ܫܡܥܘ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܡܪܕܘܬܗ ܕܐܒܐ ܘܨܘܬܘ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܣܘܟܠܐ
wswkl' ydeth' wtswthw d'b' mrdwthh bny' shmew
Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܛܒܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܢܡܘܣܝ ܠܐ ܬܫܒܩܘܢ
thshbqwn l' nmwsy lkwn yhbth Tb' dywlpn' mTl
for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my law.

ܒܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܐܒܝ ܡܦܢܩܐ ܘܝܚܝܕܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܡܝ
'my qdm wykhyd' mpnq' l'by hwyth gyr br'
For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.

ܘܐܠܦܢܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܬܬܚܝܠ ܡܠܬܝ ܒܠܒܟ ܛܪ ܦܘܩ̈ܕܢܝ ܘܚܝܝ ܘܢܡܘܣܝ ܐܝܟ ܒܒܬܐ ܕܥܝܢܐ
deyn' bbth' 'yk wnmwsy wkhyy pwqdny Tr blbk mlthy ththkhyl ly w'mr w'lpny
He taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live.

ܩܢܝ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܩܢܝ ܣܘܟܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܡܐܡܪܗ ܕܦܘܡܝ
dpwmy m'mrh mn thsT' wl' swkl' wqny khkmth' qny
Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.

ܠܐ ܬܫܒܩܝܗ̇ ܕܬܢܛܪܟ ܪܚܡܝܗ̇ ܕܬܫܘܙܒܟ
dthshwzbk rkhmyh dthnTrk thshbqyh l'
Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you.

ܪܝܫ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܩܢܝ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܒܟܠܗ ܩܢܝܢܟ ܩܢܝ ܣܘܟܠܐ

Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.

ܚܒܒܝܗ̇ ܕܬܪܡܪܡܟ ܘܥܦܩܝܗ̇ ܕܬܝܩܪܟ
dthyqrk wepqyh dthrmrmk khbbyh
Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.

ܘܬܣܝܡ ܒܪܝܫܟ ܝܐܝܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܦܐ ܘܒܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܐ ܬܣܒܥܟ
thsbek dshwbkh' wbklyl' drwkhp' y'ywth' bryshk wthsym
She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”

ܫܡܥ ܒܪܝ ܘܩܒܠ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܘܢܣ̈ܓܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܚܝ̈ܝܟ
dkhyyk shny' wnsgyn mly wqbl bry shme
Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.

ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܕܚܟܡܬܐ ܐܠܦܬܟ ܘܗܠܟܬܟ ܒܫ̈ܒܝܠܐ ܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ
thryts' bshbyl' whlkthk 'lpthk dkhkmth' 'wrkhth'
I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.

ܘܡܐ ܕܡܗܠܟ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܢܙܘܥ̈ܢ ܗ̈ܠܟܬܟ ܘܐܢ ܪܗܛ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܬܩܠ
ththql l' 'nth rhT w'n hlkthk nzwen l' 'nth dmhlk wm'
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.

ܚܡܣܢ ܒܡܪܕܘܬܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܒܩܝܗ̇ ܛܪܝܗ̇ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܝ ܗܝ ܚܝ̈ܝܟ
khyyk hy dhy mTl Tryh thshbqyh wl' bmrdwthy khmsn
Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.

ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚ̈ܛܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܙܠ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܢ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܒܝܫ̈ܐ
dbysh' b'wrkh' thTn wl' th'zl l' dkhTy' b'wrkh'
Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.

ܘܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܫܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܒܗ ܐܠܐ ܣܛܝ ܘܥܒܪ ܡܢܗ
mnh webr sTy 'l' bh thebr l' dshryn wb'thr'
Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܥܒܕܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܦܪܝܕܐ ܗܝ ܫܢܬܗܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܥܒܕܝܢ ܨܒܝܢܗܘܢ
tsbynhwn debdyn edm' shnthhwn hy wpryd' byshth' debdyn edm' dmkyn gyr l'
For they don’t sleep unless they do evil. Their sleep is taken away, unless they make someone fall.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܐܟܘܠܬܗܘܢ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܕܥܬܐ ܫܬܝܢ
shthyn deth' wkhmr' dewl' hy m'kwlth' dm'kwlthhwn mTl
For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܡܙܗܪܐ ܘܐܙܠ ܢܘܗܪܗ̇ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܩܢ ܝܘܡܐ
ywm' dthqn edm' nwhrh w'zl mzhr' nwhr' 'yk dzdyq' dyn 'wrkh'
But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light that shines more and more until the perfect day.

ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܪ̈ܫܝܥܐ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܒܡܢܐ ܡܬܬܩܠܝܢ
mththqlyn bmn' ydeyn wl' hy khshwk' drshye' dyn 'wrkh'
The way of the wicked is like darkness. They don’t know what they stumble over.

ܒܪܝ ܨܘܬ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܘܠܡܐܡܪܝ ܐܪܟܢ ܐܕܢܟ
'dnk 'rkn wlm'mry mly tswth bry
My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings.

ܠܐ ܢ̈ܙܠܢ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܐܠܐ ܛܪ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܓܘܗ ܕܠܒܟ
dlbk bgwh 'nyn Tr 'l' beynyk nzln l'
Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart.

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܝ̈ܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܫܟܚ ܠܗܝܢ ܘܒܣܪܗ ܟܠܗ ܡܐܣܐ
m's' klh wbsrh lhyn dmshkkh lmn 'nyn dkhy' mTl
For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.

ܒܟܠ ܙܘܗܪ ܛܪ ܠܒܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢܗ ܗܘ ܡܦܩܢܐ ܕܚܝ̈ܐ
dkhy' mpqn' hw dmnh mTl lbk Tr zwhr bkl
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.

ܐܥܒܪ ܡܢܟ ܦܘܡܐ ܥܩܝܡܐ ܘܪܢܝܐ ܕܥܬܐ ܐܪܚܩ ܡܢ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܟ

Put away from yourself a perverse mouth. Put corrupt lips far from you.

ܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܒܬܪܝܨܘܬܐ ܢܚܘܪ̈ܢ ܘܬܡܪ̈ܝܟ ܢܬܪܨܘܢ ܠܩܘܒܠܟ
lqwblk nthrtswn wthmryk nkhwrn bthrytswth' eynyk
Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you.

ܐܥܒܪ ܪܓܠܟ ܡܢ ܫ̈ܒܝܠܐ ܒܝܫ̈ܐ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟ ܢܬܩ̈ܢܢ
nthqnn 'wrkhthk wklhyn bysh' shbyl' mn rglk 'ebr
Make the path of your feet level. Let all of your ways be established.

ܠܐ ܬܣܛܐ ܠܝܡܝܢܐ ܘܠܣܡܠܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܥܒܪ ܪܓܠܟ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ

Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.
