לשבחא על מטרת בית מקדשא על פמיה דידותון תשבחתא לדוד:
ldwd thshbkhtha dydwthwn pmyh el mqdsha byth mTrth el lshbkha
I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”

אמרית אנטור אורחי מלמחטי בלישני אנטור לפומי זממא בדאית רשיעא לקבלי:
lqbly rshyea bdayth zmma lpwmy anTwr blyshny mlmkhTy awrkhy anTwr amryth
I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred.

אתאלמית שתקית בטלית מן פתגמי אוריתא מטול היכנא כיבי ממרטיט:
mmrTyT kyby hykna mTwl awrytha pthgmy mn bTlyth shthqyth athalmyth
My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue:

רתח בי בגושמי ברינני תדלק אשתא מללית בלישני:
blyshny mllyth ashtha thdlq brynny bgwshmy by rthkh
“Yahweh, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.

אודע יי לי אורח סופי ומשחתא דיומי מנא אינון אידע אימתי אפסוק מן עלמא:
elma mn apswq aymthy ayde aynwn mna dywmy wmshkhtha swpy awrkh ly yy awde
Behold, you have made my days hand widths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah.

קלילין סדרתא יומי וגושמי כלמא לקבלך ברם כולא ללמא חשיבין ברם כולהון צדיקיא קימין לחיי עלמא:
elma lkhyy qymyn tsdyqya kwlhwn brm khshybyn llma kwla brm lqblk klma wgwshmy ywmy sdrtha qlylyn
“Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather.

ברם בדיוקנא דיי יתהלך גברא ברם ללמא משתגשין כניש ולא חכים מטול מנא מן כנשנון:
knshnwn mn mna mTwl khkym wla knysh mshthgshyn llma brm gbra ythhlk dyy bdywqna brm
Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.

וכדון מנא סברית יי אוריכותי לותך היא:
hya lwthk awrykwthy yy sbryth mna wkdwn
Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don’t make me the reproach of the foolish.

מן כולהון מרדי פצי יתי חסודי סכלא לא תשוי עלי:
ely thshwy la skla khswdy ythy ptsy mrdy kwlhwn mn
I was mute. I didn’t open my mouth, because you did it.

אתאלמית ולא אפתח פומי מטול די אנת עבדת:
ebdth anth dy mTwl pwmy apthkh wla athalmyth
Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.

אעדי מעלי מכתשך ממחת גבורת ידך אנא שציתי:
shtsythy ana ydk gbwrth mmkhth mkthshk mely aedy
When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, you consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath.” Selah.

במכסנותא על חובא יתרדי בר נשא ומסית היך עמר דאתגרדם גושמיה ברם למא כל בר נשא לעלמא:
lelma nsha br kl lma brm gwshmyh dathgrdm emr hyk wmsyth nsha br ythrdy khwba el bmksnwtha
“Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.

קבל צלותי יי ובעותי אצית ולדמעתי לא תשתוק ארום היך גיורא אנא גבך תותבא היך כולהון אבהתי:
abhthy kwlhwn hyk thwthba gbk ana gywra hyk arwm thshthwq la wldmethy atsyth wbewthy yy tslwthy qbl
Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away and exist no more.”
