ܡܠܬܐ ܪܟܝܟܬܐ ܡܗܦܟܐ ܚܡܬܐ ܘܡܠܬܐ ܩܫܝܬܐ ܡܥܝܪܐ ܪܘܓܙܐ
rwgz' meyr' qshyth' wmlth' khmth' mhpk' rkykth' mlth'
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

ܠܫܢܐ ܕܚ̈ܟܝܡܐ ܡܫܦܪ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܦܘܡܐ ܕܣܟ̈ܠܐ ܓܣܐ ܠܘܛܬܐ
lwTth' gs' dskl' wpwm' ydeth' mshpr dkhkym' lshn'
The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools gush out folly.

ܒܟܠ ܐܬܪ ܥܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܪ̈ܢ ܒ̈ܛܒܐ ܘܒܒܝ̈ܫܐ
wbbysh' bTb' khyrn dmry' eynwhy 'thr bkl
Yahweh’s eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

ܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܗܝ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܕܐܟܠ ܡܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܢܣܒܥ ܡܢܗ
mnh nsbe p'rwhy mn wd'kl dkhy' hy 'yln' dlshn' 'sywth'
A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit.

ܣܟܠܐ ܡܡܝܩ ܒܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܕܥܪܝܡ ܢܛܪ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ
mksnwth' nTr wderym d'bwhy bmrdwth' mmyq skl'
A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.

ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܣܓܐ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܠܬܗܘܢ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܢܐ̈ܒܕܢ
n'bdn dewl' wellthhwn khyl' sg' dzdyq' bbythh
In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but the income of the wicked brings trouble.

ܣ̈ܦܘܬܐ ܕܚ̈ܟܝܡܐ ܡܡ̈ܠܠܢ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܠܒ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܣ̈ܟܠܐ ܠܐ ܟܐ̈ܢܝܢ
k'nyn l' dskl' wlbwth' ydeth' mmlln dkhkym' spwth'
The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so with the heart of fools.

ܕܒ̈ܚܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܣܠܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܨܠܘܬܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ ܨܒܝܢܗ
tsbynh dthryts' wbtslwth' mry' msl' dewl' dbkh'
The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܣܠܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܪܚܡ ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ
zdyqwth' debd l'yn' wrkhm mry' msl' dewl' 'wrkh'
The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but he loves him who follows after righteousness.

ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܓܠܝܐ ܗܝ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܣܢܝܢ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܢܡܘܬܘܢ
nmwthwn mksnwth' dsnyn w'ylyn hy gly' byshth' ydeyn dl' d'ylyn mrdwth'
There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way. Whoever hates reproof shall die.

ܫܝܘܠ ܘܐܒܕܢܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܦ ܠܒܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' dbny lbwth' w'p 'nwn mry' qdm w'bdn' shywl
Sheol and Abaddon are before Yahweh— how much more then the hearts of the children of men!

ܠܐ ܪܚܡ ܒܝܫܐ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܟܣ ܠܗ ܘܥܡ ܚ̈ܟܝܡܐ ܠܐ ܡܗܠܟ
mhlk l' khkym' wem lh dmks lmn bysh' rkhm l'
A scoffer doesn’t love to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.

ܠܒܐ ܚܕܝܐ ܡܫܦܪ ܓܘܫܡܐ ܘܠܒܐ ܟܝܒܐ ܡܟܐܒ ܪܘܚܐ
rwkh' mk'b kyb' wlb' gwshm' mshpr khdy' lb'
A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but an aching heart breaks the spirit.

ܠܒܐ ܕܟܐ̈ܢܐ ܒܥܐ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܦܘܡܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ

The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܗ ܕܡܣܟܢܐ ܒܝܫ̈ܝܢ ܘܒܣܝ̈ܡܐ ܫܠܝܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ
bklzbn shlyn wbsym' byshyn dmskn' ywmthh klhwn
All the days of the afflicted are wretched, but one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast.

ܛܒ ܠܡܕܚܠ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܣܝ̈ܡܬܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ
dewl' rwrbth' symth' mn Tb qlyl lmry' lmdkhl Tb
Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble.

ܛܒܐ ܗܝ ܫܪܘܬܐ ܕܝܪܩܐ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܕܫܡܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܡ̈ܦܛܡܐ ܒܣܢܐܬܐ
bsn'th' mpTm' thwr' mn Tb dshm' wkhwb' dyrq' shrwth' hy Tb'
Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, than a fattened calf with hatred.

ܓܒܪܐ ܚܡܬܢܐ ܡܓܪܓ ܗܪܬܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܢܓܝܪ ܪܘܚܐ ܥܕܠܐ ܗܘܝܐ ܡܕܥܟ ܠܗ̇
lh mdek hwy' edl' rwkh' ngyr wgbr' hrth' mgrg khmthn' gbr'
A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife.

ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗܘܢ ܕܚ̈ܒܢܢܐ ܡ̈ܠܝܢ ܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܘܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗܘܢ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ ܫ̈ܦܝܢ
shpyn dthryts' w'wrkhthhwn kwb' mlyn dkhbnn' 'wrkhthhwn
The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, but the path of the upright is a highway.

ܒܪܐ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܡܚܕܐ ܠܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܒܪܐ ܣܟܠܐ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܡܗ
d'mh hw bhthth' skl' wbr' l'bwhy mkhd' khkym' br'
A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother.

ܓܒܪܐ ܕܣܟܠ ܚܣܝܪ ܠܒܐ ܗܘ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܣܟܘܠܬܢܐ ܬܪܝܨܐܝܬ ܡܗܠܟ
mhlk thryts'yth skwlthn' wgbr' hw lb' khsyr dskl gbr'
Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding keeps his way straight.

ܡܥܒܪܝܢ ܡܚܫ̈ܒܬܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܝܩܪ̈ܝܢ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܝ ܡܠ̣ܟܐ ܬܬܩܝܡ
ththqym mlk' dmlky wbswg'' knwshth' dmyqryn 'ylyn mkhshbth' mebryn
Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.

ܚܕܘܬܐ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܦܘܡܗ ܘܕܡܡܠܠ ܒܙܒܢܗ ܫܦܝܪ ܠܗ

Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!

ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܡܣܩܢܐ ܗܝ ܠܣܟܘܠܬܢܐ ܕܢܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܫܝܘܠ ܬܚܬܝܬܐ
thkhthyth' shywl mn dnsT' lskwlthn' hy msqn' dkhy' 'wrkh'
The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol.

ܒܝܬܐ ܕܫܒܗܪ̈ܢܐ ܥܩܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܚܘܡܐ ܕܐܪ̈ܡܠܬܐ ܡܫܪܪ
mshrr d'rmlth' wthkhwm' mry' eqr dshbhrn' byth'
Yahweh will uproot the house of the proud, but he will keep the widow’s borders intact.

ܡܣ̈ܠܝܢ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܚ̈ܫܒܬܐ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ ܘܕܟܝ̈ܢ ܡ̈ܠܐ ܒܣ̈ܝܡܬܐ
bsymth' ml' wdkyn byshth' mkhshbth' mry' qdm 'nyn mslyn
Yahweh detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the thoughts of the pure are pleasing.

ܡܘܒܕ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܡܩܒܠ ܫܘܚܕܐ ܘܕܣܢܐ ܠܡܣܒ ܫܘܚܕܐ ܚܝܐ
khy' shwkhd' lmsb wdsn' shwkhd' dmqbl 'yn' npshh mwbd
He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes will live.

ܠܒܗ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܪܢܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܦܘܡܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ
byshth' mmll dewl' wpwm' bhymnwth' rn' dzdyq' lbh
The heart of the righteous weighs answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil.

ܪܚܝܩ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܘܒܨܠܘܬܐ ܕܙܕܝ̈ܩܐ ܫܡܥ
shme dzdyq' wbtslwth' ewl' mn mry' hw rkhyq
Yahweh is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

ܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܡܒܣܡ ܠܒܐ ܘܠܒܐ ܛܒܐ ܡܫܡܢ ܓܪ̈ܡܐ
grm' mshmn Tb' wlb' lb' mbsm deyn' nwhr'
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones.

ܐܕܢܐ ܕܫܡܥܐ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܒܝ̈ܢܬ ܚ̈ܟܝܡܐ ܬܒܘܬ
thbwth khkym' bynth dkhy' mksnwth' dshme' 'dn'
The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise.

ܕܡܣܠܐ ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܣܢܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܕܫܡܥ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܩܢܐ ܚܟܡܬܐ
khkmth' qn' mksnwth' wdshme npshh sn' mrdwth' dmsl'
He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
