Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܦܪ̈ܝܩܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܦܪܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܠܘܨܐ
n'mrwn pryqwhy dmry' dprq 'nwn mn 'yd' d'lwts'
Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

ܘܡܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܪ̈ܥܬܐ ܟܢܫ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܥܪܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܓܪܒܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܝܡܐ
wmn klhyn 'reth' knsh 'nwn mn mdnkh' wmn merb' wmn grby' wmn ym'
and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

ܘܛܥܘ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܕܐܫܝܡܘܢ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܝܬܒܐ ܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ
wTew bmdbr' d'shymwn w'wrkh' dqryth' dythb' l' 'shkkhw
They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.

ܟܦܢܘ ܘܨܗܝܘ ܘܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܐܬܛܪܦܬ

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

ܒܥܘ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܐ̈ܘܠܨܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܥܩܬ̈ܗܘܢ ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ
bew mn mry' b'wltsnyhwn wmn eqthhwn 'pq 'nwn
Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

ܗܠܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܠܡܐܙܠ ܠܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܬ̈ܒܢ
hlk 'nwn b'wrkh' dqwshth' lm'zl lqwry' dythbn
He led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.

ܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ
nwdwn lmry' zdyqwhy drkhmwhy el bny 'nsh'
Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

ܡܛܠ ܕܣܒܥ ܢܦܫ̈ܬܐ ܡܛܪ̈ܦܬܐ ܘܢܦܫܐ ܟܦܢܬܐ ܡܠܐ
mTl dsbe npshth' mTrpth' wnpsh' kpnth' ml'
For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.

ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܘܒ̈ܛܠܠܝ ܡܘܬܐ ܘܐܣܝܪܝܢ ܒܡܣܟܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܦܪ̈ܙܠܐ
d'ylyn dythbyn bkhshwk' wbTlly mwth' w'syryn bmsknwth' wbprzl'
Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron,

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܡܪܘ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܬܪܥܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܡܐ ܐܣܠܝܘ

because they rebelled against the words of God, and condemned the counsel of the Most High.

ܬܒܪ ܒܥܡܠܐ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܟܪܗܘ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܥܕܪ ܠܗܘܢ

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down, and there was no one to help.

ܘܨܠܝܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܥܩ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܐܘ̈ܠܨܢܝܗܘܢ ܦܪܩ ܐܢܘܢ

Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܘܡܢ ܛ̈ܠܠܝ ܡܘܬܐ ܘܚ̈ܢܩܝܗܘܢ ܦܣܩ
'pq 'nwn mn khshwk' wmn Tlly mwth' wkhnqyhwn psq
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke away their chains.

ܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ

Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

ܡܛܠ ܕܬܒܪ ܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܡܘܟ̈ܠܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܓܕܡ
mTl dthbr thre' dnkhsh' wmwkl' dprzl' gdm
For he has broken the gates of bronze, and cut through bars of iron.

ܥܕܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚ̈ܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܐܬܡܟܟܘ
edr 'nwn mn 'wrkh' dkhThyhwn wmn ewlhwn 'thmkkw
Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.

ܟܠ ܡܐܟܠܐ ܣܢܬ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܡܛܝܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܬܪ̈ܥܝ ܡܘܬܐ

Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death.

ܒܥܘ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܐ̈ܘܠܨܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܥܩ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ
bew mn mry' b'wltsnyhwn wmn eqthhwn 'pq 'nwn
Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses.

ܫܕܪ ܡܠܬܗ ܘܐܣܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܦܨܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܒܠܐ
shdr mlthh w'sy 'nwn wptsy 'nwn mn khbl'
He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves.

ܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ

Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

ܕܒܚܘ ܠܗ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܐ ܫܒܚܘ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܒܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܗ

Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his deeds with singing.

ܢܚ̈ܬܝ ܝܡܐ ܒܐ̈ܠܦܐ ܘܥܒܪ̈ܝ ܥܒܪ̈ܐ ܒܡ̈ܝܐ ܣܓ̈ܝܐܐ
nkhthy ym' b'lp' webry ebr' bmy' sgy''
Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters,

ܗܢܘܢ ܚܙܘ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܗ ܒܥܘܡ̈ܩܘܗܝ ܕܝܡܐ
hnwn khzw ebdwhy dmry' wthdmrthh bewmqwhy dym'
these see Yahweh’s deeds, and his wonders in the deep.

ܕܐܩܝܡ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܥܠܥܠܐ ܘܐܬܬܪܝܡܘ ܓ̈ܠܠܘܗܝ ܕܝܡܐ
d'qym rwkh' delel' w'ththrymw gllwhy dym'
For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.

ܣܠܩܝܢ ܠܫܡܝܐ ܘܢܚܬܝܢ ܠܬܗܘܡܐ ܘܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܡܬܛܪܦܐ

They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble.

ܙܥܘ ܘܢܕܘ ܐܝܟ ܐܪ̈ܘܝܐ ܘܟܠܗ̇ ܚܟܡܬܗܘܢ ܐܒܕܬ

They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.

ܓܥܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܐ̈ܘܠܨܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܥܩ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ

Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.

ܐܫܠܝ ܥܠܥܠܐ ܘܫܬܩܘ ܘܐܬܬܢܝܚܘ ܓ̈ܠܠܘܗܝ ܕܝܡܐ
'shly elel' wshthqw w'ththnykhw gllwhy dym'
He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.

ܘܚܕܝܘ ܟܕ ܫܬܩܘ ܕܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܠܡܐܢܐ ܕܨܒܘ
wkhdyw kd shthqw dbr 'nwn llm'n' dtsbw
Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.

ܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ

Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds for the children of men!

ܫܒܚܘܗܝ ܒܥܕܬܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܥܠ ܡܘܬܒܐ ܕܣܒ̈ܐ ܪܡܪܡܘܗܝ
shbkhwhy bedth' demm' wel mwthb' dsb' rmrmwhy
Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the seat of the elders.

ܕܥܒܕ ܢܗܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܡܒ̈ܘܥܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܠܨܗܝܐ
debd nhrwth' 'yk mdbr' wmbwe' dmy' ltshy'
He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground,

ܐܪܥܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܦܐܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܠܡܠܚܬܐ ܡܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܫ̈ܐ ܕܝܬܒ̈ܝܗ̇
're' yhbth p'ryh lmlkhth' mn ebdyhwn bysh' dythbyh
and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

ܕܥܒܕ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܠܐ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܨܗܝܬܐ ܠܡܒ̈ܘܥܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ
debd mdbr' l'gm' dmy' w're' tshyth' lmbwe' dmy'
He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.
36
ܐܘܬܒ ܬܡܢ ܟܦܢ̈ܐ ܘܒܢܘ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܝܬܒܘ ܒܗܝܢ
'wthb thmn kpn' wbnw qwry' wythbw bhyn
There he makes the hungry live, that they may prepare a city to live in,

ܙܪܥܘ ܚܩ̈ܠܬܐ ܘܢܨܒܘ ܟܪ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܟܠܘ ܡܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܥ̈ܠܠܬܗܘܢ
zrew khqlth' wntsbw krm' w'klw mn p'r' dellthhwn
sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase.

ܒܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܣܓܝܘ ܛܒ ܘܒܥܝܪܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܙܥܪ
brk 'nwn wsgyw Tb wbeyrhwn l' 'zer
He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. He doesn’t allow their livestock to decrease.

ܘܙܥܪܘ ܘܐܬܡܟܟܘ ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܕܕܐܘܘܢܐ
wzerw w'thmkkw bswg'' dbyshth' wdd'wwn'
Again, they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

ܐܪܡܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܥܠ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܐ ܘܐܛܥܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܬܘܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܘܪܚܐ
'rmy byshth' el shlyT' w'Tey 'nwn bthwsh' dl' 'wrkh'
He pours contempt on princes, and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.

ܘܐܥܫܢ ܠܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܐܝܟ ܥܢܐ ܫܪ̈ܒܬܗܘܢ
w'eshn lmskn' webd 'yk en' shrbthhwn
Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock.

ܕܢܚܙܘܢ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܘܢܚܕܘܢ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܢܣܟܪܘܢ ܚܟܗܘܢ
dnkhzwn zdyq' wnkhdwn wklhwn ewl' nskrwn khkhwn
The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.

ܡܢ ܕܚܟܝܡ ܢܛܪ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܢܕܥ ܚܣܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
mn dkhkym nTr hlyn wnde khsdh dmry'
Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things. They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh.
