1
מן דרחים מרדותא רחם ידיעתא וסני מכסנותא בורא הוא:
hwa bwra mksnwtha wsny ydyetha rkhm mrdwtha drkhym mn
Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

טב מן דקבל רעותיה דאלהא וגברא רשיעא רעיעא תרעיתיה:
threythyh reyea rshyea wgbra dalha rewthyh dqbl mn Tb
A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked plans.

לא נתקן בר נשא ברשעא ועקרהון דצדיקי לא נזוע:
nzwe la dtsdyqy weqrhwn brshea nsha br nthqn la
A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

אתתא כשרתא כלילא לבעלה ואנתתא בישתא היך מלטיתא בקיסא היכנא מיבדא גרמוי דגברה:
dgbrh grmwy mybda hykna bqysa mlTytha hyk byshtha wanththa lbelh klyla kshrtha aththa
A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.

מחשבתהון דצדיקי דינא מדברנותא דרשיעי רמיותא:
rmywtha drshyey mdbrnwtha dyna dtsdyqy mkhshbthhwn
The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

מלי דרשיעי כמנין לדמא ופומהון דתריצי מפצי להון:
lhwn mptsy dthrytsy wpwmhwn ldma kmnyn drshyey mly
The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

נתהפכון רשיעי ולא נשתכחון וביתהון דצדיקי יקום:
yqwm dtsdyqy wbythhwn nshthkkhwn wla rshyey nthhpkwn
The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.

גברא משתבח בפומא דסוכלתנותיה וחסיר רעינא יהוי לשטותא:
lshTwtha yhwy reyna wkhsyr dswklthnwthyh bpwma mshthbkh gbra
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he who has a warped mind shall be despised.

טב הוא זלילא ועבדי אית ליה מן הוא דמתיקר וחסיר לחמא:
lkhma wkhsyr dmthyqr hwa mn lyh ayth webdy zlyla hwa Tb
Better is he who is little known, and has a servant, than he who honors himself and lacks bread.

ידיע צדיקא נפשא דבעיריה ורחמיהון דרשיעי נכזריותא:
nkzrywtha drshyey wrkhmyhwn dbeyryh npsha tsdyqa ydye
A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

דפלח בארעיה יסבע לחמא ודרדף בתר סריקותא חסר רעינא הוא:
hwa reyna khsr sryqwtha bthr wdrdp lkhma ysbe bareyh dplkh
He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.

ראג רשיעא מצודתא בישתא ועקרהון דצדיקי נתקים:
nthqym dtsdyqy weqrhwn byshtha mtswdtha rshyea rag
The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.

בחובא דשפותא מתקל בישא ופליט צדיקא מן עקתא:
eqtha mn tsdyqa wplyT bysha mthql dshpwtha bkhwba
An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.

גברא מן פרי פומיה ישבע טבתא וכל בר נש היך עובד אידו מתפריע:
mthprye aydw ewbd hyk nsh br wkl Tbtha yshbe pwmyh pry mn gbra
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him.

ארחיה דסכלא תריצא באפוי ודשמע לעיצתא חכימא הוא:
hwa khkyma leytstha wdshme bapwy thrytsa dskla arkhyh
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.

שטיא כד יומיה מודע רוגזיה וערים מכסי צעריה:
tseryh mksy werym rwgzyh mwde ywmyh kd shTya
A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.

מן דמסהיד הימנותא נתני צדיקותא וסהד דשקרא רמאה הוא:
hwa rmah dshqra wshd tsdyqwtha nthny hymnwtha dmshyd mn
He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.

אית דאמריה ספסירא רגשא ולישנא דחכימי מאסיא:
masya dkhkymy wlyshna rgsha spsyra damryh ayth
There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.

שפתא דקשטא תתקן לעלם וסהדא מסתרהב כלישנא דשקרא:
dshqra klyshna msthrhb wshda lelm ththqn dqshTa shptha
Truth’s lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.
20
רמיותא בלבהון דחשלין בשתא ולאלין דיעצין שלמא חדותא תהוי:
thhwy khdwtha shlma dyetsyn wlalyn bshtha dkhshlyn blbhwn rmywtha
Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.

לא שפיר לצדיקא כל מדעם דעאתא ורשיעי מלין בישתא:
byshtha mlyn wrshyey deatha mdem kl ltsdyqa shpyr la
No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

מרחקתיה דאלהא ספותי דשקרא ובאלין דעבדין הימנותא מתרעי:
mthrey hymnwtha debdyn wbalyn dshqra spwthy dalha mrkhqthyh
Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.

בר נש ערימא מכסה ידיעתא ולבהון דסכלי סני ידיעתא:
ydyetha sny dskly wlbhwn ydyetha mksh eryma nsh br
A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
24
אידא דתקיפי תשלט ורמאי יהון למיסא:
lmysa yhwn wrmay thshlT dthqypy ayda
The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
25
מלתא דחילתא בלביה דגברא מדחלא ומליא טביא מחדין ליה:
lyh mkhdyn Tbya wmlya mdkhla dgbra blbyh dkhyltha mltha
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.

טב מן חבריה צדיקא וארחהון דרשיעי מתעי להון:
lhwn mthey drshyey warkhhwn tsdyqa khbryh mn Tb
A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

לא נסתקבל צידא לגברא נכילא ומזליה דבר אנש דהבא יקירא:
yqyra dhba ansh dbr wmzlyh nkyla lgbra tsyda nsthqbl la
The slothful man doesn’t roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized.
