ܓܒܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܩܒܠ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܘܩܫܐ ܩܕܠܗ ܒܥܓܠ ܢܬܬܒܪ ܘܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܐܣܝܘܬܐ
'sywth' lh thhw' wl' nththbr begl qdlh wqsh' mksnwth' mqbl dl' gbr'
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܣܓܐ ܥܡܐ ܘܒܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܢܬܬܢܚ ܥܡܐ
em' nththnkh dewl' wbshwlTn' em' sg' dzdyq' bswg''
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

ܓܒܪܐ ܕܪܚܡ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܢܚܕܐ ܠܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܕܪܥܐ ܒܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܢܘܒܕ ܩܢܝܢܗ
qnynh nwbd bznywth' wdre' l'bwhy nkhd' khkmth' drkhm gbr'
Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

ܡܠܟܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܡܩܝܡ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܡܚܣܪ ܠܗ̇
lh mkhsr ewl' wgbr' 're' mqym bdyn' mlk'
The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.

ܓܒܪܐ ܕܡܬܦܠܓ ܥܠ ܚܒܪܗ ܡܨܝܕܬܐ ܦܪܣ ܥܠ ܗ̈ܠܟܬܗ

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.

ܓܒܪܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܒܥܘ̣ܠܗ ܡܬܬܨܝܕ ܘܙܕܝܩܐ ܢܫܒܚ ܘܢܚܕܐ
wnkhd' nshbkh wzdyq' mththtsyd bewlh bysh' gbr'
An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.

ܙܕܝܩܐ ܓܝܪ ܝܕܥ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܥܘܠܐ ܠܐ ܡܣܬܟܠ ܝܕܥܬܐ
ydeth' msthkl l' wewl' dmskn' dyn' yde gyr zdyq'
The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.

ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܡܡܝ̈ܩܢܐ ܡܘܩܕܝܢ ܟܪ̈ܟܐ ܘܚܟܝ̈ܡܐ ܡܗܦܟܝܢ ܪܘܓܙܐ
rwgz' mhpkyn wkhkym' krk' mwqdyn mmyqn' gbr'
Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.

ܓܒܪܐ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܕܐ̇ܢ ܥܡ ܓܒܪܐ ܣܟܠܐ ܘܪܓܙ ܘܓܚܟ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܬܦܝܪ
mththpyr wl' wgkhk wrgz skl' gbr' em d'n khkym' gbr'
If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.

ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܐܫ̈ܕܝ ܕܡܐ ܣܢܝܢ ܠܚܣܝܐ ܘܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܪ̈ܚܡܝܢ ܠܗ
lh rkhmyn wzdyq' lkhsy' snyn dm' 'shdy gbr'
The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.

ܚܡܬܗ ܟܠܗ̇ ܡܦܩ ܣܟܠܐ ܘܚܟܝܡܐ ܒܪܥܝܢܗ ܡܬܚܫܒ
mthkhshb breynh wkhkym' skl' mpq klh khmthh
A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.

ܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܫܡܥ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܓܠܬܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦ̈ܠܚܘܗܝ ܥܘܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn ewlyn plkhwhy klhwn dglth' mlth' dshme shlyT'
If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.

ܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܡܟܐܒܐ ܦܓܥܘ ܚܕ ܒܚܕ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܡܢܗܪ ܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ
dthryhwn eyn' mnhr wmry' bkhd khd pgew wmk'b' mskn'
The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: Yahweh gives sight to the eyes of both.

ܡܠܟܐ ܕܕܐ̇ܢ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܢܬܩܢ
nthqn bdyn' kwrsyh bqwshth' dd'n mlk'
The king who fairly judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.

ܫܒܛܐ ܘܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܝܗܒܝܢ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܛܠܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܪܕܐ ܡܒܗܬ ܠܐܡܗ
l'mh mbhth rd' dl' wTly' khkmth' yhbyn wmksnwth' shbT'
The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

ܒܣܘܓܐܗܘܢ ܕܥ̇ܘܠ̈ܐ ܣܓܐ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܙܕܝ̈ܩܐ ܢܚܕܘܢ ܒܡܦܘܠܬܗܘܢ
bmpwlthhwn nkhdwn wzdyq' ewl' sg' dewl' bswg'hwn
When the wicked increase, sin increases; but the righteous will see their downfall.

ܪܕܝ ܒܪܟ ܘܢܢܝܚܟ ܘܢܒܣܡ ܢܦܫܟ
npshk wnbsm wnnykhk brk rdy
Correct your son, and he will give you peace; yes, he will bring delight to your soul.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܬܬܪܥ ܥܡܐ ܘܕܢܛܪ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܛܘܒܘܗܝ
Twbwhy nmws' wdnTr em' mththre dewl' bswg''
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed.

ܒܡ̈ܠܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܪܕܐ ܥܒ̣ܕܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܓܝܪ ܕܠܐ ܒܠܥ
ble dl' gyr yde ebd' mthrd' l' bml'
A servant can’t be corrected by words. Though he understands, yet he will not respond.

ܐܢ ܚܙܝܬ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܡܣܪܗܒ ܒܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܕܥ ܕܛܒ ܗܘ ܡܢܗ ܣܟܠܐ
skl' mnh hw dTb de bmlwhy dmsrhb gbr' khzyth 'n
Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

ܕܡܬܦܢܩ ܡܢ ܛܠܝܘܬܗ ܥܒ̣ܕܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܘܒܐܚܪܝܬܗ ܢܬܬܢܚ
nththnkh wb'khrythh nhw' ebd' Tlywthh mn dmthpnq
He who pampers his servant from youth will have him become a son in the end.

ܓܒܪܐ ܚܡܬܢܐ ܡܓܪܓ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܪܓܘܙܬܢܐ ܡܣܓܐ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ

An angry man stirs up strife, and a wrathful man abounds in sin.

ܪܡܘܬܗ ܕܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܬܡܟܟܝܘܗܝ ܘܡܟܝܟܘܬܗ ܬܣܓܐ ܠܗ ܐܝܩܪܐ

A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.

ܕܦܠܓ ܥܡ ܓܢܒܐ ܣܢܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܦܣܩܝܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܡܘ̈ܡܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܘܕܐ
mwd' wl' mwmth' elwhy wpsqyn npshh sn' gnb' em dplg
Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.

ܥܘ̣ܠܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܬܘܩܠܬܐ ܘܕܬܟܝܠ ܥܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܢܥܫܢ

The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.

ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ

Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man’s justice comes from Yahweh.
