Now this is the history of the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Yahweh spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai.

ואלין שמהת בני אהרן בוכרא נדב ואביהוא אלעזר ואיתמר:
walyn shmhth bny ahrn bwkra ndb wabyhwa alezr waythmr
These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

אלין שמהת בני אהרן כהניא דאתרביאו די אתקרב קרבנהון לשמשא:
alyn shmhth bny ahrn khnya dathrbyaw dy athqrb qrbnhwn lshmsha
These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.

ומית נדב ואביהוא קדם יי בקרוביהון אשתא נוכריתא קדם יי במדברא דסיני ובנין לא הוו להון ושמש אלעזר ואיתמר על אפי אהרן אבוהון:
wmyth ndb wabyhwa qdm yy bqrwbyhwn ashtha nwkrytha qdm yy bmdbra dsyny wbnyn la hww lhwn wshmsh alezr waythmr el apy ahrn abwhwn
Nadab and Abihu died before Yahweh when they offered strange fire before Yahweh in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children. Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence of Aaron their father.

קרב ית שבטא דלוי ותקים יתיה קדם אהרן כהנא וישמשון יתיה:

“Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.

ויטרון ית מטרתיה וית מטרת כל כנשתא קדם משכן זמנא למפלח ית פלחן משכנא:
wyTrwn yth mTrthyh wyth mTrth kl knshtha qdm mshkn zmna lmplkh yth plkhn mshkna
They shall keep his requirements, and the requirements of the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ויטרון ית כל מאני משכן זמנא וית מטרת בני ישראל למפלח ית פלחן משכנא:
wyTrwn yth kl many mshkn zmna wyth mTrth bny yshral lmplkh yth plkhn mshkna
They shall keep all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting, and the obligations of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ותתן ית לואי לאהרן ולבנוהי מסירין יהיבין אנון ליה מן בני ישראל:
wththn yth lway lahrn wlbnwhy msyryn yhybyn anwn lyh mn bny yshral
You shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons. They are wholly given to him on the behalf of the children of Israel.

וית אהרן וית בנוהי תמני ויטרון ית כהנתהון וחלוני דיקרב יתקטל:
wyth ahrn wyth bnwhy thmny wyTrwn yth khnthhwn wkhlwny dyqrb ythqTl
You shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood, but the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

ואנא הא קרבית ית לואי מגו בני ישראל חלף כל בוכרא פתח ולדא מבני ישראל ויהון משמשין קדמי לואי:
wana ha qrbyth yth lway mgw bny yshral khlp kl bwkra pthkh wlda mbny yshral wyhwn mshmshyn qdmy lway
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn who open the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine,

ארי דילי כל בוכרא ביומא דקטלית כל בוכרא בארעא דמצרים אקדשית קדמי כל בוכרא בישראל מאנשא עד בעירא דילי יהון אנא יי:
ary dyly kl bwkra bywma dqTlyth kl bwkra barea dmtsrym aqdshyth qdmy kl bwkra byshral mansha ed beyra dyly yhwn ana yy
for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I made holy to me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and animal. They shall be mine. I am Yahweh.”

ומליל יי עם משה במדברא דסיני למימר:
wmlyl yy em mshh bmdbra dsyny lmymr
Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

מני ית בני לוי לבית אבהתהון לזרעיתהון כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא תמננון:
mny yth bny lwy lbyth abhthhwn lzreythhwn kl dkwra mbr yrkha wlela thmnnwn
“Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families. You shall count every male from a month old and upward.”

ומנא יתהון משה על מימרא דיי כמא דאתפקד:
wmna ythhwn mshh el mymra dyy kma dathpqd
Moses counted them according to Yahweh’s word, as he was commanded.
17
והוו אלין בני לוי בשמהתהון גרשון וקהת ומררי:
whww alyn bny lwy bshmhthhwn grshwn wqhth wmrry
These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
18
ואלין שמהת בני גרשון לזרעיתהון לבני ושמעי:
walyn shmhth bny grshwn lzreythhwn lbny wshmey
These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.
19
ובני קהת לזרעיתהון עמרם ויצהר חברון ועזיאל:
wbny qhth lzreythhwn emrm wytshr khbrwn wezyal
The sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
20
ובני מררי לזרעיתהון מחלי ומושי אלין אנון זרעית לואי לבית אבהתהון:
wbny mrry lzreythhwn mkhly wmwshy alyn anwn zreyth lway lbyth abhthhwn
The sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.

לגרשון זרעית לבני וזרעית שמעי אלין אנון זרעית גרשון:
lgrshwn zreyth lbny wzreyth shmey alyn anwn zreyth grshwn
Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites. These are the families of the Gershonites.

מניניהון במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא מניניהון שבעא אלפין וחמש מאה:
mnynyhwn bmnyn kl dkwra mbr yrkha wlela mnynyhwn shbea alpyn wkhmsh mah
Those who were counted of them, according to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, even those who were counted of them were seven thousand five hundred.

זרעית גרשון אחורי משכנא ישרון מערבא:
zreyth grshwn akhwry mshkna yshrwn merba
The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward.
24
ורב בית אבא לבית גרשון אליסף בר לאל:
wrb byth aba lbyth grshwn alysp br lal
Eliasaph the son of Lael shall be the prince of the fathers’ house of the Gershonites.
25
ומטרת בני גרשון במשכן זמנא משכנא ופרסא חופאיה ופרסא דתרע משכן זמנא:
wmTrth bny grshwn bmshkn zmna mshkna wprsa khwpayh wprsa dthre mshkn zmna
The duty of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting shall be the tabernacle, the tent, its covering, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

וסרדי דדרתא וית פרסא דתרע דרתא די על משכנא ועל מדבחא סחור סחור וית אטונוהי לכל פולחניה:
wsrdy ddrtha wyth prsa dthre drtha dy el mshkna wel mdbkha skhwr skhwr wyth aTwnwhy lkl pwlkhnyh
the hangings of the court, the screen for the door of the court which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, and its cords for all of its service.

ולקהת זרעית עמרם וזרעית יצהר וזרעית חברון וזרעית עזיאל אלין אנון זרעית קהת:
wlqhth zreyth emrm wzreyth ytshr wzreyth khbrwn wzreyth ezyal alyn anwn zreyth qhth
Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, the family of the Izharites, the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites.

במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא תמניא אלפין ושית מאה נטרי מטרתא דקודשא:
bmnyn kl dkwra mbr yrkha wlela thmnya alpyn wshyth mah nTry mTrtha dqwdsha
According to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred keeping the requirements of the sanctuary.

זרעית בני קהת ישרון על צדא דמשכנא דרומא:
zreyth bny qhth yshrwn el tsda dmshkna drwma
The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the south side of the tabernacle.
30
ורב בית אבא לזרעית קהת אליצפן בר עזיאל:
wrb byth aba lzreyth qhth alytspn br ezyal
The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
31
ומטרתהון ארונא ופתורא ומנרתא ומדבחא ומני קודשא די ישמשון בהון ופרסא וכל פלחניה:
wmTrthhwn arwna wpthwra wmnrtha wmdbkha wmny qwdsha dy yshmshwn bhwn wprsa wkl plkhnyh
Their duty shall be the ark, the table, the lamp stand, the altars, the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, the screen, and all its service.
32
ואמרכלא דממנא על רברבי לואי אלעזר בר אהרן כהנא דמתחות ידוהי ממנן נטרי מטרת קודשא:
wamrkla dmmna el rbrby lway alezr br ahrn khna dmthkhwth ydwhy mmnn nTry mTrth qwdsha
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the requirements of the sanctuary.

למררי זרעית מחלי וזרעית מושי אלין אנון זרעית מררי:
lmrry zreyth mkhly wzreyth mwshy alyn anwn zreyth mrry
Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari.

ומניניהון במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא שתא אלפין ומאתן:
wmnynyhwn bmnyn kl dkwra mbr yrkha wlela shtha alpyn wmathn
Those who were counted of them, according to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred.

ורב בית אבא לזרעית מררי צוריאל בר אביחיל על צדא דמשכנא ישרון צפונא:
wrb byth aba lzreyth mrry tswryal br abykhyl el tsda dmshkna yshrwn tspwna
The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall encamp on the north side of the tabernacle.

ודי מסיר למטרת בני מררי דפי משכנא ועברוהי ועמודוהי וסמכוהי וכל מנוהי וכל פולחניה:
wdy msyr lmTrth bny mrry dpy mshkna webrwhy wemwdwhy wsmkwhy wkl mnwhy wkl pwlkhnyh
The appointed duty of the sons of Merari shall be the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its instruments, all its service,

ועמודי דדרתא סחור סחור וסמכיהון וסכיהון ואטוניהון:
wemwdy ddrtha skhwr skhwr wsmkyhwn wskyhwn waTwnyhwn
the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, and their cords.
38
ודי שרן קדם משכנא קדומא קדם משכן זמנא מדינחא משה ואהרן ובנוהי נטרין מטרת מקדשא למטרת בני ישראל וחלוני דיקרב יתקטל:
wdy shrn qdm mshkna qdwma qdm mshkn zmna mdynkha mshh wahrn wbnwhy nTryn mTrth mqdsha lmTrth bny yshral wkhlwny dyqrb ythqTl
Those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses, with Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
39
כל מניני לואי די מנא משה ואהרן על מימרא דיי לזרעיתהון כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא עשרין ותרין אלפין:
kl mnyny lway dy mna mshh wahrn el mymra dyy lzreythhwn kl dkwra mbr yrkha wlela eshryn wthryn alpyn
All who were counted of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron counted at the commandment of Yahweh, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.
40
ואמר יי למשה מני כל בוכריא דכריא לבני ישראל מבר ירחא ולעלא וקבל ית מנין שמהתהון:
wamr yy lmshh mny kl bwkrya dkrya lbny yshral mbr yrkha wlela wqbl yth mnyn shmhthhwn
Yahweh said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
41
ותקרב ית לואי קדמי אנא יי חלף כל בוכרא בבני ישראל וית בעירא דלואי חלף כל בוכרא בבעירא דבני ישראל:
wthqrb yth lway qdmy ana yy khlp kl bwkra bbny yshral wyth beyra dlway khlp kl bwkra bbeyra dbny yshral
You shall take the Levites for me—I am Yahweh—instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the livestock of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the livestock of the children of Israel.”
42
ומנא משה כמא די פקיד יי יתיה ית כל בוכרא בבני ישראל:
wmna mshh kma dy pqyd yy ythyh yth kl bwkra bbny yshral
Moses counted, as Yahweh commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
43
והוו כל בוכריא דכריא במנין שמהן מבר ירחא ולעלא למניניהון עשרין ותרין אלפין מאתן ושבעין ותלתא:
whww kl bwkrya dkrya bmnyn shmhn mbr yrkha wlela lmnynyhwn eshryn wthryn alpyn mathn wshbeyn wthltha
All the firstborn males according to the number of names from a month old and upward, of those who were counted of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.
45
קרב ית לואי חלף כל בוכרא בבני ישראל וית בעירא דלואי חלף בעירהון ויהון משמשין קדמי לואי אנא יי:
qrb yth lway khlp kl bwkra bbny yshral wyth beyra dlway khlp beyrhwn wyhwn mshmshyn qdmy lway ana yy
“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am Yahweh.
46
וית פרקן מאתן ושבעין ותלתא דיתירין על לואי מבוכריא דבני ישראל:
wyth prqn mathn wshbeyn wthltha dythyryn el lway mbwkrya dbny yshral
For the redemption of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel who exceed the number of the Levites,
47
ותסב חמש חמש סלעין לגלגלתא בסלעי קודשא תסב עשרין מעין סלעא:
wthsb khmsh khmsh sleyn lglgltha bsley qwdsha thsb eshryn meyn slea
you shall take five shekels apiece for each one; according to the shekel of the sanctuary you shall take them (the shekel is twenty gerahs );
48
ותתן כספא לאהרן ולבנוהי פרקן דיתירין בהון:
wththn kspa lahrn wlbnwhy prqn dythyryn bhwn
and you shall give the money, with which their remainder is redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.”
49
ונסיב משה ית כסף פרקנהון מן דיתירין על פריקי לואי:
wnsyb mshh yth ksp prqnhwn mn dythyryn el pryqy lway
Moses took the redemption money from those who exceeded the number of those who were redeemed by the Levites;
50
מן בוכריא דבני ישראל נסיב ית כספא אלף ותלת מאה ושתין וחמש סלעין בסלעי קודשא:
mn bwkrya dbny yshral nsyb yth kspa alp wthlth mah wshthyn wkhmsh sleyn bsley qwdsha
from the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary;

ויהב משה ית כסף פריקיא לאהרן ולבנוהי על מימרא דיי כמא די פקיד יי ית משה:
wyhb mshh yth ksp pryqya lahrn wlbnwhy el mymra dyy kma dy pqyd yy yth mshh
and Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and to his sons, according to Yahweh’s word, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
