ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܐܟܪܙ ܘܣܘܟܠܐ ܢܥܢܝܟ
nenyk wswkl' 'krz khkmth' hn' mTl
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?

ܥܠ ܪܝܫ ܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܬܝܗ̇ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܝܕ ܫܒܝ̈ܠܐ ܩܝܡܐ
qym' shbyl' yd wel 'wrkhth' wbyth khkmth' 'ythyh gyr rmth' rysh el
On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.

ܘܥܠ ܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܒܦܘܡܗ̇ ܩܪܝܐ ܘܒܡ̈ܥܠܢܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܕܟܪ̈ܟܐ ܡܫܬܒܚܐ
mshthbkh' dkrk' dthre' wbmeln' qry' bpwmh thre' wel
Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:

ܘܐܡܪܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܩܪܝܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܩܠܝ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bny el wqly 'n' qry' gbr' lkwn w'mr'
“I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.

ܕܢܣܬܟܠܘܢ ܫܒܪ̈ܐ ܥܪܝܡܘܬܐ ܘܚܣܝܪ̈ܝ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܢܣܬܟܠܘܢ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ
blbhwn nsthklwn reyn' wkhsyry erymwth' shbr' dnsthklwn
You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

ܫܘܡܥܘܢܝ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܫܪܝܪܬܐ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܡܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܝ ܬܪܝܨܘܬܐ
thrytswth' pwmy wmpthkh 'n' mmll' hw dshryrth' mTwl shwmewny
Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.

ܩܘܫܬܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܪܢܐ ܦܘܡܝ ܘܛܡ̈ܐܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܣܦܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܓܠܬ̈ܐ
dglth' spwth' qdmy wTm'n pwmy rn' gyr hw qwshth'
For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

ܘܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܦܘܡܝ ܘܠܝܬ ܒܗܝܢ ܦܘܬܠܐ ܘܥܘܩܡܐ
wewqm' pwthl' bhyn wlyth pwmy mly klhyn 'nyn wbzdyqwth'
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܓܠܝ̈ܢ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܡܫܬܘܕܥ ܠܗܝܢ ܘܬܪ̈ܝܨܢ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܨܒܐ ܠܡܕܥ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ
'nyn lmde dtsb' l'yn' 'nyn wthrytsn lhyn dmshthwde l'yn' 'nyn glyn wklhyn
They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

ܩܒܠܘ ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܓܒܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܣܢܝܢܐ
snyn' dhb' mn Tb ydeth' lkwn wgbw ksp' wl' mrdwth' qblw
Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܣܢܝܢܐ ܘܛܒ ܡܢ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܛܒܬ̈ܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܦܚܡ ܠܗ̇
lh pkhm l' wmdm Tbth' k'p' mn wTb snyn' dhb' mn Tb khkmth' hy dTb' mTl
For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

ܐܢܐ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܒܪܝܬ ܥܪܝܡܘܬܐ ܘܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܩܢܝܐ
qny' 'n' wthreyth' wydeth' erymwth' bryth khkmth' 'n'
“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.

ܕܚܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܣܢܝܐ ܒܝܫܘܬܐ ܘܓܐܝܘܬܐ ܘܪܡܘܬܐ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܦܘܡܐ ܗܦܝܟܐ ܣܢܝܐ ܐܢܐ
'n' sny' hpyk' wpwm' byshth' w'wrkh' wrmwth' wg'ywth' byshwth' sny' dmry' dkhlthh
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

ܕܝܠܝ ܗܝ ܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܘܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܗܘ ܣܘܟܠܐ ܘܕܝܠܝ ܗܝ ܓܢܒܪܘܬܐ
gnbrwth' hy wdyly swkl' hw dyly wywlpn' threyth' hy dyly
Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.

ܡܛܠܬܝ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܡܡܠܟܝܢ ܘܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܒܕܩܝܢ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ
zdyqwth' bdqyn wshlyTn' mmlkyn mlk' mTlthy
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

ܡܛܘܠܬܝ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܡܫܬܠܛܝܢ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܝ̇ܢ̈ܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ
dzdyqwth' dyn' wklhwn wrwrbn' mshthlTyn shlyTn' mTwlthy
By me princes rule, nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.

ܐܢܐ ܪܚܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܪ̈ܚܡܝ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܠܝ ܢܫܟܚܘܢܢܝ
nshkkhwnny ly dbeyn w'ylyn rkhmy 'n' rkhm' 'n'
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.

ܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܗܘ ܘܩܢܝܢܐ ܥܬܝܩܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ
wzdyqwth' ethyq' wqnyn' hw dyly w'yqr' ewthr'
With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.

ܘܦܐܪ̈ܝ ܛܒܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܣܢܝܢܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܠܬܝ ܡܢ ܣܐܡܐ ܓܒܝܐ
gby' s'm' mn wellthy snyn' dhb' mn 'nwn Tbyn wp'ry
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, my yield than choice silver.

ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܗܠܟܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܒܓܘ ܫܒܝ̈ܠܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ
ddyn' shbyl' wbgw 'n' mhlk' dzdyqwth' b'wrkh'
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,

ܕܐܘܪܬ ܠܪ̈ܚܡܝ ܣܒܪܐ ܘܣܝܡ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܐܡܠܐ
'ml' wsymthhwn sbr' lrkhmy d'wrth
that I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.

ܡܪܝܐ ܒܪܢܝ ܒܪܝܫ ܒܪ̈ܝܬܗ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ
klhwn ebdwhy qdm wmn brythh brysh brny mry'
“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.

ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܥ̈ܠܡܐ ܐܬܩܢܢܝ ܘܡܢ ܪܫܝܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܕܢܬܩܢ ܐܪܥܐ
're' dnthqn qdm wmn rshyth' wmn 'thqnny elm' qdm wmn
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.

ܥܕܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܬܗ̈ܘܡܐ ܐܬܝܠܕܬ ܘܥܕܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܡ̈ܒܘܥܐ
bmbwe' my' nhwwn wedl' 'thyldth thhwm' nhwwn edl'
When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water.

ܘܥܕܠܐ ܢܬܩܢܘܢ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܩܕܡ ܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܐܬܒܛܢܬ
'thbTnth rmth' wqdm Twr' nthqnwn wedl'
Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born;

ܥܕܠܐ ܢܥܒܕ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܚ̈ܠܐ ܘܪܝܫ ܥܦܪܗ̇ ܕܬܒܝܠ
dthbyl eprh wrysh wnkhl' 're' nebd edl'
while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.

ܟܕ ܡܬܩܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܥܡܗ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܟܕ ܥܒܕ ܚܘܓܬܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܬܗ̈ܘܡܐ

When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle on the surface of the deep,

ܘܟܕ ܐܥܫܢ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܠܥܠ ܘܟܕ ܐܥܫܢ ܡܒ̈ܘܥܐ ܕܬܗ̈ܘܡܐ
dthhwm' mbwe' 'eshn wkd lel mn enn' 'eshn wkd
when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,

ܟܕ ܣܡ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܠܝܡܐ ܘܡ̈ܝܐ ܠܐ ܥܒܪܝܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܟܕ ܥܒܕ ܫܬܐ̈ܣܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' shth'syh ebd wkd pwmh ebryn l' wmy' lym' nmws' sm kd
when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

ܥܡܗ ܡܬܩܢܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܝ ܚܕܐ ܗܘܐ ܟܠ ܝܘܡ ܘܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܚܕܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ
hwyth khdy' qdmwhy wbklzbn ywm kl hw' khd' by hwyth mthqn' emh
then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,

ܚܕܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܬܒܝܠ ܐܪܥܗ ܘܡܫܬܒܚܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bbny hwyth wmshthbkh' 'reh bthbyl hwyth khdy'
rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.

ܡܟܝܠ ܒܢ̈ܝܐ ܫܘܡܥܘܢܝ ܛܘܒܘܗܝ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܢܛܪ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܝ
'wrkhthy dnTr lmn Twbwhy shwmewny bny' mkyl
“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.

ܫܡܥܘ ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܘܐܬܚܟܡܘ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܥܘܢ
thTewn wl' w'thkhkmw mrdwth' shmew
Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.

ܛܘܒܘܗܝ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܢܫܡܥܢܝ ܘܢܫܗܪ ܥܠ ܬܪ̈ܥܝ ܒܟܠܝܘܡ ܘܢܛܪ ܐ̈ܣܟܦܬܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܥܝ
dthrey 'skpth' wnTr bklywm threy el wnshhr dnshmeny lbrnsh' Twbwhy
Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܦܩ̈ܢܝ ܡܦܩ̈ܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܢܦܩ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' mn tsbyn' wnpq dkhy' 'nwn mpqn' dmpqny mTl
For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
