ܢܥܪܩܘܢ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܟܕ ܠܝܬ ܕܪܕܦ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܙܕܝ̈ܩܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܪܝܐ ܢܬܬܟܠܘܢ
nththklwn 'ry' 'yk wzdyq' lhwn drdp lyth kd ewl' nerqwn
The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

ܒܥܘ̣ܠܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܣܓ̈ܝܢ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܝܗ̇ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܙܕܝܩ̈ܐ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܢܓܪܘܢ
ngrwn k'nwth' dydeyn zdyq' 'nsh' wbny shlyTnyh sgyn d're' bewlh
In rebellion, a land has many rulers, but order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge.

ܓܒܪܐ ܡܣܟܢܐ ܕܬܐܟ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܛܪܐ ܚܒܝܛܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܒܗ ܝܘܬܪܢ
ywthrn bh dlyth khbyT' mTr' 'yk lmskn' dth'k mskn' gbr'
A needy man who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain which leaves no crops.

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܒܩܝܢ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܡܫܬܒܚܝܢ ܒܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܢܛܪܝܢ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܡܥܫܢܝܢ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ
npshhwn meshnyn nmws' dnTryn w'ylyn bewl' mshthbkhyn nmws' dshbqyn 'ylyn
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked; but those who keep the law contend with them.

ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܒܝ̈ܫܐ ܠܐ ܡܣܬܟܠܝܢ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܕܒܥܝܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ
Tbth' klhyn ydeyn lmry' wdbeyn dyn' msthklyn l' bysh' gbr'
Evil men don’t understand justice; but those who seek Yahweh understand it fully.

ܡܣܟܢܐ ܡܗܠܟ ܒܬܡܝܡܘܬܐ ܘܥܬܝܪܐ ܡܥܩ̈ܡܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ
'wrkhthh meqmn wethyr' bthmymwth' mhlk mskn'
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich.

ܕܢܛܪ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܣܟܘܠܬܢܐ ܘܕܦܠܚ ܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܒܗܬ ܠܐܒܘܗܝ
l'bwhy mbhth sryqwth' wdplkh skwlthn' hw br' nmws' dnTr
Whoever keeps the law is a wise son; but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

ܕܡܣܓܐ ܩܢܝܢܗ ܡܢ ܩܨܨܐ ܘܡܢ ܪܒܝܬܐ ܢܫܒܩܝܘܗܝ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܪܚܡ ܥܠ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ
mskn' el dmrkhm lmn nshbqywhy rbyth' wmn qtsts' mn qnynh dmsg'
He who increases his wealth by excessive interest gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.

ܕܡܣܟܪ ܐ̈ܕܢܘܗܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܡܥ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܐܦ ܨܠܘܬܗ ܛܡܐܐ ܗܝ
hy Tm'' tslwthh 'p nmws' nshme dl' 'dnwhy dmskr
He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

ܕܡܛܥܐ ܬܪܝܨܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܒܓܘܡܨܐ ܢܦܠ ܘܬܡ̈ܝܡܐ ܢܐܪܬܘܢ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ
Tbth' n'rthwn wthmym' npl bgwmts' byshth' b'wrkh' thryts' dmTe'
Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he will fall into his own trap; but the blameless will inherit good.

ܓܒܪܐ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܚܟܝܡ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܡܣܟܢܐ ܣܟܘܠܬܢܐ ܒܣܪ ܠܗ
lh bsr skwlthn' wmskn' npshh beyny khkym ethyr' gbr'
The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor who has understanding sees through him.

ܒܥܘܫܢܐ ܕܙܕܝ̈ܩܐ ܣܓܝܐ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܘܒܩܘܡܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܬܒܨܪܐ
mthbtsr' dewl' wbqwm' thshbwkhth' sgy' dzdyq' bewshn'
When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܡܟܣܐ ܥܘ̣ܠܗ ܠܐ ܢܨܠܚ ܘܕܡܘܕܐ ܒܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܘܥܒܪ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܢܬܪܚܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' elwhy nthrkhm mnhwn webr bkhThwhy wdmwd' ntslkh l' ewlh dmks' 'nsh' br
He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

ܛܘܒܘܗܝ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܕܚܠ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܘܐܝܢܐ ܕܡܩܫܐ ܠܒܗ ܢܦܠ ܒܒܝܫܬܐ
bbyshth' npl lbh dmqsh' w'yn' bklzbn ddkhl lbrnsh' Twbwhy
Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

ܐܪܝܐ ܢܗܡ ܘܕܒܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܩܠܐ ܕܐܫܬܠܛ ܥܘܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܡܣܟܢܐ
mskn' em' el ewl' d'shthlT ql' yhbth wdb' nhm 'ry'
As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.

ܫܠܝܛܐ ܚܣܝܪ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܝܢ ܬܘܟ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܐܝܢܐ ܕܣܢܐ ܢܟܠܐ ܢܓܪܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܗ

A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܚܫܝܫ ܒܕܡܐ ܕܢܦܫܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܒ̈ܝܐ ܢܥܪܘܩ ܘܠܐ ܢܥܕܪܘܢܗ
nedrwnh wl' nerwq lgby' edm' dnpsh' bdm' dkhshysh brnsh'
A man who is tormented by blood guilt will be a fugitive until death. No one will support him.

ܕܡܗܠܟ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܢܬܦܪܩ ܘܕܡܥܩ̈ܡܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܢܦܠ ܒܓܘܡܨܐ

Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.

ܕܦܠܚ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܢܣܒܥ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܕܪܗܛ ܒܬܪ ܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܢܣܒܥ ܡܣܟܢܘܬܐ
msknwth' nsbe sryqwth' bthr wdrhT lkhm' nsbe b're' dplkh
One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

ܓܒܪܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܣܓܝܐ̈ܢ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܬܗ ܘܒܝܫܐ ܒܥܘ̣ܠܗ ܠܐ ܢܬܚܣܐ
nthkhs' l' bewlh wbysh' bwrkthh sgy'n mhymn' gbr'
A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.

ܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܣܒ ܒܐ̈ܦܐ ܠܐ ܫܦܝܪ ܒܩܨܝܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܠܚܡܐ ܡܫܠܡ ܓܒܪܐ
gbr' mshlm dlkhm' gyr bqtsy' shpyr l' b'p' dnsb gbr'
To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.

ܡܣܬܪܗܒ ܠܡܥܬܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܒܝܫܐ ܥܝܢܗ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܕܚܘܣܪܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ
elwhy 'th' dkhwsrn' yde wl' eynh dbysh' gbr' lmethr msthrhb
A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.

ܕܡܟܣ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܪ̈ܚܡܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܡܦܠܓ ܒܠܫܢܗ

One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.

ܕܚܛܦ ܡܢ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܡܢ ܐܡܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܝ ܚ̈ܛܗܐ ܫܘܬܦܐ ܗܘ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ
ewl' dgbr' hw shwthp' khTh' ly dlyth w'mr 'mh wmn 'bwhy mn dkhTp
Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.

ܓܒܪܐ ܝܥܢܐ ܡܓܪܓ ܚܪܝܢܐ ܘܕܡܬܬܟܠ ܥܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܢܕܗܢ

One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in Yahweh will prosper.

ܕܬܟܝܠ ܥܠ ܠܒܗ ܣܟܠܐ ܗܘ ܘܕܡܗܠܟ ܒܬܡܝܡܘܬܐ ܢܬܦܨܐ

One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.

ܕܝܗܒ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܚܣܪ ܠܗ ܘܕܡܪܟܢ ܥܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܡܣܟܢܐ ܬܣܓܐ ܠܘܛܬܗ
lwTthh thsg' mskn' mn eynwhy wdmrkn lh nkhsr l' lmskn' dyhb
One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
