ܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܕܡܘܐܝܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܪܕܬܗ ܐܡܗ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ
lh w'mrth 'mh drdthh nby' mlk' dmw'yl mlwhy
The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:

ܝܝ ܒܪܝ ܘܝܝ ܒܪ ܟܪܣܝ ܘܝܝ ܒܪ ܢܕܪ̈ܝ
ndry br wyy krsy br wyy bry yy
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!

ܠܐ ܬܬܠ ܚܝܠܟ ܠܢܫ̈ܐ ܘܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟ ܠܡܐ̈ܟܠܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܐ
dmlk' lm'klth' w'wrkhthk lnsh' khylk ththl l'
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

ܡܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܡܘܐܝܠ ܐܙܕܗܪ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܫ̈ܬܝܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܡܢ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܕܫܬܝܢ ܫܟܪܐ
shkr' dshthyn shlyTn' wmn khmr' dshthyn mlk' mn 'zdhr mw'yl mlk' mn
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’

ܕܠܐ ܬܫܬܐ ܘܬܛܥܐ ܠܡܒܕܩܢܐ ܘܬܛܥܐ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ
mskn' bny dklhwn dyn' wthTe' lmbdqn' wthTe' thshth' dl'
lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.

ܡܬܝܗܒ ܫܟܪܐ ܠܐ̈ܒܝܠܐ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܠܡܪ̈ܝܪܝ ܢܦܫܐ
npsh' lmryry wkhmr' l'byl' shkr' mthyhb
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.

ܕܢܫܬܘܢ ܘܢܛܥܘܢ ܟܐ̈ܒܝܗܘܢ ܘܥܩ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܬܕܟܪܘܢ
nthdkrwn l' thwb weqthhwn k'byhwn wnTewn dnshthwn
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

ܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܟ ܒܡܠܬܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܘܕܘܢ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝܐ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ
ewl' bny' lklhwn wdwn dqwshth' bmlth' pwmk pthkh
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.

ܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܟ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܕܘܢ ܠܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܠܒܝ̇ܫ̈ܐ
wlbysh' lmskn' wdwn zdyq' bdyn' pwmk pthkh
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”

ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܫܝܪܬܐ ܡܢܘ ܡܫܟܚ ܝܩܝܪܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܕܕܡ̈ܝܢ ܠܝܬ ܠܗܝܢ
lhyn lyth ddmyn Tbth' k'p' mn gyr hy yqyr' mshkkh mnw kshyrth' 'nthth'
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.

ܘܬܟܝܠ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܠܒܗ ܕܒܥܠܗ̇ ܘܐܣܢܐ ܠܐ ܚܣܪ ܠܗ̇
lh khsr l' w'sn' dbelh lbh elyh wthkyl
The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.

ܥܒܕܬ ܠܗ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܝܫܬ̈ܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܘܗܝ
dkhywhy ywmth' klhwn byshth' wl' Tbth' lh ebdth
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

ܒܥܬ ܥܡܪܐ ܘܟܬܢܐ. ܘܥܒܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗ̇ ܐܝܟ ܨܒܝܢܗ̇
tsbynh 'yk 'ydyh webd wkthn' emr' beth
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.

ܗܘܬ ܐܝܟ ܐܠܦܐ ܕܬܓܪܐ. ܕܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܐܬܝܐ ܬܐܓܘܪܬܗ̇
th'gwrthh 'thy' rwkhq' dmn dthgr' 'lp' 'yk hwth
She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.

ܘܩܡܬ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܝܗܒܬ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܝܬܗ̇ ܘܥ̇ܒܕܐ ܠܛܠܝ̈ܬܗ̇
lTlythh webd' bythh lbny m'kwlth' wyhbth blly' wqmth
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.

ܘܚܪܬ ܒܦܘܠܚܢܐ ܘܙܒܢܬܗ ܘܡܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܐ̈ܝܕܝܗ̇ ܢܨܒܬ ܟܪܡܐ
krm' ntsbth d'ydyh p'r' wmn wzbnthh bpwlkhn' wkhrth
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.

ܘܐܣܪܬ ܚ̈ܨܝܗ̇ ܒܥܘܫܢܐ ܘܫܪܪܬ ܕܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇
dreyh wshrrth bewshn' khtsyh w'srth
She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.

ܘܛܥܡܬ ܕܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܬܐܓܘܪܬܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܕܥܟ ܗܘܐ ܫܪܓܗ̇ ܠܠܝܐ ܟܠܗ

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.

ܕܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܐܘܫܛܬ ܒܟܫܝܪܘܬܐ ܘܐ̈ܝܕܝܗ̇ ܠܡܘܥܙܠܐ
lmwezl' w'ydyh bkshyrwth' 'wshTth dreyh
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗ̇ ܦܫܛܬ ܠܡ̈ܣܟܢܐ ܘܕܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܐܘܫܛܬ ܠܒܝ̇ܫ̈ܐ
lbysh' 'wshTth wdreyh lmskn' pshTth 'ydyh
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.

ܘܠܐ ܕܚܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܝܬܗ̇ ܡܢ ܬܠܓܐ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܠܒܝܫ̈ܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܙܚܘܪ̈ܝܬܐ
zkhwryth' hww lbyshyn dklhwn mTwl thlg' mn bythh bny hww dkhlyn wl'
She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

ܬܫܘܝܬܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܗ̇ ܘܢܚ̈ܬܐ ܕܒܘܨܐ ܘܕܐܪܓܘܢܐ
wd'rgwn' dbwts' wnkhth' lh ebdth thshwyth'
She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

ܝܕܝܥ ܗܘܐ ܒܥܠܗ̇ ܒܝܢ̈ܬ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܟܕ ܝܬܒ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܣ̈ܒܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' sb' byth hw' ythb kd mdynth' bynth belh hw' ydye
Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.

ܟܬܢܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܘܙܒܢܬ ܘܐܣܪ ܚ̈ܨܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܠܟܢܥ̈ܢܝܐ
lkneny' yhbth khts' w'sr wzbnth ebdth kthn'
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.

ܥܘܫܢܐ ܘܗܕܪܐ ܠܒܘܫܗ̇ ܘܬܚܕܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ
'khry' bywm' wthkhd' lbwshh whdr' ewshn'
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.

ܦܘܡܗ̇ ܦܬܚܬ ܒܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܪ̈ܚܡܐ ܥܠ ܠܫܢܗ̇
lshnh el drkhm' wnmws' bkhkmth' pthkhth pwmh
She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.

ܘܓ̈ܠܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ̇ ܠܚܡܗ̇ ܚܒܢܢܐܝܬ ܠܐ ܐܟܠܬ
'klth l' khbnn'yth lkhmh dbythh 'wrkhth' wglyn
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.

ܩܡܘ ܒܢܝ̈ܗ̇ ܘܝܗܒܘ ܠܗ̇ ܛܘܒܐ ܘܒܥܠܗ̇ ܫܒܚܗ̇

Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:

ܘܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܒ̈ܢܬܗ̇ ܩ̈ܢܝ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܐܢܬܝ ܥܒܪܬܝ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܝܢ

“Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”

ܕܓܠܐ ܗܝ ܝܐܝܘܬܐ ܘܣܪܝܩ ܗܘ ܫܘܦܪܐ ܘܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܕܚܠܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܝ ܬܫܬܒܚ
thshthbkh hy mry' mn ddkhl' w'nthth' shwpr' hw wsryq y'ywth' hy dgl'
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.
