝܢܝ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܛܘ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܢܦܫܐ
lnpsh' edm' my' dmTw mTl 'lh' prwqyny
I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

ܛܒܥܬ ܒܗܘܬܐ ܥܡܝܩܬܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܒܗ̇ ܒܝܬ ܩܝܡܐ ܥܠܬ ܠܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܨܡܪܬܐ ܛܒܥܬܢܝ
Tbethny wtsmrth' dmy' lewmq' elth qym' byth bh wlyth emyqth' bhwth' Tbeth
I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail looking for my God.

ܠܐܝܬ ܒܩܪ̈ܝ ܘܚܪܬ ܓܓܪܬܝ ܓ̈ܙܝ ܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܟܕ ܡܣܟܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܠܗܝ
l'lhy 'n' msk' kd eyny gzy ggrthy wkhrth bqry l'yth
Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I didn’t take away.

ܣܓܝܘ ܡܢ ܣܥܪܐ ܕܪܝܫܝ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܕܡܓܢ ܘܥܫܢܘ ܡܢ ܓܪ̈ܡܝ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܛܠܡܬ ܡܦܢܐ ܗܘܝܬ
hwyth mpn' Tlmth dl' mdm dshwqr' beldbby grmy mn weshnw dmgn beldbby dryshy ser' mn sgyw
God, you know my foolishness. My sins aren’t hidden from you.

ܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܣܟ̈ܠܘܬܝ ܘܚ̈ܛܗܝ ܡܢܟ ܠܐ ܐܬܟܣܝܘ
'thksyw l' mnk wkhThy sklwthy 'nth yde 'nth 'lh'
Don’t let those who wait for you be shamed through me, Lord Yahweh of Armies. Don’t let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Israel.

ܠܐ ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܒܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܣܒܪܝܢ ܒܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܚܦܪܘܢ ܒܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܠܟ ܐܠܗܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lhh lk dbeyn 'ylyn by nkhprwn wl' khylthn' 'lh' mry' bk dmsbryn 'ylyn by nbhthwn l'
Because for your sake, I have borne reproach. Shame has covered my face.

ܡܛܠܬܟ ܩܒܠܬ ܚܣܕܐ ܘܟܣܝܬ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܠܐ̈ܦܝ
l'py bhthth' wksyth khsd' qblth mTlthk
I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s children.

ܘܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܐ̈ܚܝ ܘܐܟܣܢܝܐ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܡܝ
'my lbny w'ksny' l'khy hwyth wnwkry'
For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܢܢܗ ܕܒܝܬܟ ܐܟܠܢܝ ܘܚܣܕܐ ܕܡܚܣ̈ܕܢܝܟ ܢܦܠ ܥܠܝ

When I wept and I fasted, that was to my reproach.

ܡܟܟܬ ܢܦܫܝ ܒܨܘܡܐ ܘܗܘܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܚܣܕܐ
lkhsd' lhwn whwyth btswm' npshy mkkth
When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.

ܥܒܕܬ ܠܒܘܫܝ ܣܩܐ ܘܗܘܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܬܠܐ
lmthl' lhwn whwyth sq' lbwshy ebdth
Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards.

ܘܪܢܘ ܒܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܘܪܢܘ ܒܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܬܝܢ ܫܟܪܐ
shkr' dshthyn 'ylyn by wrnw bthre' dythbyn 'ylyn by wrnw
But as for me, my prayer is to you, Yahweh, in an acceptable time. God, in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer me in the truth of your salvation.

ܘܐܢܐ ܨܠܝܬ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܡܩܒܠܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܝܒܘܬܟ ܥܢܝܢܝ ܘܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܟ
dpwrqnk wbswg'' enyny dTybwthk bswg'' 'lh' mqbl' bzbn' mry' qdmyk tslyth w'n'
Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.

ܦܨܢܝ ܡܢ ܣܝܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܛܒܥ ܘܐܬܦܨܐ ܡܢ ܣ̈ܢܐܝ ܘܡܢ ܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ
dmy' ewmq' wmn sn'y mn w'thpts' 'Tbe dl' syn' mn ptsny
Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.

ܕܠܐ ܬܛܒܥܢܝ ܨܡܪܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܠܥܢܝ ܗܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܐܚܘܕ ܥܠܝ ܒܐܪܐ ܦܘܡܗ̇
pwmh b'r' ely th'khwd wl' hwth' thbleny wl' dmy' tsmrth' thTbeny dl'
Answer me, Yahweh, for your loving kindness is good. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, turn to me.

ܥܢܝܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܛܝܒܘܬܟ ܘܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܝܟ ܐܬܦܢ ܥܠܝ
ely 'thpn drkhmyk wbswg'' Tybwthk hy dTb' mTl mry' enyny
Don’t hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily!

ܠܐ ܬܗܦܟ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܡܢ ܥܒܕܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܩܬ ܠܝ ܒܥܓܠ ܥܢܝܢܝ
enyny begl ly deqth mTl ebdk mn 'pyk thhpk l'
Draw near to my soul and redeem it. Ransom me because of my enemies.

ܩܪܒ ܢܦܫܝ ܠܦܘܪܩܢܟ ܡܛܠ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܦܪܘܩܝܢܝ
prwqyny beldbby mTl lpwrqnk npshy qrb
You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor. My adversaries are all before you.

ܐܢܬ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܚܣܕܝ ܘܒܗܬܬܝ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ
beldbby kwlhwn lwqbl wbhththy khsdy 'nth yde 'nth
Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; for comforters, but I found none.

ܐܣܐ ܬܒܪܗ ܕܠܒܝ ܘܥܨܘܒ ܣܟܝܬ ܠܡܢ ܕܬܟܪܐ ܠܗ ܘܠܝܬ ܘܠܡܒܝܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ
'shkkhth wl' wlmby'n' wlyth lh dthkr' lmn skyth wetswb dlby thbrh 's'
They also gave me poison for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.

ܝܗܒܘ ܒܡܐܟܘܠܬܝ ܡܪ̈ܪܐ ܘܠܨܗܝܝ ܚܠܐ ܐܫܩܝܘܢܝ
'shqywny khl' wltshyy mrr' bm'kwlthy yhbw
Let their table before them become a snare. May it become a retribution and a trap.

ܢܗܘܐ ܦܬܘܪܗܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ ܦܚܐ ܘܦܘܪܥܢܗܘܢ ܠܬܘܩܠܬܐ
lthwqlth' wpwrenhwn pkh' qdmyhwn pthwrhwn nhw'
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can’t see. Let their backs be continually bent.

ܢܚܫ̈ܟܢ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܚܙܘܢ ܘܚܨܗܘܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܟܦܝܦ
kpyp nhw' bklzbn wkhtshwn nkhzwn dl' eynyhwn nkhshkn
Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.

ܐܫܘܕ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܪܘܓܙܟ ܘܚܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܟ ܬܕܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn thdrk drwgzk wkhmth' rwgzk elyhwn 'shwd
Let their habitation be desolate. Let no one dwell in their tents.

ܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܡܥܡܪܗܘܢ ܚܪܒ ܘܒܡܫ̈ܟܢܝܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܕܥܡܪ
demr nhw' l' wbmshknyhwn khrb memrhwn byth nhw'
For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܡܢ ܕܐܢܬ ܡܚܝܬ ܪܕܦܘ ܘܐܘܣܦܘ ܥܠ ܟܐܒܗ ܕܩܛܝܠܐ
dqTyl' k'bh el w'wspw rdpw mkhyth d'nth dlmn mTl
Charge them with crime upon crime. Don’t let them come into your righteousness.

ܗܒ ܥܘܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܟ
bzdyqwthk nelwn dl' ewlhwn el ewl' hb
Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous.

ܢܬܥܛܘܢ ܡܢ ܣܦܪܟ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܥܡ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܝܟ ܠܐ ܢܬܟܬܒܘܢ
nthkthbwn l' zdyqyk wem dkhy' sprk mn ntheTwn
But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me.

ܘܐܢܐ ܡܣܟܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܡܟܐܒܐ ܦܘܪܩܢܟ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܕܪܢܝ
edrny 'lh' pwrqnk wmk'b' 'n' mskn' w'n'
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

ܐܫܒܚ ܫܡܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܘܐܘܪܒܝܘܗܝ ܒܬܘܕܝܬܐ
bthwdyth' w'wrbywhy bthshbwkhth' d'lh' shmh 'shbkh
It will please Yahweh better than an ox, or a bull that has horns and hoofs.

ܐܫܦܪ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܡ̈ܦܛܡܐ ܩܪ̈ܢܢܐ ܘܦܪ̈ܣܢܐ
wprsn' qrnn' mpTm' thwr' mn lmry' 'shpr
The humble have seen it, and are glad. You who seek after God, let your heart live.

ܚܙܘ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܚܕܘ ܘܢܚܐ ܠܒܟܘܢ
lbkwn wnkh' wkhdw mskn' khzw
For Yahweh hears the needy, and doesn’t despise his captive people.

ܡܛܠ ܕܫܡܥ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܠܐܣܝܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܫܐܛ
sh'T l' wl'syrwhy lmskn' mry' dshme mTl
Let heaven and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moves therein!

ܢܫܒܚܘܢܝܗܝ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܘܝܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܟܠ ܕܪܚܫ ܒܗܘܢ
bhwn drkhsh wkl wymm' w're' shmy' nshbkhwnyhy
For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah. They shall settle there, and own it.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܦܪܩ ܠܨܗܝܘܢ ܘܡܒܢܐ ܠܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܢܐܪܬܘܢܗ̇
wn'rthwnh ebdwhy bh dnthbwn dyhwd' lqwry' wmbn' ltshywn prq d'lh' mTl
The children also of his servants shall inherit it. Those who love his name shall dwell therein.
