ܒܪܝ ܠܐ ܬܛܥܐ ܢܡܘܣܝ ܘܦܘܩ̈ܕܢܝ ܢܛܪ ܠܒܟ
lbk nTr wpwqdny nmwsy thTe' l' bry
My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,

ܡܛܠ ܕܢܘܓܪܐ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܘܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܢܬܬܘܣ̈ܦܢ ܠܟ
lk nththwspn dkhy' wshny' dywmth' dnwgr' mTl
for they will add to you length of days, years of life, and peace.

ܘܫܠܡܐ ܘܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܩܘܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܢܫܒܩܘܢܟ ܐܠܐ ܩܛܘܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܨܘܪܟ ܘܟܬܘܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܠ ܠܘܚ̈ܐ ܕܠܒܟ
dlbk lwkh' el 'nwn wkthwb btswrk 'nwn qTwr 'l' nshbqwnk l' wqwshth' wTybwth' wshlm'
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.

ܕܬܫܟܚ ܪ̈ܚܡܐ ܘܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܣܘܟܠܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܩܕܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bny wqdm 'lh' qdm wswkl' wTybwth' rkhm' dthshkkh
So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

ܣܒܪ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܠܒܟ ܘܥܠ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܕܢܦܫܟ ܠܐ ܬܬܟܠ

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.

ܕܥܝܗܝ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟ ܘܗ̣ܘ ܬܪܨ ܫܒܝ̈ܠܝܟ
shbylyk thrts whw 'wrkhthk bklhyn deyhy
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

ܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܚܟܝܡ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܢܦܫܟ ܐܠܐ ܕܚܠ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܣܛܝ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' mn wsTy mry' mn dkhl 'l' npshk beyny khkym thhw' l'
Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.

ܕܬܗܘܐ ܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܠܒܣܪܟ ܘܕܘܗܢܐ ܠܓܪ̈ܡܝܟ
lgrmyk wdwhn' lbsrk 'sywth' dthhw'
It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.

ܝܩܪ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܢܝܢܟ ܘܡܢ ܪܝܫ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܥ̈ܠܠܬܟ
ellthk klhyn rysh wmn qnynk mn lmry' yqr
Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase;

ܘܢܬܡܠܘܢ ܐܘܨܪ̈ܝܟ ܣܒܥܐ ܘܡܥܨܪ̈ܬܟ ܢܒ̈ܥܢ ܚܡܪܐ
khmr' nben wmetsrthk sbe' 'wtsryk wnthmlwn
so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

ܒܪܝ ܡܪܕܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܣܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܡܐܢ ܠܟ ܒܡܟܣܢܘܬܗ
bmksnwthh lk thm'n wl' thsl' l' dmry' mrdwthh bry
My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction;

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܠܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܪܕܐ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܐܒܐ ܕܪܕܐ ܠܒܪܗ
lbrh drd' 'b' 'yk lh rd' mry' lh drkhm dlmn mTl
for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.

ܛܘܒܘܗܝ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܐܫܟܚ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܠܒܪ ܒܣܪܐ ܕܐܫܟܚ ܣܘܟܠܐ

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܬܐܓܘܪܬܗ̇ ܡܢ ܬܐܓܘܪܬܐ ܕܣܐܡܐ ܘܡܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܣܢܝܢܐ ܡܝܬܪ̈ܢ ܥ̈ܠܠܬܗ̇
ellthh mythrn snyn' dhb' wmn ds'm' th'gwrth' mn th'gwrthh hy dTb' mTl
For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold.

ܝܩܝܪܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܦܚܡ ܠܗ̇
lh pkhm l' wmdm Tbth' k'p' mn gyr hy yqyr'
She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.

ܢܘܓܪܐ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܒܝܡܝܢܗ̇ ܘܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܐܝܩܪܐ ܒܣܡܠܗ̇
bsmlh w'yqr' wewthr' bymynh dywmth' nwgr'
Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor.

ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ̇ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܒܣܝ̈ܡܬܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܫ̈ܒܝܠܝܗ̇ ܫܠܡܐ
shlm' shbylyh wklhwn bsymth' 'nyn 'wrkhth' 'wrkhthh
Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace.

ܐܝܠܢܐ ܗܝ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܚܡ̈ܣܢܝܢ ܒܗ̇ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܣܟܝܢ ܠܗ̇ ܛ̇ܘܒܝܗܘܢ
Twbyhwn lh dmskyn w'ylyn bh dmkhmsnyn l'ylyn dkhy' hy 'yln'
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her.

ܡܪܝܐ ܒܚܟܡܬܗ ܣܡ ܫܬܐ̈ܣܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܒܣܘܟܠܗ
bswklh shmy' w'thqn d're' shth'syh sm bkhkmthh mry'
By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth. By understanding, he established the heavens.

ܘܒܝܕܥܬܗ ܐܬܒܙܥܘ ܬܗ̈ܘܡܐ ܘܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܪܣ ܛܠܐ
Tl' rs wenn' thhwm' 'thbzew wbydethh
By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.

ܒܪܝ ܠܐ ܢܙܠ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܠܡܛܪ ܝܘܠܦܢܝ ܘܬܪ̈ܥܝܬܝ
wthreythy ywlpny lmTr beynyk nzl l' bry
My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion,

ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܚ̈ܝܐ ܠܢܦܫܟ ܘܪܘܚܦܐ ܠܨܘܪܟ
ltswrk wrwkhp' lnpshk khy' wnhwwn
so they will be life to your soul, and grace for your neck.

ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܬܗܠܟ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟ ܒܣܒܪܐ ܘܒܪܓܠܟ ܠܐ ܬܬܩܠ

Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.

ܘܬܕܡܟ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܘܬܫܟܒ ܘܬܒܣܡ ܠܟ ܫܢܬܟ
shnthk lk wthbsm wthshkb thdkhl wl' wthdmk
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.

ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܡܢ ܕܠܘܚܝܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܚܐܦܐ ܕܚ̈ܛܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܐ
d'th' m' dkhTy' kh'p' wmn shly' dmn dlwkhy' mn thdkhl wl'
Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes;

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܡܟ ܘܢܢܛܪ ܪܓܠܟ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܨܝܕ
ththtsyd dl' rglk wnnTr emk nhw' dmry' mTl
for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.

ܠܐ ܬܬܟܠܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܟܡܐ ܕܣܦܩܐ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝܟ ܠܡܥܒܕ
lmebd b'ydyk dspq' km' dshpyr lmebd ththkl' l'
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

ܘܟܕ ܐܝܬ ܠܟ ܠܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܠܚܒܪܟ ܕܙܠ ܘܬܐ ܬܘܒ ܡܚܪ ܘܐܬܠ ܠܟ
lk w'thl mkhr thwb wth' dzl lkhbrk th'mr l' lk 'yth wkd
Don’t say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it to you,” when you have it by you.

ܠܐ ܬܬܚܫܒ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܥܠ ܚܒܪܟ ܕܝܬܒ ܥܡܟ ܒܫܠܝܐ
bshly' emk dythb khbrk el byshth' ththkhshb l'
Don’t devise evil against your neighbor, since he dwells securely by you.

ܠܐ ܬܕܘܢ ܥܡ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܒܥܬܐ
beth' brnsh' em thdwn l'
Don’t strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.
31
ܘܠܐ ܬܛܢ ܒܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܨܒܐ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ
'wrkhthh bklhyn thtsb' wl' ewl' bgbr' thTn wl'
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways.

ܡܛܠ ܕܛܡܐ ܗܘ ܥܘܠܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܘ̈ܥܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ
thryts' em dmry' wshweythh mry' qdm ewl' hw dTm' mTl
For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.

ܠܘܛܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܒܬ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܘܕܝܪܗܘܢ ܕܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܢܒܪܟ
nbrk dzdyq' wdyrhwn dewl' bbthyhwn dmry' lwTthh
Yahweh’s curse is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the righteous.

ܘܢܣܚܘܦ ܠܡܡܝ̈ܩܢܐ ܘܥܠ ܚܟܝ̈ܡܐ ܢܪܚܦ
nrkhp khkym' wel lmmyqn' wnskhwp
Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble.

ܐܝܩܪܐ ܢܐܪܬܘܢ ܚܟܝ̈ܡܐ ܘܣܟ̈ܠܐ ܢܩܒܠܘܢ ܨܥܪܐ
tser' nqblwn wskl' khkym' n'rthwn 'yqr'
The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.
