מטול היכנא חכמתא תקרא וביונא תרמי קלא:
qla thrmy wbywna thqra khkmtha hykna mTwl
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?

בריש רמתא על ארחא איתא ובינת שבילי קימא:
qyma shbyly wbynth aytha arkha el rmtha brysh
On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.

ועל תרעי בפומא דקריא ובמעלנא דתרעי משתבחא ואמרה:
wamrh mshthbkha dthrey wbmelna dqrya bpwma threy wel
Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:

לכון גברי קרינא וקלי על בני נשא:
nsha bny el wqly qryna gbry lkwn
“I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.

אתבינו שברי ערימותא ושטיי נסתכלון בלבהון:
blbhwn nsthklwn wshTyy erymwtha shbry athbynw
You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

שמעו מטול דשרירותא ממללא אנא וממלל פומי תריצותא:
thrytswtha pwmy wmmll ana mmlla dshryrwtha mTwl shmew
Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.

מטול דקושטא רנא פומי וריחוקא דשפותי רשעא:
rshea dshpwthy wrykhwqa pwmy rna dqwshTa mTwl
For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

ובצדקותא אנון כל מימרי פומי ולית בהון פתולא ועקומא:
weqwma pthwla bhwn wlyth pwmy mymry kl anwn wbtsdqwtha
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

וכולן גלין לאנש דמתבין ותריצין לאלין דצבאין בידיעתא:
bydyetha dtsbayn lalyn wthrytsyn dmthbyn lansh glyn wkwln
They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

קבילו מרדותא ולא כספא וגבו לכון ידיעתא מן דהבא סנינא:
snyna dhba mn ydyetha lkwn wgbw kspa wla mrdwtha qbylw
Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.

מטול דטבא חכמתא מן כיפי טבתא וכל מדעם לא פחים לה:
lh pkhym la mdem wkl Tbtha kypy mn khkmtha dTba mTwl
For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

אנא חכמתא דרית ערימותא ידיעתא ותרעיתא משכחא אנא:
ana mshkkha wthreytha ydyetha erymwtha dryth khkmtha ana
“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.

דחלתא דיי סניא בישתא גאותא ורמותא וארחא בישתא ופומא הפיכא סניא אנא:
ana snya hpyka wpwma byshtha warkha wrmwtha gawtha byshtha snya dyy dkhltha
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

די לי היא תרעיתא ומלכנא וביונא וגברותא:
wgbrwtha wbywna wmlkna threytha hya ly dy
Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.

מטול אנא מלכי מלכין ושליטי אנא משחא בצדקותא:
btsdqwtha mshkha ana wshlyTy mlkyn mlky ana mTwl
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16
מטול אנא רברבני מתרברבין וסרכי כלהון דיני דתריצותא:
dthrytswtha dyny klhwn wsrky mthrbrbyn rbrbny ana mTwl
By me princes rule, nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
17
אנא רחמא רחמי ואלין דמקדמין לי ישכחנני:
yshkkhnny ly dmqdmyn walyn rkhmy rkhma ana
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
18
עתרא ויקרא דילי ממונא ומזלא וצדקתא:
wtsdqtha wmzla mmwna dyly wyqra ethra
With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
19
טבין פריי מן דהבא סנינא ומן דהבא אובריזין ועללתי מן סניא גביא:
gbya snya mn wellthy awbryzyn dhba wmn snyna dhba mn pryy Tbyn
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, my yield than choice silver.
20
בארחתא דצדקתא מהלכא אנא בגו שבילי דדינא:
ddyna shbyly bgw ana mhlka dtsdqtha barkhtha
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,
21
דאורית לרחמי שניא סגיאתא וסימתהון אמלא:
amla wsymthhwn sgyatha shnya lrkhmy dawryth
that I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
22
אלהא בראני בריש בריתיה ומן קדם עובדוי מן ריש:
rysh mn ewbdwy qdm wmn brythyh brysh brany alha
“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
23
ומן קדם עלמא אתתקנית מן רישיה ומן קדם דתהוי ארעא:
area dthhwy qdm wmn ryshyh mn aththqnyth elma qdm wmn
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
24
עד לא נהוון תהומי אתילידית ועד דלא נהוון מעיני עשוני דמיא:
dmya eshwny meyny nhwwn dla wed athylydyth thhwmy nhwwn la ed
When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water.
25
קדים עד לא נטבעון טורי וקדם רמתא אתבנית:
athbnyth rmtha wqdm Twry nTbewn la ed qdym
Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born;
26
עד לא עבד ארעא ונחלי וריש עפרא דתבל:
dthbl epra wrysh wnkhly area ebd la ed
while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
27
כד אתקין שמיא תמן הוית ועד חג חוגתא על אפי תהומא:
thhwma apy el khwgtha khg wed hwyth thmn shmya athqyn kd
When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle on the surface of the deep,

וכד אגרים ענני מלעיל וכד אעשין מעיני תהומא:
thhwma meyny aeshyn wkd mleyl enny agrym wkd
when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
29
וכד שם לימא תחומיה ומיא לא עברין ליה שם שתאסיא דארעא:
darea shthasya shm lyh ebryn la wmya thkhwmyh lyma shm wkd
when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
30
והוית בצדוי מהימנתא וכדשבוחין הוית כל יומא ויומא חדיא אנא קדמוי בכל זמן:
zmn bkl qdmwy ana khdya wywma ywma kl hwyth wkdshbwkhyn mhymntha btsdwy whwyth
then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,

חדיא הוית בתבל ארעיה ושבוחי בבני נשא:
nsha bbny wshbwkhy areyh bthbl hwyth khdya
rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
32
והשתא בניא שמעון לי וטובוי למן דנטר אורחתי:
awrkhthy dnTr lmn wTwbwy ly shmewn bnya whshtha
“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
33
שמעו מרדותא ואתחכמו ולא תדישון:
thdyshwn wla wathkhkmw mrdwtha shmew
Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.

טובוי לבר נשא דשמע לי ונשקוד על אסקופתי בכל יומא ויומא למנטר ספי דתרעא:
dthrea spy lmnTr wywma ywma bkl asqwpthy el wnshqwd ly dshme nsha lbr Twbwy
Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.

מטול מן דמשכח לי משכח חיי ותהוי ליה רעותא מן קדם אלהא:
alha qdm mn rewtha lyh wthhwy khyy mshkkh ly dmshkkh mn mTwl
For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
