ܡܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܕܠܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܡܠܠܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ
dlshn' mmll' mry' wmn dlb' threyth' brnsh' mn
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.

ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܕܟܝ̈ܢ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܐܘܪܚܗ
'wrkhh mthqn wmry' npshh beyny 'nyn dkyn dgbr' 'wrkhthh klhyn
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the motives.

ܓܠܝ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝܟ ܘܢܬܩܢ ܡܚܫܒ̈ܬܟ
mkhshbthk wnthqn ebdyk lmry' gly
Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.

ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܫܬܡܥܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܥܘܠܐ ܢܛܝܪ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܒܝܫܐ
bysh' lywm' nTyr wewl' lh dmshthmeyn l'ylyn dmry' ebdwhy kwlhwn
Yahweh has made everything for its own end— yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.

ܛܡܐ ܗܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܟܠ ܕܪܡ ܒܠܒܗ ܘܕܡܘܫܛ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠ ܚܒܪܗ ܠܐ ܢܬܚܣܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' mn nthkhs' l' khbrh el 'ydh wdmwshT blbh drm kl mry' qdm hw Tm'
Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh; they shall certainly not be unpunished.

ܒܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܒܩܘܫܬܐ ܡܫܬܒܩ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܕܚܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡܣܛܝܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' mn msTy' dmry' wdkhlthh ewl' mshthbq wbqwshth' bTybwth'
By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.

ܒܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܐܦ ܠܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܘܗܝ ܢܦܪܘܥ
nprwe lbeldbbwhy 'p dgbr' 'wrkhthh dmry' btsbynh
When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

ܛܒ ܗܘ ܩܠܝܠ ܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥ̈ܠܠܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ
bdyn' dl' dellth' swg'' mn bzdyqwth' qlyl hw Tb
Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.

ܠܒܗ ܕܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܬܚܫܒ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܗ̈ܠܟܬܗ

A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.

ܩܨܡܐ ܥܠ ܣܦܘ̈ܬܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܘܒܕܝܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܛܥܐ ܦܘܡܗ
pwmh nTe' l' wbdyn' dmlk' spwthh el qtsm'
Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king. He shall not betray his mouth.

ܡܬܩܠܐ ܕܡܣܐܬܐ ܕܝܢܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܬܩ̈ܠܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ
dqwshth' mthql' klhwn webdwhy dmry' dynh dms'th' mthql'
Honest balances and scales are Yahweh’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.

ܛܡܐܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܥܒܕܝܢ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ
kwrsy' mthqn dbzdyqwth' mTwl ewl' debdyn mlk' 'nwn Tm'yn
It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.

ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܡܠܬܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ ܪܚܡ
rkhm dthryts' wmlth' dzdyq' spwthh dmlk' tsbynh
Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.

ܚܡܬܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܡܠܐ̈ܟܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܢܕܥܟܝܗ̇
ndekyh khkym' wgbr' dmwth' 'nwn ml'k' dmlk' khmthh
The king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.

ܒܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܨܒܝܢܗ ܐܝܟ ܥܢܢܐ ܒܟܝܪܝܬܐ
bkyryth' enn' 'yk wtsbynh khy' dmlk' dprtswph bnwhr'
In the light of the king’s face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.

ܕܩܢܐ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܕܩܢܐ ܣܘܟܠܐ ܡܝܬܪ ܗܘ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܣܐܡܐ
s'm' mn lh hw mythr swkl' wdqn' dhb' mn lh hy Tb' khkmth' dqn'
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

ܫܒܝܠܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ ܡܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܕܙܗܝܪ ܒܢܦܫܗ ܢܛܪ ܐܘܪܚܗ
'wrkhh nTr bnpshh wdzhyr byshth' mn msT' dthryts' shbyl'
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.

ܩܕܡ ܬܒܪܐ ܨܥܪܐ ܘܩܕܡ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܪܡܘܬ ܪܘܚܐ
rwkh' rmwth kwrhn' wqdm tser' thbr' qdm
Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.

ܛܒ ܗܘ ܡܟܝܟ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܡܟܝܟ ܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܡܦܠܓ ܒܙܬܐ ܥܡ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܐ
eshyn' em bzth' dmplg hw mn eyn' wmkyk rwkh' mkyk hw Tb
It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.

ܕܡܣܬܟܠ ܡܠܬܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܕܬܟܝܠ ܥܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܛܘܒܘܗܝ
Twbwhy mry' el wdthkyl Tbth' mshkkh mlth' dmsthkl
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.

ܚܟܝܡ ܠܒܐ ܝܕܥ ܣܘܟܠܐ ܘܕܚ̈ܠܝܢ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܡܘܣܦ ܝܘܠܦܢܐ
ywlpn' mwsp spwthh wdkhlyn swkl' yde lb' khkym
The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.

ܡܒܘܥܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܣܘܟܠܐ ܗܘ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܕܣ̈ܟܠܐ ܫܝܛܘܬܐ ܗܝ
hy shyTwth' dskl' wmrdwth' lh dydeyn l'ylyn hw swkl' dkhy' mbwe'
Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, but the punishment of fools is their folly.

ܠܒܐ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܝܕܥ ܡܐܡܪܐ ܕܦܘܡܗ ܘܥܠ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܡܘܣܦ ܝܘܠܦܢܐ
ywlpn' mwsp spwthh wel dpwmh m'mr' yde khkym' lb'
The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.

ܟܟܪܝܬܐ ܕܕܒܫܐ ܡܐܡܪܗ ܕܚܟܝܡܐ ܘܚܠܝܘܬܐ ܗܝ ܠܢܦܫܗ ܘܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܗܝ ܠܓܪ̈ܡܘܗܝ
lgrmwhy hy w'sywth' lnpshh hy wkhlywth' dkhkym' m'mrh ddbsh' kkryth'
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

ܐܝܬ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܬܚܙܝܐ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܬܪܝܨܐ ܗܝ ܘܫܒ̈ܝܠܝܗ̇ ܫܒ̈ܝܠܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܡܘܬܐ
dmwth' 'nwn shbyl' wshbylyh hy dthryts' 'nsh' bny beyny dmthkhzy' 'wrkh' 'yth
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

ܢܦܫܐ ܡܟܐܒܬܐ ܟܐ̈ܒܝܗ̇ ܠܗ̇ ܘܡܢ ܦܘܡܐ ܕܢܦܫܗ̇ ܐܬܐ ܠܗ̇ ܐܒܕܢܐ
'bdn' lh 'th' dnpshh pwm' wmn lh k'byh mk'bth' npsh'
The appetite of the laboring man labors for him, for his mouth urges him on.

ܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܚܫܠ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܝ̇ܩܕܐ ܢܘܪܐ
nwr' yqd' pwmh wmn byshth' khshl ewl' gbr'
A worthless man devises mischief. His speech is like a scorching fire.

ܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܡܓܪܓ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܣܪܝܩܐ ܪܕܦ ܪ̈ܚ̇ܡܘܗܝ
rkhmwhy rdp wsryq' dyn' mgrg ewl' gbr'
A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.

ܓܒܪܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܡܫܕܠ ܚܒܪܗ ܘܡܘܒܠ ܠܗ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܠܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ

A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.

ܘܡܪܡܙ ܒ̈ܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܘܡܬܚܫܒ ܗܦܝ̈ܟܬܐ ܘܡܬܪܥܐ ܒܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܘܓܡܪ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' wgmr bspwthh wmthre' hpykth' wmthkhshb beynwhy wmrmz
One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, one who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.

ܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܣܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܫܬܒܚܐ
mshthbkh' dzdyqwth' wb'wrkh' sybwth' dthshbwkhth' klyl'
Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.

ܛܒ ܗܘ ܢܓܝܪ ܪܘܚܐ ܡܢ ܓܢܒܪܐ ܘܕܡܟܒܫ ܢܦܫܗ ܡܢ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܐܚܝܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ
mdynth' d'khyd hw mn npshh wdmkbsh gnbr' mn rwkh' ngyr hw Tb
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
