ܒܪܝ ܛܪ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܘܦܘܩ̈ܕܢܝ ܐܛܫܐ ܒܠܒܟ

My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you.

ܛܪ ܦܘܩ̈ܕܢܝ ܘܚܝܝ ܘܢܡܘܣܝ ܐܝܟ ܒܒܬܐ ܕܥܝܢܐ
deyn' bbth' 'yk wnmwsy wkhyy pwqdny Tr
Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.

ܩܛܘܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܨܘܪܟ ܘܟܬܘܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܠ ܠܘܚ̈ܐ ܕܠܒܟ
dlbk lwkh' el 'nwn wkthwb btswrk 'nwn qTwr
Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܚܟܡܬܐ ܚܬܝ ܐܢܬܝ ܘܠܣܘܟܠܐ ܩܪܝ ܡܕܥܐ
mde' qry wlswkl' 'nthy khthy lkhkmth' w'mr
Tell wisdom, “You are my sister.” Call understanding your relative,

ܕܢܢܛܪܟ ܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܢܘܟܪܝܬܐ ܕܡܫ̈ܕܠܢܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܝܗ̇

that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܟܘܬܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ̇ ܘܡܢ ܟܣܣܛܪܘܢ ܐܕܝܩܬ

For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice.

ܘܚܙܬ ܫܒܪ̈ܐ ܘܚܪܬ ܒ̈ܛܠܝܐ ܘܒܚܣܝܪ̈ܝ ܪܥܝܢܐ

I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,

ܕܥܒܪܝܢ ܒܫܘܩܐ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܙܘܝܬ̈ܐ ܕܫܒܝ̈ܠܝ ܒܝܬܗ̇

ܒܪܡܫܐ ܒܡܥܪ̈ܒܝ ܫܡܫܐ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܠܠܝܐ ܘܒܥܡܛܢܐ

ܘܢܦܩܬ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܐܘܪܥܗ ܒܐܣܟܝܡܐ ܕܙܢܝܬܐ ܕܡܦܪܕܐ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܥ̈ܠܝܡܐ

ܘܡܪܘܕܝܐ ܘܐܣܘܛܝܐ ܘܒܒܝܬܗ̇ ܪ̈ܓܠܝܗ̇ ܠܐ ܫ̈ܠܝܢ

ܐܠܐ ܒܙܒܢ ܠܒܪ ܦܗܝܐ ܘܒܙܒܢ ܒܫ̈ܘܩܐ ܘܒ̈ܙܘܝܬܐ ܟܡܢܐ

ܘܐܚܕܬܗ ܘܢܫܩܬܗ ܘܐܚܨܦܬ ܐ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ

ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܫ̈ܠܡܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܦܪܥܬ ܢܕܪ̈ܝ

ܡܛܘܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܦܩܬ ܠܐܘܪܥܟ ܕܡܣܟܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܡܚܙܝܟ ܘܐܫܟܚܬܟ

Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

ܒܬܫܘܝܬܐ ܫܘܝܬ ܥܪܣܝ ܘܒܩܪ̈ܡܐ ܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܩܪܡܬܗ̇

I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

ܘܪܣܬ ܥܠ ܥܪܣܝ ܡܘܪܐ ܘܟܘܪܟܡܐ ܘܩܘܢܡܐ
wqwnm' wkwrkm' mwr' ersy el wrsth
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

ܬܐ ܢܬܒܣܡ ܒܪܚܡܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܨܦܪܐ ܘܢܥܦܩ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܒܪܓܬܐ

Come, let’s take our fill of loving until the morning. Let’s solace ourselves with loving.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܓܒܪܝ ܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܪܚܝܩܬܐ

ܘܨܪܪܐ ܕܟܣܦܐ ܫܩܠ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܠܝ̈ܘܡܬܐ ܗܘ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܐܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ

ܘܐܛܥܝܬܗ ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܝܗ̇ ܘܒܫܘܘܕܠܐ ܕܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ̇ ܠܘܬܗ̇ ܢܬܦܬܗ

ܘܐܝܟ ܐܝܠܐ ܕܡܦܪܚ ܓܐܪܐ ܒܟܒܕܗ ܘܡܣܬܪܗܒ ܐܝܟ ܚܝܘܬ ܟܢܦܐ ܠܦܚܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܕܠܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܢܦܫܗ ܐܙܠ
'zl dnpshh hw dlmwth' yde wl' lpkh' knp' khywth 'yk wmsthrhb bkbdh g'r' dmprkh 'yl' w'yk
Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn’t know that it will cost his life.

ܡܟܝܠ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܫܘܡܥܘܢܝ ܘܨܘܬܘ ܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܕܦܘܡܝ

ܠܐ ܢܨܛܠܐ ܠܒܟ ܠܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܥܐ ܒܫ̈ܒܝܠܝܗ̇

Don’t let your heart turn to her ways. Don’t go astray in her paths,

ܡܛܠ ܕܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܐܪܡܝܬ ܘܥܫܝܢ̈ܝܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܩ̈ܛܝܠܝܗ̇
qTylyh kwlhwn weshynyn 'rmyth dqTyl' dswg'' mTl
for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.
