Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

קבילו ית חשבן בני קהת מגו בני לוי לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון:
qbylw yth khshbn bny qhth mgw bny lwy lzreythhwn lbyth abhthhwn
“Take a census of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,

מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין כל דאתי לחילא למעבד עבדתא במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn kl dathy lkhyla lmebd ebdtha bmshkn zmna
from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter into the service to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.

דין פולחן בני קהת במשכן זמנא קדש קודשיא:
dyn pwlkhn bny qhth bmshkn zmna qdsh qwdshya
“This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting, regarding the most holy things.

ויעול אהרן ובנוהי במטל משריתא ויפרקון ית פרכתא דפרסא ויכסון בה ית ארונא דסהדותא:
wyewl ahrn wbnwhy bmTl mshrytha wyprqwn yth prktha dprsa wykswn bh yth arwna dshdwtha
When the camp moves forward, Aaron shall go in with his sons; and they shall take down the veil of the screen, cover the ark of the Testimony with it,

ויתנון עלוהי חופאה דמשך ססגונא ויפרסון לבוש גמיר תכלא מלעלא וישוון אריחוהי:
wythnwn elwhy khwpah dmshk ssgwna wyprswn lbwsh gmyr thkla mlela wyshwwn arykhwhy
put a covering of sealskin on it, spread a blue cloth over it, and put in its poles.

ועל פתורא דלחם אפיא יפרסון לבוש תכלא ויתנון עלוהי ית מגיסיא וית בזיכיא וית מכילתא וית קסוות נסוכא ולחם תדירא עלוהי יהי:
wel pthwra dlkhm apya yprswn lbwsh thkla wythnwn elwhy yth mgysya wyth bzykya wyth mkyltha wyth qswwth nswka wlkhm thdyra elwhy yhy
“On the table of show bread they shall spread a blue cloth, and put on it the dishes, the spoons, the bowls, and the cups with which to pour out; and the continual bread shall be on it.

ויפרסון עליהון לבוש צבע זהורי ויכסון יתיה בחופאה דמשך ססגונא וישוון ית אריחוהי:
wyprswn elyhwn lbwsh tsbe zhwry wykswn ythyh bkhwpah dmshk ssgwna wyshwwn yth arykhwhy
They shall spread on them a scarlet cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.

ויסבון לבוש תכלא ויכסון ית מנרתא דאנהורי וית בוצינהא וית צבתהא וית מחתיתהא וית כל מני משחא די ישמשון ליה בהון:
wysbwn lbwsh thkla wykswn yth mnrtha danhwry wyth bwtsynha wyth tsbthha wyth mkhthythha wyth kl mny mshkha dy yshmshwn lyh bhwn
“They shall take a blue cloth and cover the lamp stand of the light, its lamps, its snuffers, its snuff dishes, and all its oil vessels, with which they minister to it.

ויתנון יתה וית כל מנהא לחופאה דמשך ססגונא ויתנון על אריחא:
wythnwn ythh wyth kl mnha lkhwpah dmshk ssgwna wythnwn el arykha
They shall put it and all its vessels within a covering of sealskin, and shall put it on the frame.

ועל מדבחא דדהבא יפרסון לבוש תכלא ויכסון יתיה בחופאה דמשך ססגונא וישוון ית אריחוהי:
wel mdbkha ddhba yprswn lbwsh thkla wykswn ythyh bkhwpah dmshk ssgwna wyshwwn yth arykhwhy
“On the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.

ויסבון ית כל מני שמושא די ישמשון בהון בקודשא ויתנון ללבוש תכלא ויכסון יתהון בחופאה דמשך ססגונא ויתנון על אריחא:
wysbwn yth kl mny shmwsha dy yshmshwn bhwn bqwdsha wythnwn llbwsh thkla wykswn ythhwn bkhwpah dmshk ssgwna wythnwn el arykha
“They shall take all the vessels of ministry with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of sealskin, and shall put them on the frame.

ויספון ית קטמא דמדבחא ויפרסון עלוהי לבוש ארגון:
wyspwn yth qTma dmdbkha wyprswn elwhy lbwsh argwn
“They shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it.

ויתנון עלוהי ית כל מנוהי די ישמשון עלוהי בהון ית מחתיתא וית צנוריתא וית מגרופיתא וית מזרקיא כל מני מדבחא ויפרסון עלוהי חופאה דמשך ססגונא וישוון אריחוהי:
wythnwn elwhy yth kl mnwhy dy yshmshwn elwhy bhwn yth mkhthytha wyth tsnwrytha wyth mgrwpytha wyth mzrqya kl mny mdbkha wyprswn elwhy khwpah dmshk ssgwna wyshwwn arykhwhy
They shall put on it all its vessels with which they minister about it, the fire pans, the meat hooks, the shovels, and the basins—all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread on it a covering of sealskin, and put in its poles.

וישיצי אהרן ובנוהי לכסאה ית קודשא וית כל מני קודשא במטל משריתא ובתר כן יעלון בני קהת למטל ולא יקרבון לקודשא ולא ימותון אלין מטול בני קהת במשכן זמנא:
wyshytsy ahrn wbnwhy lksah yth qwdsha wyth kl mny qwdsha bmTl mshrytha wbthr kn yelwn bny qhth lmTl wla yqrbwn lqwdsha wla ymwthwn alyn mTwl bny qhth bmshkn zmna
“When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp moves forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. The sons of Kohath shall carry these things belonging to the Tent of Meeting.

ודי מסיר לאלעזר בר אהרן כהנא משחא דאנהרותא וקטרת בוסמיא ומנחתא תדירא ומשחא דרבותא מטרת כל משכנא וכל די ביה בקודשא ובמנוהי:
wdy msyr lalezr br ahrn khna mshkha danhrwtha wqTrth bwsmya wmnkhtha thdyra wmshkha drbwtha mTrth kl mshkna wkl dy byh bqwdsha wbmnwhy
“The duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the continual meal offering, and the anointing oil, the requirements of all the tabernacle, and of all that is in it, the sanctuary, and its furnishings.”

ומליל יי עם משה ועם אהרן למימר:

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

לא תשיצון ית שבטא זרעית קהת מגו לואי:
la thshytswn yth shbTa zreyth qhth mgw lway
“Don’t cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites;
19
ודא עבידו להון ויחון ולא ימותון במקרבהון לקדש קודשיא אהרן ובנוהי יעלון וימנון יתהון גבר גבר על פולחניה ולמטוליה:
wda ebydw lhwn wykhwn wla ymwthwn bmqrbhwn lqdsh qwdshya ahrn wbnwhy yelwn wymnwn ythhwn gbr gbr el pwlkhnyh wlmTwlyh
but do this to them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint everyone to his service and to his burden;
20
ולא יעלון למחזי כד מכסן ית מני קודשא ולא ימותון:
wla yelwn lmkhzy kd mksn yth mny qwdsha wla ymwthwn
but they shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.”
22
קבל ית חשבן בני גרשון אף אנון לבית אבהתהון לזרעיתהון:
qbl yth khshbn bny grshwn ap anwn lbyth abhthhwn lzreythhwn
“Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’ houses, by their families;
23
מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא עד בר חמשין שנין תמני יתהון כל דאתי לחילא חילא למפלח פלחנא במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela ed br khmshyn shnyn thmny ythhwn kl dathy lkhyla khyla lmplkh plkhna bmshkn zmna
you shall count them from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old: all who enter in to wait on the service, to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.

דין פלחן זרעית גרשון למפלח ולמטול:
dyn plkhn zreyth grshwn lmplkh wlmTwl
“This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:
25
ויטלון ית יריעת משכנא וית משכן זמנא חופאיה וחופאה דססגונא די עלוהי מלעלא וית פרסא דתרע משכן זמנא:
wyTlwn yth yryeth mshkna wyth mshkn zmna khwpayh wkhwpah dssgwna dy elwhy mlela wyth prsa dthre mshkn zmna
they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, the covering of sealskin that is on it, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

וית סרדי דרתא וית פרסא דמעלנא דתרע דרתא די על משכנא ועל מדבחא סחור סחור וית אטוניהון וית כל מני פלחנהון וית כל די יתמסר להון ויפלחון:
wyth srdy drtha wyth prsa dmelna dthre drtha dy el mshkna wel mdbkha skhwr skhwr wyth aTwnyhwn wyth kl mny plkhnhwn wyth kl dy ythmsr lhwn wyplkhwn
the hangings of the court, the screen for the door of the gate of the court which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatever shall be done with them. They shall serve in there.

על מימר אהרן ובנוהי יהי כל פלחן בני גרשון לכל מטולהון ולכל פלחנהון ותמנון עליהון במטרא ית כל מטולהון:
el mymr ahrn wbnwhy yhy kl plkhn bny grshwn lkl mTwlhwn wlkl plkhnhwn wthmnwn elyhwn bmTra yth kl mTwlhwn
At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service; and you shall appoint their duty to them in all their responsibilities.

דין פלחן זרעית בני גרשון במשכן זמנא ומטרתהון בידא דאיתמר בר אהרן כהנא:
dyn plkhn zreyth bny grshwn bmshkn zmna wmTrthhwn byda daythmr br ahrn khna
This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the Tent of Meeting. Their duty shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

בני מררי לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון תמני יתהון:
bny mrry lzreythhwn lbyth abhthhwn thmny ythhwn
“As for the sons of Merari, you shall count them by their families, by their fathers’ houses;
30
מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין תמננון כל דאתי לחילא למפלח ית פלחן משכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn thmnnwn kl dathy lkhyla lmplkh yth plkhn mshkn zmna
you shall count them from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who enters on the service, to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.

ודא מטרת מטולהון לכל פלחנהון במשכן זמנא דפי משכנא ועברוהי ועמודוהי וסמכוהי:
wda mTrth mTwlhwn lkl plkhnhwn bmshkn zmna dpy mshkna webrwhy wemwdwhy wsmkwhy
This is the duty of their burden, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets,

ועמודי דדרתא סחור סחור וסמכיהון וסכיהון ואטוניהון לכל מניהון ולכל פלחנהון ובשמהן תמנון ית מני מטרת מטולהון:
wemwdy ddrtha skhwr skhwr wsmkyhwn wskyhwn waTwnyhwn lkl mnyhwn wlkl plkhnhwn wbshmhn thmnwn yth mny mTrth mTwlhwn
the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service. You shall appoint the instruments of the duty of their burden to them by name.

דין פלחן זרעית בני מררי לכל פלחנהון במשכן זמנא בידא דאיתמר בר אהרן כהנא:
dyn plkhn zreyth bny mrry lkl plkhnhwn bmshkn zmna byda daythmr br ahrn khna
This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”

ומנא משה ואהרן ורברבי כנשתא ית בני קהת לזרעיתהון ולבית אבהתהון:
wmna mshh wahrn wrbrby knshtha yth bny qhth lzreythhwn wlbyth abhthhwn
Moses and Aaron and the princes of the congregation counted the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,

מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין כל דאתי לחילא לפלחנא במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn kl dathy lkhyla lplkhna bmshkn zmna
from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting.

והוו מניניהון לזרעיתהון תרין אלפין שבע מאה וחמשין:
whww mnynyhwn lzreythhwn thryn alpyn shbe mah wkhmshyn
Those who were counted of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred fifty.
37
אלין מניני זרעית קהת כל דפלח במשכן זמנא די מנא משה ואהרן על מימרא דיי בידא דמשה:
alyn mnyny zreyth qhth kl dplkh bmshkn zmna dy mna mshh wahrn el mymra dyy byda dmshh
These are those who were counted of the families of the Kohathites, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

ומניני בני גרשון לזרעיתהון ולבית אבהתהון:
wmnyny bny grshwn lzreythhwn wlbyth abhthhwn
Those who were counted of the sons of Gershon, by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,
39
מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין כל דאתי לחילא לפלחנא במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn kl dathy lkhyla lplkhna bmshkn zmna
from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,

והוו מניניהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון תרין אלפין ושית מאה ותלתין:
whww mnynyhwn lzreythhwn lbyth abhthhwn thryn alpyn wshyth mah wthlthyn
even those who were counted of them, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, were two thousand six hundred thirty.

אלין מניני זרעית בני גרשון כל דפלח במשכן זמנא די מנא משה ואהרן על מימרא דיי:
alyn mnyny zreyth bny grshwn kl dplkh bmshkn zmna dy mna mshh wahrn el mymra dyy
These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Gershon, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of Yahweh.

ומניני זרעית בני מררי לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון:

Those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,
43
מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין כל דאתי לחילא לפלחנא במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn kl dathy lkhyla lplkhna bmshkn zmna
from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,

והוו מניניהון לזרעיתהון תלתא אלפין ומאתן:
whww mnynyhwn lzreythhwn thltha alpyn wmathn
even those who were counted of them by their families, were three thousand two hundred.
45
אלין מניני זרעית בני מררי די מנא משה ואהרן על מימרא דיי בידא דמשה:
alyn mnyny zreyth bny mrry dy mna mshh wahrn el mymra dyy byda dmshh
These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

כל מניניא די מנא משה ואהרן ורברבי ישראל ית לואי לזרעיתהון ולבית אבהתהון:
kl mnynya dy mna mshh wahrn wrbrby yshral yth lway lzreythhwn wlbyth abhthhwn
All those who were counted of the Levites whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel counted, by their families and by their fathers’ houses,

מבר תלתין שנין ולעלא ועד בר חמשין שנין כל דאתי למפלח פלחן פלחנא ופלחן מטול במשכן זמנא:
mbr thlthyn shnyn wlela wed br khmshyn shnyn kl dathy lmplkh plkhn plkhna wplkhn mTwl bmshkn zmna
from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered in to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting,

והוו מניניהון תמניא אלפין וחמש מאה ותמנן:
whww mnynyhwn thmnya alpyn wkhmsh mah wthmnn
even those who were counted of them, were eight thousand five hundred eighty.

על מימרא דיי מנא יתהון בידא דמשה גבר גבר על פלחניה ועל מטוליה ומנינוהי די פקיד יי ית משה:
el mymra dyy mna ythhwn byda dmshh gbr gbr el plkhnyh wel mTwlyh wmnynwhy dy pqyd yy yth mshh
According to the commandment of Yahweh they were counted by Moses, everyone according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were counted by him, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
