ܚܟܡܬܐ ܒܢܬ ܒܝܬܐ ܘܐܩܝܡܬ ܒܗ ܫܒܥܐ ܥܡ̈ܘܕܝܢ
khkmth' bnth byth' w'qymth bh shbe' emwdyn
Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.

ܘܢܟܣܬ ܢܟܣܬܗ̇ ܘܡܙܓܬ ܚܡܪܗ̇ ܘܛܝܒܬ ܦܬܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇
wnksth nksthh wmzgth khmrh wTybth pthwryh
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.

ܘܫܕܪܬ ܥܒ̣̈ܕܝܗ̇ ܕܢܩܪܘܢ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ
wshdrth ebdyh dnqrwn el rmth' wn'mrwn
She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:

ܡܢܘ ܕܫܒܪ ܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܘܕܚܣܝܪ ܪܥܝܢܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ
mnw dshbr n'th' lwthy wdkhsyr reynh w'mr lh
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,

ܬܘ ܐܟܘܠܘ ܡܢ ܠܚܡܝ ܘܐܫܬܘ ܡܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܕܡܙܓܬ
thw 'kwlw mn lkhmy w'shthw mn khmr' dmzgth
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!

ܘܐܢܝܚܘ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܚܣܝܪܘܬ ܪܥܝܢܟܘܢ ܘܚܝܘ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܬܪܝܨܬܐ ܐܬܪܥܘ
w'nykhw mnkwn khsyrwth reynkwn wkhyw w'wrkh' thrytsth' 'threw
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”

ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܠܒܝܫܐ ܝܗܒܐ ܠܗ ܨܥܪܐ ܘܡܟܣ ܠܥܘܠܐ ܡܘܡܗ
mrdwth' lbysh' yhb' lh tser' wmks lewl' mwmh
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.

ܠܐ ܬܟܣ ܠܒܝܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܣܢܝܟ ܐܠܐ ܐܟܣ ܠܚܟܝܡܐ ܕܢܪܚܡܟ

Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.

ܗܒ ܐܦܬܐ ܠܚܟܝܡܐ ܕܬܘܒ ܢܬܚܟܡ ܘܐܘܕܥ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܕܢܘܣܦ ܥܠ ܝܘܠܦܢܗ
hb 'pth' lkhkym' dthwb nthkhkm w'wde lzdyq' dnwsp el ywlpnh
Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.

ܪܝܫ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܕܚܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܝܕܥܬܐ ܕܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܣܘܟܠܐ
rysh khkmth' dkhlthh dmry' wydeth' dzdyq' swkl'
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܗ̇ ܢܣܓܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܟ ܘܢܬܬܘ̈ܣܦܢ ܠܟ ܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ
mTl dbh nsgwn ywmthk wnththwspn lk shny' dkhy'
For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.

ܒܪܝ ܐܢ ܚܟܝܡ ܐܢܬ ܠܢܦܫܟ ܚܟܝܡ ܐܢܬ ܘܠܪ̈ܚܡܝܟ ܘܐܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܝܫ ܒܠܚܘܕܝܟ ܬܕܠܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܟ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܣܪܒ ܕܓܠܐܝܬ ܪܥܐ ܪ̈ܘܚܝܢ ܘܪܕܦ ܥܘܦܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܫܒܩ ܓܝܪ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܟܪܡܗ ܘܛܥܐ ܫܒ̈ܝܠܝ ܦܘܠܚܢܗ ܠܡܪܕܐ ܒܚܘܪܒܐ ܕܠܐ ܡ̈ܝܢ ܘܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܕܪܝܫܐ ܪܕܐ ܒܨܗܝܐ ܐܦ ܗܘ ܢܟܢܫ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.

ܐܢܬܬܐ ܚܣܝܪܬ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܡܫܕܠܢܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܐ ܒܗܬܬܐ
'nthth' khsyrth reyn' mshdlny' wl' yde' bhthth'
The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.

ܝܬܒܐ ܥܠ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ̇ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܪܡܐ
ythb' el thre' dbythh el kwrsy' rm'
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

ܘܩܪܝܐ ܠܥܒܪ̈ܝ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܨܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܐ

to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,

ܡܢܘ ܕܫܒܪ ܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܘܕܚܣܝܪ ܪܥܝܢܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ
mnw dshbr n'th' lwthy wdkhsyr reynh w'mr lh
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,

ܡ̈ܝܐ ܓܢܝ̈ܒܐ ܚܠܝܢ ܘܠܚܡܐ ܡܛܫܝܐ ܒܣܝܡ
my' gnyb' khlyn wlkhm' mTshy' bsym
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”

ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܕܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܠܘܬܗ̇ ܐܒܕܝܢ ܘܒܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܫܝܘܠ ܟܠ ܕܡܙܕܡܢܝܢ ܠܗ̇ ܐܠܐ ܫܘܪ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܬܘܚܪ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܠܐ ܬܨܕ ܒܗ ܥܝܢܟ ܗܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܬܥܒܪ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܢܗܪܐ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܘܬܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܫܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܘܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܢܬܬܘ̈ܣܦܢ ܠܟ

But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
