לשבחא על יד דוד תושבחתא יי פשפשתני וידעתא:
wydetha pshpshthny yy thwshbkhtha dwd yd el lshbkha
Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me.

את קדמך גלי אותבותי למעסק באוריתא ואוקימותי למזל בקרבא אתבינתא לחברותי בכנשתך מן עם רחיק:
rkhyq em mn bknshthk lkhbrwthy athbyntha bqrba lmzl wawqymwthy bawrytha lmesq awthbwthy gly qdmk ath
You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar.

כדון בהליכותא באורחא וברבעותי למעסק באוריתא אתעבדתא חילוני וכל ארחתי אסכנתא:
askntha arkhthy wkl khylwny athebdtha bawrytha lmesq wbrbewthy bawrkha bhlykwtha kdwn
You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

וכד לית ממלל בלישני הא יי ידעתא מחשבת לבי כולא:
kwla lby mkhshbth ydetha yy ha blyshny mmll lyth wkd
For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.

מאחורי ומאפי אעקתא יתי וגרית עלי מחתא דידך:
dydk mkhtha ely wgryth ythy aeqtha wmapy makhwry
You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me.

מכסיא למידע מני אתקפת לא אכול לה:
lh akwl la athqpth mny lmyde mksya
This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it.

אן איזל מן קדם זעפך ואן מן קדמך אפוך:
apwk qdmk mn wan zepk qdm mn ayzl an
Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence?

אין אסק לשמיא תמן אנת ואמוך לשיול הא תמן מימרך:
mymrk thmn ha lshywl wamwk anth thmn lshmya asq ayn
If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there!

אזקוף ציצין דקריץ אשרי בסופי ימא:
yma bswpy ashry dqryts tsytsyn azqwp
If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea,

לחוד תמן אידך תדבר יתי ותחדנני ימינך:
ymynk wthkhdnny ythy thdbr aydk thmn lkhwd
even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.

ואמרית ברם חושך מחברבר עלי וליליא קבל אמטולתי:
amTwlthy qbl wlylya ely mkhbrbr khwshk brm wamryth
If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me. The light around me will be night,”

לחוד חשוכא לא יחשיך מן מימרך וליליא היך יומא ינהר היך חשוכא היך נהורא שוין:
shwyn nhwra hyk khshwka hyk ynhr ywma hyk wlylya mymrk mn ykhshyk la khshwka lkhwd
even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you.

ארום אנת קניתא כוליתי אשתית לי בכריסא דאמי:
damy bkrysa ly ashthyth kwlythy qnytha anth arwm
For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

אודינך מטול דדחילן פרישת פרישן עובדיך ונפשי חכמא לחדא:
lkhda khkma wnpshy ewbdyk pryshn pryshth ddkhyln mTwl awdynk
I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

לא אתכסא גרמי מנך די אתעבידת בטומרא אצטירית בכריסא דאמא:
dama bkrysa atsTyryth bTwmra athebydth dy mnk grmy athksa la
My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth.

גשמי חמין עינך ועל ספר דכרנך כולהון יומי מכתבין ביומא דאתברי עלמא מן שרויא אתבריאו כולהון בריתא ולית כחד חד ביניהון:
bynyhwn khd kkhd wlyth brytha kwlhwn athbryaw shrwya mn elma dathbry bywma mkthbyn ywmy kwlhwn dkrnk spr wel eynk khmyn gshmy
Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.

ולי כמא יקירין רחמיך צדיקיא אלהא כמא אתחילו רבניהון:
rbnyhwn athkhylw kma alha tsdyqya rkhmyk yqyryn kma wly
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum!
18
אמננון בעלמא הדין יתיר מן חלא יסגעון אתערית בעלמא דאתי ועד כדון אנא גבך:
gbk ana kdwn wed dathy belma atheryth ysgewn khla mn ythyr hdyn belma amnnwn
If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.

אין תקטול אלהא לרשיעא וגברין דחיבין דין דקטול יזורון מני:
mny yzwrwn dqTwl dyn dkhybyn wgbryn lrshyea alha thqTwl ayn
If only you, God, would kill the wicked. Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20
די יימון בשמך על נכלא משתבעין על מגן בעלי דבבך:
dbbk bely mgn el mshthbeyn nkla el bshmk yymwn dy
For they speak against you wickedly. Your enemies take your name in vain.
21
הלא מסנאך יי אנא סני וכד קימין לקבלך אנא מגרג:
mgrg ana lqblk qymyn wkd sny ana yy msnak hla
Yahweh, don’t I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you?
22
עד שציאית סניתא סניתינון לבעלי דבבין הוון לי:
ly hwwn dbbyn lbely snythynwn snytha shtsyayth ed
I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.
23
חקרני אלהא וידע רעיוני בחון יתי וידע הרהורי:
hrhwry wyde ythy bkhwn reywny wyde alha khqrny
Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts.
