Praise Yahweh! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

ܡܢܘ ܢܫܬܥܐ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܫܡܥ ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܬܫ̈ܒܚܬܗ

Who can utter the mighty acts of Yahweh, or fully declare all his praise?

ܛܘܒܝܗܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܢܛܪܝܢ ܕܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܥܒܕܝܢ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܗ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ
Twbyhwn l'ylyn dnTryn dynwhy webdyn zdyqwthh bklzbn
Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

ܐܬܕܟܪܝܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܥܡܟ ܘܦܪܘܩܝܢܝ ܒܦܘܪܩܢܟ
'thdkryny mry' btsbynh demk wprwqyny bpwrqnk
Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your salvation,

ܕܐܚܙܐ ܒ̈ܛܒܬܐ ܕܓܒܝ̈ܟ ܐܚܕܐ ܒܚܕܘܬܟ ܘܐܫܬܒܚ ܒܝܪܬܘܬܟ

that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

ܚܛܝܢ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܢ ܘܐܣܟܠܢ ܘܐܪܫܥܢ
khTyn em 'bhyn w'skln w'rshen
We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.

ܐܒ̈ܗܝܢ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܣܬܟܠܘ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܟ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܝܒ̈ܘܬܟ ܕܐܬܚܪܝܘ ܥܠ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܝܡܐ ܕܣܘܦ
'bhyn bmtsryn l' 'sthklw thdmrthk wl' 'thdkrw swg'' dTybwthk d'thkhryw el my' bym' dswp
Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

ܘܦܪܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܫܡܗ ܕܢܚܘܐ ܓܢܒܪܘܬܗ
wprq 'nwn mTl shmh dnkhw' gnbrwthh
Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

ܟܐܐ ܒܝܡܐ ܕܣܘܦ ܘܝܒܫ ܗܠܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܬܗܘܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܡܕܒܪܐ
k'' bym' dswp wybsh hlk 'nwn bthhwm' 'yk dbmdbr'
He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

ܘܦܪܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܥܠܕܒܒܐ ܘܦܨܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܠܘܨܐ
wprq 'nwn mn 'yd' dbeldbb' wptsy 'nwn mn 'yd' d'lwts'
He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

ܘܟܣܝܘ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܠܐ̈ܠܘܨܝܗܘܢ ܘܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܚܪ
wksyw my' l'lwtsyhwn wkhd mnhwn l' 'shthkhr
The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܘܫܒܚܘ ܬܫܒ̈ܚܬܗ
hymnw bmlwhy wshbkhw thshbkhthh
Then they believed his words. They sang his praise.

ܐܣܬܪܗܒܘ ܘܛܥܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܣܒܪܘ ܠܬܪܥܝܬܗ
'sthrhbw wTew l'lh' wl' sbrw lthreythh
They soon forgot his works. They didn’t wait for his counsel,

ܪܓܘ ܪܓܬܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܢܣܝܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܒܐܫܝܡܘܢ

but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.

ܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܐ̈ܠܬܗܘܢ ܘܫܕܪ ܣܒܥܐ ܠܢܦܫ̈ܬܗܘܢ
yhb lhwn sh'lthhwn wshdr sbe' lnpshthhwn
He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

ܛܢܘ ܒܡܘܫܐ ܒܡܫܪܝܬܐ ܘܒܐܗܪܘܢ ܩܕܝܫܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
Tnw bmwsh' bmshryth' wb'hrwn qdyshh dmry'
They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, Yahweh’s saint.

ܐܬܦܬܚܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܒܠܥܬ ܠܕܬܢ ܘܟܣܝܬ ܥܠ ܟܢܘܫܬܗ ܕܐܒܝܪܡ
'thpthkhth 're' wbleth ldthn wksyth el knwshthh d'byrm
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

ܚܒܬ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܟܢܘܫ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܘܫܠܗܒܝܬܐ ܐܘܩܕܬ ܠܥܘ̈ܠܐ
khbth nwr' bknwshthhwn wshlhbyth' 'wqdth lewl'
A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.

ܥܒܕܘ ܥܓܠܐ ܒܚܘܪܝܒ ܘܣܓܕܘ ܠܢܣܝܟܐ
ebdw egl' bkhwryb wsgdw lnsyk'
They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped a molten image.

ܘܚܠܦܘ ܐܝܩܪܗܘܢ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܬܘܪܐ ܕܐܟܠ ܥܣܒܐ
wkhlpw 'yqrhwn bdmwth' dthwr' d'kl esb'
Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass.

ܘܛܥܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܦܪܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܥܒܕ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ
wTew l'lh' dprq 'nwn debd rwrbth' bmtsryn
They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,

ܘܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܚܡ ܘܕܚ̈ܝܠܬܐ ܒܝܡܐ ܕܣܘܦ
wthdmrth' b're' dkhm wdkhylth' bym' dswp
wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea.

ܘܐܡܪ ܕܢܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܘ ܠܐ ܡܘܫܐ ܓܒܝܗ ܕܩܡ ܒܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܗܦܟ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܠܐ ܢܚܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ
w'mr dnwbd 'nwn 'lw l' mwsh' gbyh dqm bthwreth' qdmwhy w'hpk rwgzh dl' nkhbl 'nwn
Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.

ܘܐܣܠܝܘܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܪܓܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܠܡܠܬܗ

Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t believe his word,

ܘܪܛܢܘ ܒܡܫ̈ܟܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܩܠܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

but murmured in their tents, and didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice.

ܘܐܪܝܡ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܕܢܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ
w'rym 'ydh elyhwn dnwbd 'nwn bemm'
Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

ܘܢܒܕܪ ܙܪܥܗܘܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܢܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܪ̈ܥܬܐ
wnbdr zrehwn bemm' wnwbd 'nwn b'reth'
that he would overthrow their offspring among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.

ܥܠ ܕܐܬܢܩܦܘ ܠܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܦܥܘܪ ܘܐܟܠܘ ܕܒ̈ܚܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܬܐ
el d'thnqpw lpthkr' dpewr w'klw dbkh' dmyth'
They joined themselves also to Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

ܘܐܪܓܙܘܗܝ ܒܥܒ̈ܕܝܗܘܢ ܘܒܦܬܟܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܐܛܢܘܗܝ ܘܥܫܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܘܬܢܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ
w'rgzwhy bebdyhwn wbpthkryhwn 'Tnwhy weshn elyhwn mwthn' mn shly'
Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds. The plague broke in on them.
30
ܩܡ ܦܝܢܚܣ ܘܨܠܝ ܘܐܬܟܠܝ ܡܘܬܢܐ
qm pynkhs wtsly w'thkly mwthn'
Then Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.
31
ܘܐܬܚܫܒܬ ܠܗ ܙܟܘܬܐ ܠܕܪܕܪܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
w'thkhshbth lh zkwth' ldrdryn edm' lelm
That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.

ܘܐܪܓܙܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܚܪܝܢܐ ܘܐܒܐܫ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܡܛܠܬܗܘܢ
w'rgzwhy el my' dkhryn' w'b'sh lmwsh' mTlthhwn
They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled for their sakes;

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܡܪܘ ܪܘܚܗ ܘܡܠܠܘ ܒܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ
mTl dmrmrw rwkhh wmllw bspwthh
because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

ܘܠܐ ܐܘܒܕܘ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ
wl' 'wbdw lemm' d'mr lhwn mry'
They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,

ܐܠܐ ܐܬܚܠܛܘ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܝܠܦܘ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܗܘܢ
'l' 'thkhlTw bemm' wylpw ebdyhwn
but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.
36
ܘܕܚܠܘ ܠܦܬܟܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܬܘܩܠܬܐ
wdkhlw lpthkryhwn whww lhwn lthwqlth'
They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
37
ܕܒܚܘ ܒܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܒܢ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܠܫܐ̈ܕܐ
dbkhw bnyhwn wbnthhwn lsh'd'
Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38
ܘܐܫܕܘ ܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܕܡܐ ܕܒܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܕܒܢ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܕܒܚܘ ܠܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܟܢܥܢ ܘܐܬܛܢܦܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܒܕܡܐ
w'shdw dm' zky' dm' dbnyhwn wdbnthhwn dbkhw lpthkr' dknen w'thTnpth 're' bdm'
They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.

ܐܬܛܢܦܘ ܒܥܒ̈ܕܝܗܘܢ ܘܙܢܝܘ ܒܨܢ̈ܥܬܗܘܢ
'thTnpw bebdyhwn wznyw btsnethhwn
Thus they were defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.
40
ܘܐܬܚܡܬ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܗ ܘܐܣܠܝ ܠܝܪܬܘܬܗ
w'thkhmth rwgzh dmry' el emh w'sly lyrthwthh
Therefore Yahweh burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.

ܘܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܫܬܠܛܘ ܒܗܘܢ ܣ̈ܢܐܝܗܘܢ
w'shlm 'nwn b'yd' demm' w'shthlTw bhwn sn'yhwn
He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.

ܘܫܥܒܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܫܬܥܒܕܘ ܬܚܘܬ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ
wshebdw 'nwn beldbbyhwn w'shthebdw thkhwth 'ydyhwn
Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.

ܙܒܢ̈ܬܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܬܐ ܦܨܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܡܪܡܪܘܗܝ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܡܟܟܘ ܒܥܘܠܗܘܢ
zbnth' sgy'th' ptsy 'nwn whnwn mrmrwhy bthreythhwn w'thmkkw bewlhwn
He rescued them many times, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.

ܘܚܙܐ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܗܘܢ ܘܫܡܥ ܒܥܘܬܗܘܢ
wkhz' b'wltsnhwn wshme bewthhwn
Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry.

ܘܐܬܕܟܪ ܩܝܡܗ ܘܪܚܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܕܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܝܒ̈ܘܬܗ
w'thdkr qymh wrkhm elyhwn wdbr 'nwn 'yk swg'' dTybwthh
He remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

ܘܝܗܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܪ̈ܚܡܐ ܩܕܡ ܟܘܠ ܫܒܝ̈ܗܘܢ
wyhb 'nwn brkhm' qdm kwl shbyhwn
He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.

ܦܪܘܩܝܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܘܟܢܫܝܢܝ ܡܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܢܘܕܐ ܠܫܡܟ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܘܢܫܬܒܚ ܒܝܪܬܘܬܟ
prwqyn mry' 'lhn wknshyny mn emm' dnwd' lshmk qdysh' wnshthbkh byrthwthk
Save us, Yahweh, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!

ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܥܠܡ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܟܘܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܐܡܝܢ ܘܐܡܝܢ

Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting! Let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise Yah!
