נבואת עובדיה כדנן אמר יי אלהים לאדום בסורא שמענא מן קדם יי ואזגד בעממיא שליח קומו ונתעתד עלה לקרבא:
lqrba elh wnthethd qwmw shlykh bemmya wazgd yy qdm mn shmena bswra ladwm alhym yy amr kdnn ewbdyh nbwath
The vision of Obadiah. This is what the Lord Yahweh says about Edom. We have heard news from Yahweh, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, “Arise, and let’s rise up against her in battle.

הא חלש יהבתך בעממיא בסיר את לחדא:
lkhda ath bsyr bemmya yhbthk khlsh ha
Behold, I have made you small among the nations. You are greatly despised.

רשע לבך אטעיך דאת דמי לנשרא דשרי בשיני כיפא ברומא מותביה אמר בלביה מן יחתינני לארעא:
larea ykhthynny mn blbyh amr mwthbyh brwma kypa bshyny dshry lnshra dmy dath aTeyk lbk rshe
The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says in his heart, ‘Who will bring me down to the ground?’

אם תרים כנשרא ואם ביני כוכביא תשוי מדורך מתמן אחתינך אמר יי:
yy amr akhthynk mthmn mdwrk thshwy kwkbya byny wam knshra thrym am
Though you mount on high as the eagle, and though your nest is set among the stars, I will bring you down from there,” says Yahweh.

אם גנבים אתו עלך אם בזוזי ליליא איכדין הויתא דמיך עד דגנבו מסתהון ואם חטופין כקטופין אתו עלך הלא משארין עוללן:
ewlln msharyn hla elk athw kqTwpyn khTwpyn wam msthhwn dgnbw ed dmyk hwytha aykdyn lylya bzwzy am elk athw gnbym am
“If thieves came to you, if robbers by night—oh, what disaster awaits you—wouldn’t they only steal until they had enough? If grape pickers came to you, wouldn’t they leave some gleaning grapes?

איכדין אתבלש עשו אתגלין מטמורוהי:
mTmwrwhy athglyn eshw athblsh aykdyn
How Esau will be ransacked! How his hidden treasures are sought out!

מן תחומך אגליוך כל אנשא קימך אטעיוך יכילו לך אנשי שלמך אכלי פתורך שויאו תקלא תחותך מדלית בך סוכלתנו:
swklthnw bk mdlyth thkhwthk thqla shwyaw pthwrk akly shlmk anshy lk ykylw aTeywk qymk ansha kl aglywk thkhwmk mn
All the men of your alliance have brought you on your way, even to the border. The men who were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you. Friends who eat your bread lay a snare under you. There is no understanding in him.”

הלא בעדנא ההיא אמר יי ואובד חכימין מאדום וכל גבר דביה סוכלתנותא מכרכא דעשו:
deshw mkrka swklthnwtha dbyh gbr wkl madwm khkymyn wawbd yy amr hhya bedna hla
“Won’t I in that day”, says Yahweh, “destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mountain of Esau?

ויתברון גברך יתבי דרומא בדיל דישתיצי גבר דביה צורבא מכרכא דעשו מקטול:
mqTwl deshw mkrka tswrba dbyh gbr dyshthytsy bdyl drwma ythby gbrk wythbrwn
Your mighty men, Teman, will be dismayed, to the end that everyone may be cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter.

מחטוף אחוך יעקב תחפינך בהתא ותשתיצי לעלם:
lelm wthshthytsy bhtha thkhpynk yeqb akhwk mkhTwp
For the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame will cover you, and you will be cut off forever.

ביום מקימך מקביל ביומא דבזו עממיא נכסוהי ונכראין עלו בקרוהי ועל ירושלם רמו עדבין אף את כחד מנהון:
mnhwn kkhd ath ap edbyn rmw yrwshlm wel bqrwhy elw wnkrayn nkswhy emmya dbzw bywma mqbyl mqymk bywm
In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, even you were like one of them.

ודחזיתא ביומא דאחוך ביום תביריה ודחדיתא לבני יהודה ביום תבירהון ודאסגיתא למללא רברבן בעדן עקא:
eqa bedn rbrbn lmlla wdasgytha thbyrhwn bywm yhwdh lbny wdkhdytha thbyryh bywm dakhwk bywma wdkhzytha
But don’t look down on your brother in the day of his disaster, and don’t rejoice over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction. Don’t speak proudly in the day of distress.

ודעלתא בתרעי עמי ביום תבירהון ודחזיתא אף את בבישתיה ביום תביריה ודאושיטתא ידך בנכסוהי ביום תביריה:
thbyryh bywm bnkswhy ydk wdawshyTtha thbyryh bywm bbyshthyh ath ap wdkhzytha thbyrhwn bywm emy bthrey wdeltha
Don’t enter into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity. Don’t look down on their affliction in the day of their calamity, neither seize their wealth on the day of their calamity.

ודקמתא על פרקא לשיצאה ית מערקוהי ודמסרתא משיזבוהי בעדן עקא:
eqa bedn mshyzbwhy wdmsrtha merqwhy yth lshytsah prqa el wdqmtha
Don’t stand in the crossroads to cut off those of his who escape. Don’t deliver up those of his who remain in the day of distress.

ארי קריב יומא דעתיד למיתי מן קדם יי על כל עממיא כמא דעבדת יתעביד לך גמלך יתתב ברישך:
bryshk yththb gmlk lk ythebyd debdth kma emmya kl el yy qdm mn lmythy dethyd ywma qryb ary
For the day of Yahweh is near all the nations! As you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return upon your own head.

ארי כמא דחדיתון על מחת טורא דקודשי ישתון כל עממיא כס פורענותהון תדירא וישתון ויסתלעמון ויהון כדלא הוו:
hww kdla wyhwn wysthlemwn wyshthwn thdyra pwrenwthhwn ks emmya kl yshthwn dqwdshy Twra mkhth el dkhdythwn kma ary
For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so all the nations will drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been.

ובטורא דציון תהי משיזבתא ויהון קדישין ויחסנון דבית יעקב נכסי עממיא דהוו מחסנין להון:
lhwn mkhsnyn dhww emmya nksy yeqb dbyth wykhsnwn qdyshyn wyhwn mshyzbtha thhy dtsywn wbTwra
But in Mount Zion, there will be those who escape, and it will be holy. The house of Jacob will possess their possessions.

ויהון דבית יעקב תקיפין כאשתא ודבית יוסף חסינין כשלהוביתא ודבית עשו חלשין כקשא וישלטון בהון ויקטלונונון ולא יהי שיזבא לבית עשו ארי יי גזיר כן:
kn gzyr yy ary eshw lbyth shyzba yhy wla wyqTlwnwnwn bhwn wyshlTwn kqsha khlshyn eshw wdbyth kshlhwbytha khsynyn ywsp wdbyth kashtha thqypyn yeqb dbyth wyhwn
The house of Jacob will be a fire, the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble. They will burn among them and devour them. There will not be any remaining to the house of Esau.” Indeed, Yahweh has spoken.

ויחסנון יתבי דרומא ית כרכא דעשו ויתבי שפלתא ית ארעא דפלשתאי ויחסנון ית קרוי אפרים וית קרוי שמרון ודבית בנימין ית יתבי ארעא דגלעד:
dgled area ythby yth bnymyn wdbyth shmrwn qrwy wyth aprym qrwy yth wykhsnwn dplshthay area yth shpltha wythby deshw krka yth drwma ythby wykhsnwn
Those of the South will possess the mountain of Esau, and those of the lowland, the Philistines. They will possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria. Benjamin will possess Gilead.

וגלות עמא הדין דבני ישראל דבארעא כנענאי עד צרפת וגלות ירושלם דבאספמיא יחסנון ית קרוי ארעא דדרומא:
ddrwma area qrwy yth ykhsnwn dbaspmya yrwshlm wglwth tsrpth ed knenay dbarea yshral dbny hdyn ema wglwth
The captives of this army of the children of Israel, who are among the Canaanites, will possess even to Zarephath; and the captives of Jerusalem, who are in Sepharad, will possess the cities of the Negev.
