ܐܠܘ ܠܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܩܡ ܠܢ ܢܐܡܪ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl n'mr ln dqm mry' l' 'lw
If it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, let Israel now say,

ܕܐܠܘ ܠܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܩܡ ܠܢ ܟܕ ܩܡܘ ܥܠܝܢ ܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ
bnynsh' elyn qmw kd ln dqm mry' l' d'lw
if it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, when men rose up against us,

ܚܝܬ ܒܠܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܢ ܘܟܕ ܐܬܚܡܬ ܪܘܓܙܗܘܢ ܥܠܝܢ
elyn rwgzhwn 'thkhmth wkd ln hww bleyn khyth
then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,

ܒܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܛܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܢ ܐܪܓܠܬܐ ܥܒܪܬ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܢ
npshn el ebrth 'rglth' ln hww mTbeyn bmy'
then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.

ܘܡ̈ܝܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܥܒܪܘ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܢ
npshn el ebrw sgy'' wmy'
Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܗܒܢ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܫܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ
lshnyhwn m'kwlth' yhbn dl' mry' hw bryk
Blessed be Yahweh, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

ܢܦܫܢ ܐܝܟ ܨܦܪܐ ܐܬܦܠܛܬ ܡܢ ܦܚܐ ܕܨܝܕܐ. ܦܚܐ ܐܬܬܒܪ ܘܚܢܢ ܐܬܦܨܝܢ
'thptsyn wkhnn 'ththbr pkh' dtsyd' pkh' mn 'thplTth tspr' 'yk npshn
Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
