על נהרותא דבבל תמן יתיבנא לחוד בכינא כד הוינא דכרין ית ציון:
tsywn yth dkryn hwyna kd bkyna lkhwd ythybna thmn dbbl nhrwtha el
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

על ערבין במציעתא תלינן כנרנא:
knrna thlynn bmtsyetha erbyn el
On the willows in that land, we hung up our harps.

ארום תמן שילו יתנא בבלאי דשבוי יתנא למימר מלין דשיריא ובזזנא על עסק חדוא אמרין שבחו לנא מן שירתא דהויתון אמרין בציון:
btsywn amryn dhwythwn shyrtha mn lna shbkhw amryn khdwa esq el wbzzna dshyrya mlyn lmymr ythna dshbwy bblay ythna shylw thmn arwm
For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

מן יד לואי אמרין היכדין נשבח ית תושבחא דיי על ארעא חילוניתא:
khylwnytha area el dyy thwshbkha yth nshbkh hykdyn amryn lway yd mn
How can we sing Yahweh’s song in a foreign land?

מתיבא קל רוחא דקודשא ואמרא דאין מנשינא ליך ירושלם אנשיה לימיני:
lymyny anshyh yrwshlm lyk mnshyna dayn wamra dqwdsha rwkha ql mthyba
If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill.

תדבק לישני למוריגי אין לא אדכר יתיכי אין לא אסיק דכרן ירושלם על שרוי חדות בית שמשי:
shmshy byth khdwth shrwy el yrwshlm dkrn asyq la ayn ythyky adkr la ayn lmwrygy lyshny thdbq
Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don’t remember you, if I don’t prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

אמר מיכאל רבא דירושלם אדכר יי לעלמא לאדומא דאחריבו ירושלם דאמרין צדו צדו עד דשתאסא בה:
bh dshthasa ed tsdw tsdw damryn yrwshlm dakhrybw ladwma lelma yy adkr dyrwshlm rba mykal amr
Remember, Yahweh, against the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem, who said, “Raze it! Raze it even to its foundation!”

אמר גבריאל רבא דציון לאומא בבליתא בזוזיתא טב ליה דישלם לך ית גומליך ביש די גמלתא לנא:
lna gmltha dy bysh gwmlyk yth lk dyshlm lyh Tb bzwzytha bblytha lawma dtsywn rba gbryal amr
Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be happy who repays you, as you have done to us.
