ܕܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܝܢܝ ܘܐܬܟܬܫ ܥܡ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܟܬܫܝܢ ܥܡܝ
emy dmthkthshyn 'ylyn em w'thkthsh dyny mry' dwn
Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.

ܐܚܘܕ ܙܝܢܐ ܘܣܟܪܐ ܘܩܘܡ ܒܥܘܕܪܢܝ
bewdrny wqwm wskr' zyn' 'khwd
Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.

ܫܡܘܛ ܣܦܣܝܪܐ ܘܐܒܪܩ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܪ̈ܕܘܦܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܢܦܫܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܗܘ ܦܪܘܩܟܝ
prwqky hw d'n' lnpshy w'mr rdwpy lwqbl w'brq spsyr' shmwT
Brandish the spear and block those who pursue me. Tell my soul, “I am your salvation.”

ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܘܢܚܦܪܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܠܢܦܫܝ ܢܗܦܟܘܢ ܠܒܣܬܪܗܘܢ ܘܢܚܦܪܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܬܚܫܒܘ ܥܠܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' ely d'thkhshbw 'ylyn wnkhprwn lbsthrhwn nhpkwn lnpshy dbeyn 'ylyn wnkhprwn nbhthwn
Let those who seek after my soul be disappointed and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.

ܢܗܘܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܚܝܚܐ ܩܕܡ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܡܠܐܟܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܪܕܘܦ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn nrdwp dmry' wml'kh rwkh' qdm dkhykh' 'yk nhwwn
Let them be as chaff before the wind, Yahweh’s angel driving them on.

ܬܚܫܟ ܐܘܪܚܗܘܢ ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܒܗ̇ ܡܫܪ̈ܘܥܝܬܐ ܘܡܠܐܟܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܢܪܕܘܦ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn nrdwp d'lh' wml'kh mshrweyth' bh wnhwyn 'wrkhhwn thkhshk
Let their way be dark and slippery, Yahweh’s angel pursuing them.

ܥܠ ܕܛܡܪܘ ܠܝ ܦܚ̈ܐ ܘܡܨܝܕܬܐ ܦܪܣܘ ܠܢܦܫܝ
lnpshy prsw wmtsydth' pkh' ly dTmrw el
For without cause they have hidden their net in a pit for me. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.

ܬܐܬܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܘܡܨܝܕܬܐ ܕܛܡܪܘ ܬܐܚܘܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܓܘܡܨܐ ܕܚܦܪܘ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܒܗ
bh nplwn dkhprw wgwmts' 'nwn th'khwd dTmrw wmtsydth' shly' mn byshth' elyhwn th'th'
Let destruction come on him unawares. Let his net that he has hidden catch himself. Let him fall into that destruction.

ܢܦܫܝ ܕܝܢ ܬܪܘܙ ܒܐܠܗܐ. ܘܬܬܒܣܡ ܒܦܘܪܩܢܗ
bpwrqnh wththbsm b'lh' thrwz dyn npshy
My soul shall be joyful in Yahweh. It shall rejoice in his salvation.

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܪ̈ܡܝ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢܘ ܐܟܘܬܟ ܕܡܦܨܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܒܝܫܐ ܡܢ ܒܥܠܕܒܒܗ ܘܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܠܒܝܫܐ ܡܢ ܡܢ ܕܚܛܦ ܠܗ ܒܩܛܝܪܐ
bqTyr' lh dkhTp mn mn wlbysh' wlmskn' beldbbh mn lbysh' 'nth dmpts' 'kwthk mnw mry' n'mrwn grmy wklhwn
All my bones shall say, “Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?”

ܩܡܘ ܣܗ̈ܕܐ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܗܘܝܬ ܫܐܠܘܢܝ
sh'lwny hwyth yde dl' wmdm dewl' shd' qmw
Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don’t know about.

ܦܪܥܘܢܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܐܘܒܕܘ ܢܦܫܝ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bny mn npshy w'wbdw Tbth' khlp byshth' prewny
They reward me evil for good, to the bereaving of my soul.

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܟܪܝܗܘܬܗܘܢ ܠܒܫܬ ܣܩܐ ܘܡܟܟܬ ܢܦܫܝ ܒܨܘܡܐ ܘܨܠܘܬܝ ܠܥܘܒܝ ܗܦܟܬ
hpkth lewby wtslwthy btswm' npshy wmkkth sq' lbshth bkryhwthhwn w'n'
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom.

ܐܝܟ ܪܚܡܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܚܐ ܡܗܠܟ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܐܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܝܬܒ ܒܐܒܠܐ ܐܬܕܘܝܬ
'thdwyth b'bl' dythb hw w'yk hwyth mhlk 'kh' w'yk rkhm' 'yk
I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.

ܒܚܫܝ ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܘܚܕܝܘ ܠܝ ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܥܠܝ ܢܘܓܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܬ
ydeth wl' nwgr' ely 'thknshw ly wkhdyw 'thknshw bkhshy
But in my adversity, they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I didn’t know it. They tore at me, and didn’t cease.

ܒܫܘܒܗܪܗܘܢ ܘܒܒܘܙܚܗܘܢ ܚܪܩܘ ܥܠܝ ܫ̈ܢܝܗܘܢ
shnyhwn ely khrqw wbbwzkhhwn bshwbhrhwn
Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed their teeth at me.

ܡܪܝ ܟܕܘ ܚܙܝܬ ܐܗܦܟ ܢܦܫܝ ܡܢ ܫܓܘܫܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܐܪ̈ܝܘܬܐ ܝܚܝܕܘܬܝ
ykhydwthy 'rywth' wmn shgwshyhwn mn npshy 'hpk khzyth kdw mry
Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my soul from their destruction, my precious life from the lions.

ܐܘܕܐ ܠܟ ܒܥܕܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܘܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܐܙܡܪ ܠܟ
lk 'zmr sgy'' wbemm' rbth' bedth' lk 'wd'
I will give you thanks in the great assembly. I will praise you among many people.

ܕܠܐ ܢܚܕܘܢ ܠܝ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܘܫܩܪ̈ܐ ܕܣܢܝܢ ܠܝ ܡܓܢ ܕܡܪܡܙܝܢ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ
beynyhwn dmrmzyn mgn ly dsnyn wshqr' beldbby ly nkhdwn dl'
Don’t let those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let those who hate me without a cause wink their eyes.

ܘܫܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܡܟܝܟܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܢܟܠܐ ܡܬܚܫܒܝܢ
mthkhshbyn nkl' d're' mkyk' wel 'mryn l' wshlm'
For they don’t speak peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.

ܦܬܚܘ ܥܠܝ ܦܘܡܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܐܗܐ ܐܗܐ ܚܙܬ ܒܗ ܥܝܢܢ
eynn bh khzth 'h' 'h' w'mrw pwmhwn ely pthkhw
Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, “Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!”

ܚܙܝܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܬܘܩ ܡܪܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܚܩ ܡܢܝ
mny thrkhq wl' mry thshthwq wl' 'lh' khzyth
You have seen it, Yahweh. Don’t keep silent. Lord, don’t be far from me.

ܐܬܬܥܝܪ ܠܕܝܢܝ ܐܠܗܝ ܘܡܪܝ ܘܚܙܝ ܥܘܠܒܢܝ
ewlbny wkhzy wmry 'lhy ldyny 'ththeyr
Wake up! Rise up to defend me, my God! My Lord, contend for me!

ܕܘܢܝܢܝ ܐܝܟ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܚܕܘܢ ܠܝ
ly nkhdwn dl' mry' zdyqwthk 'yk dwnyny
Vindicate me, Yahweh my God, according to your righteousness. Don’t let them gloat over me.
25
ܘܠܐ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܐܬܬܢܝܚܬ ܢܦܫܢ ܘܛܒܥܢܝܗܝ
wTbenyhy npshn d'ththnykhth blbhwn n'mrwn wl'
Don’t let them say in their heart, “Aha! That’s the way we want it!” Don’t let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”

ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܘܢܚܦܪܘܢ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܠܒܝܫܬܝ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܪܘܪܒܝܢ ܥܠܝ ܢܠܒܫܘܢ ܒܗܬܬܐ
bhthth' nlbshwn ely dmthrwrbyn w'ylyn lbyshthy dtsbyn 'ylyn 'kkhd' wnkhprwn nbhthwn
Let them be disappointed and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.

ܢܫܒܚܘܢ ܘܢܚܕܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܠܙܟܘܬܝ ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܕܪܒ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܨܒܐ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܕܥܒܕܗ
debdh bshlm' dtsb' mry' hw drb bklzbn wn'mrwn lzkwthy dtsbyn 'ylyn wnkhdwn nshbkhwn
Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad. Yes, let them say continually, “May Yahweh be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!”
