לשבחא על יד דוד תושבחא אלהים שבחתי לא תשתוק:
thshthwq la shbkhthy alhym thwshbkha dwd yd el lshbkha
God of my praise, don’t remain silent,
2
ארום פומא דרשיעא ופומא דנכלא עלי פתחין מלילו עמי לישן דשקר:
dshqr lyshn emy mlylw pthkhyn ely dnkla wpwma drshyea pwma arwm
for they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.

וממללי סנותא חזרו יתי ואגיחו עמי מגן:
mgn emy wagykhw ythy khzrw snwtha wmmlly
They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

חלף די רחמית סטנו לי ואנא אצלי:
atsly wana ly sTnw rkhmyth dy khlp
In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.

ושוון עלי בישתא חלף טבא וסנאתא חלף דרחימית:
drkhymyth khlp wsnatha Tba khlp byshtha ely wshwwn
They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

אסער עלוי רשיעא וסיטנא יקום על ימיניה:
ymynyh el yqwm wsyTna rshyea elwy aser
Set a wicked man over him. Let an adversary stand at his right hand.

באדיניה יפוק חיב וצלותיה תהי לחובתא:
lkhwbtha thhy wtslwthyh khyb ypwq badynyh
When he is judged, let him come out guilty. Let his prayer be turned into sin.

יהון יומוי קלילין מנין שנוי יירת אוחרן:
awkhrn yyrth shnwy mnyn qlylyn ywmwy yhwn
Let his days be few. Let another take his office.

יהון בנוי יתמי ואתתיה ארמלתא:
armltha waththyh ythmy bnwy yhwn
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10
ואטלטלא יטלטלון בנוי ושאלון ותבעון מדהות צרתהון:
tsrthhwn mdhwth wthbewn wshalwn bnwy yTlTlwn waTlTla
Let his children be wandering beggars. Let them be sought from their ruins.

יגבב מזופא לכל דיליה ויבזון נכראין ליעותיה:
lyewthyh nkrayn wybzwn dylyh lkl mzwpa ygbb
Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.

לא יהי ליה נגיד חסדא ולא יהי ליה חיס על יתמוי:
ythmwy el khys lyh yhy wla khsda ngyd lyh yhy la
Let there be no one to extend kindness to him, neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.

יהי סופיה לאשתציא בדר אוחרן יתמחי שמהון:
shmhwn ythmkhy awkhrn bdr lashthtsya swpyh yhy
Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.

ידכר עוית אבהתוי קדם יי וחובת אמיה לא תתמחי:
ththmkhy la amyh wkhwbth yy qdm abhthwy ewyth ydkr
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by Yahweh. Don’t let the sin of his mother be blotted out.

יהוין קביל מימרא דיי תדירא וישיצי מארעא דכרנהון:
dkrnhwn marea wyshytsy thdyra dyy mymra qbyl yhwyn
Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off their memory from the earth;

מטול דלא אדכר למעבד טיבו ורדיף גבר עניא וחשיכא ומכיך לבא לאתקטלא:
lathqTla lba wmkyk wkhshyka enya gbr wrdyp Tybw lmebd adkr dla mTwl
because he didn’t remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.

ורחים לוטיא ואתית ליה ולא אתרעי בברכתא ואתרחקת מניה:
mnyh wathrkhqth bbrktha athrey wla lyh wathyth lwTya wrkhym
Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him. He didn’t delight in blessing, and it was far from him.

ולבש לוטא היך לבושא ועלת היך מיא בגושמיה והיך משחא באברוי:
babrwy mshkha whyk bgwshmyh mya hyk welth lbwsha hyk lwTa wlbsh
He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment. It came into his inward parts like water, like oil into his bones.

תהוי ליה היך לבוש יתעטף ולקמור תדירא יזרזנה:
yzrznh thdyra wlqmwr ytheTp lbwsh hyk lyh thhwy
Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself, for the belt that is always around him.
20
דא עובדא דשטני מן יי ודמללין בישתא על נפשי:
npshy el byshtha wdmllyn yy mn dshTny ewbda da
This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh, of those who speak evil against my soul.
21
ואת אלהים יי עבד עמי מן בגלל שמך היך טובך וחסדך פצי יתי:
ythy ptsy wkhsdk Twbk hyk shmk bgll mn emy ebd yy alhym wath
But deal with me, Yahweh the Lord, for your name’s sake, because your loving kindness is good, deliver me;

ארום עניא וחשיכא אנא ולבי שפי בגוי:
bgwy shpy wlby ana wkhshyka enya arwm
for I am poor and needy. My heart is wounded within me.
23
היך טולא בצליותיה אתגמרית אטלטלית היך גובאי:
gwbay hyk aTlTlyth athgmryth btslywthyh Twla hyk
I fade away like an evening shadow. I am shaken off like a locust.
24
רכובי אתקלו מצומא ובסרי פתרן מלהוי פטים:
pTym mlhwy pthrn wbsry mtswma athqlw rkwby
My knees are weak through fasting. My body is thin and lacks fat.
25
ואנא הויתי קלנא להון יחמון יתי יטלטלון רישיהון:
ryshyhwn yTlTlwn ythy ykhmwn lhwn qlna hwythy wana
I have also become a reproach to them. When they see me, they shake their head.

סעוד לי יי אלהי פרוק יתי היך חסדך:
khsdk hyk ythy prwq alhy yy ly sewd
Help me, Yahweh, my God. Save me according to your loving kindness;
27
וידעון ארום מחתך דא אנת יי עבדתה:
ebdthh yy anth da mkhthk arwm wydewn
that they may know that this is your hand; that you, Yahweh, have done it.
28
ילטטון הנון ואת תברך יקומון ויבהתון ועבדך יחדי:
ykhdy webdk wybhthwn yqwmwn thbrk wath hnwn ylTTwn
They may curse, but you bless. When they arise, they will be shamed, but your servant shall rejoice.

ילבשון סטני כסופא ויעטפון היך מעילא בהתהון:
bhthhwn meyla hyk wyeTpwn kswpa sTny ylbshwn
Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor. Let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.

אודי יי לחדא בפומי ובמצע חכימיא אשבחניה:
ashbkhnyh khkymya wbmtse bpwmy lkhda yy awdy
I will give great thanks to Yahweh with my mouth. Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.
