ואלין תולדת אהרן ומשה ביומא דמליל יי עם משה בטורא דסיני:
dsyny bTwra mshh em yy dmlyl bywma wmshh ahrn thwldth walyn
Now this is the history of the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Yahweh spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai.

ואלין שמהת בני אהרן בוכרא נדב ואביהוא אלעזר ואיתמר:
waythmr alezr wabyhwa ndb bwkra ahrn bny shmhth walyn
These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

אלין שמהת בני אהרן כהניא דאתרביאו די אתקרב קרבנהון לשמשא:
lshmsha qrbnhwn athqrb dy dathrbyaw khnya ahrn bny shmhth alyn
These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.

ומית נדב ואביהוא קדם יי בקרוביהון אשתא נוכריתא קדם יי במדברא דסיני ובנין לא הוו להון ושמש אלעזר ואיתמר על אפי אהרן אבוהון:
abwhwn ahrn apy el waythmr alezr wshmsh lhwn hww la wbnyn dsyny bmdbra yy qdm nwkrytha ashtha bqrwbyhwn yy qdm wabyhwa ndb wmyth
Nadab and Abihu died before Yahweh when they offered strange fire before Yahweh in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children. Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence of Aaron their father.

קרב ית שבטא דלוי ותקים יתיה קדם אהרן כהנא וישמשון יתיה:
ythyh wyshmshwn khna ahrn qdm ythyh wthqym dlwy shbTa yth qrb
“Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.

ויטרון ית מטרתיה וית מטרת כל כנשתא קדם משכן זמנא למפלח ית פלחן משכנא:
mshkna plkhn yth lmplkh zmna mshkn qdm knshtha kl mTrth wyth mTrthyh yth wyTrwn
They shall keep his requirements, and the requirements of the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ויטרון ית כל מאני משכן זמנא וית מטרת בני ישראל למפלח ית פלחן משכנא:
mshkna plkhn yth lmplkh yshral bny mTrth wyth zmna mshkn many kl yth wyTrwn
They shall keep all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting, and the obligations of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ותתן ית לואי לאהרן ולבנוהי מסירין יהיבין אנון ליה מן בני ישראל:
yshral bny mn lyh anwn yhybyn msyryn wlbnwhy lahrn lway yth wththn
You shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons. They are wholly given to him on the behalf of the children of Israel.

וית אהרן וית בנוהי תמני ויטרון ית כהנתהון וחלוני דיקרב יתקטל:
ythqTl dyqrb wkhlwny khnthhwn yth wyTrwn thmny bnwhy wyth ahrn wyth
You shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood, but the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

ואנא הא קרבית ית לואי מגו בני ישראל חלף כל בוכרא פתח ולדא מבני ישראל ויהון משמשין קדמי לואי:
lway qdmy mshmshyn wyhwn yshral mbny wlda pthkh bwkra kl khlp yshral bny mgw lway yth qrbyth ha wana
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn who open the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine,

ארי דילי כל בוכרא ביומא דקטלית כל בוכרא בארעא דמצרים אקדשית קדמי כל בוכרא בישראל מאנשא עד בעירא דילי יהון אנא יי:
yy ana yhwn dyly beyra ed mansha byshral bwkra kl qdmy aqdshyth dmtsrym barea bwkra kl dqTlyth bywma bwkra kl dyly ary
for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I made holy to me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and animal. They shall be mine. I am Yahweh.”

ומליל יי עם משה במדברא דסיני למימר:
lmymr dsyny bmdbra mshh em yy wmlyl
Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

מני ית בני לוי לבית אבהתהון לזרעיתהון כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא תמננון:
thmnnwn wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl lzreythhwn abhthhwn lbyth lwy bny yth mny
“Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families. You shall count every male from a month old and upward.”

ומנא יתהון משה על מימרא דיי כמא דאתפקד:
dathpqd kma dyy mymra el mshh ythhwn wmna
Moses counted them according to Yahweh’s word, as he was commanded.
17
והוו אלין בני לוי בשמהתהון גרשון וקהת ומררי:
wmrry wqhth grshwn bshmhthhwn lwy bny alyn whww
These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
18
ואלין שמהת בני גרשון לזרעיתהון לבני ושמעי:
wshmey lbny lzreythhwn grshwn bny shmhth walyn
These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.
19
ובני קהת לזרעיתהון עמרם ויצהר חברון ועזיאל:
wezyal khbrwn wytshr emrm lzreythhwn qhth wbny
The sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
20
ובני מררי לזרעיתהון מחלי ומושי אלין אנון זרעית לואי לבית אבהתהון:
abhthhwn lbyth lway zreyth anwn alyn wmwshy mkhly lzreythhwn mrry wbny
The sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.

לגרשון זרעית לבני וזרעית שמעי אלין אנון זרעית גרשון:
grshwn zreyth anwn alyn shmey wzreyth lbny zreyth lgrshwn
Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites. These are the families of the Gershonites.
22
מניניהון במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא מניניהון שבעא אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn shbea mnynyhwn wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl bmnyn mnynyhwn
Those who were counted of them, according to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, even those who were counted of them were seven thousand five hundred.

זרעית גרשון אחורי משכנא ישרון מערבא:
merba yshrwn mshkna akhwry grshwn zreyth
The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward.
24
ורב בית אבא לבית גרשון אליסף בר לאל:
lal br alysp grshwn lbyth aba byth wrb
Eliasaph the son of Lael shall be the prince of the fathers’ house of the Gershonites.
25
ומטרת בני גרשון במשכן זמנא משכנא ופרסא חופאיה ופרסא דתרע משכן זמנא:
zmna mshkn dthre wprsa khwpayh wprsa mshkna zmna bmshkn grshwn bny wmTrth
The duty of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting shall be the tabernacle, the tent, its covering, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

וסרדי דדרתא וית פרסא דתרע דרתא די על משכנא ועל מדבחא סחור סחור וית אטונוהי לכל פולחניה:
pwlkhnyh lkl aTwnwhy wyth skhwr skhwr mdbkha wel mshkna el dy drtha dthre prsa wyth ddrtha wsrdy
the hangings of the court, the screen for the door of the court which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, and its cords for all of its service.
27
ולקהת זרעית עמרם וזרעית יצהר וזרעית חברון וזרעית עזיאל אלין אנון זרעית קהת:
qhth zreyth anwn alyn ezyal wzreyth khbrwn wzreyth ytshr wzreyth emrm zreyth wlqhth
Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, the family of the Izharites, the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites.

במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא תמניא אלפין ושית מאה נטרי מטרתא דקודשא:
dqwdsha mTrtha nTry mah wshyth alpyn thmnya wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl bmnyn
According to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred keeping the requirements of the sanctuary.

זרעית בני קהת ישרון על צדא דמשכנא דרומא:
drwma dmshkna tsda el yshrwn qhth bny zreyth
The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the south side of the tabernacle.
30
ורב בית אבא לזרעית קהת אליצפן בר עזיאל:
ezyal br alytspn qhth lzreyth aba byth wrb
The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
31
ומטרתהון ארונא ופתורא ומנרתא ומדבחא ומני קודשא די ישמשון בהון ופרסא וכל פלחניה:
plkhnyh wkl wprsa bhwn yshmshwn dy qwdsha wmny wmdbkha wmnrtha wpthwra arwna wmTrthhwn
Their duty shall be the ark, the table, the lamp stand, the altars, the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, the screen, and all its service.
32
ואמרכלא דממנא על רברבי לואי אלעזר בר אהרן כהנא דמתחות ידוהי ממנן נטרי מטרת קודשא:
qwdsha mTrth nTry mmnn ydwhy dmthkhwth khna ahrn br alezr lway rbrby el dmmna wamrkla
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the requirements of the sanctuary.
33
למררי זרעית מחלי וזרעית מושי אלין אנון זרעית מררי:
mrry zreyth anwn alyn mwshy wzreyth mkhly zreyth lmrry
Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari.

ומניניהון במנין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא שתא אלפין ומאתן:
wmathn alpyn shtha wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl bmnyn wmnynyhwn
Those who were counted of them, according to the number of all the males from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred.

ורב בית אבא לזרעית מררי צוריאל בר אביחיל על צדא דמשכנא ישרון צפונא:
tspwna yshrwn dmshkna tsda el abykhyl br tswryal mrry lzreyth aba byth wrb
The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall encamp on the north side of the tabernacle.
36
ודי מסיר למטרת בני מררי דפי משכנא ועברוהי ועמודוהי וסמכוהי וכל מנוהי וכל פולחניה:
pwlkhnyh wkl mnwhy wkl wsmkwhy wemwdwhy webrwhy mshkna dpy mrry bny lmTrth msyr wdy
The appointed duty of the sons of Merari shall be the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its instruments, all its service,

ועמודי דדרתא סחור סחור וסמכיהון וסכיהון ואטוניהון:
waTwnyhwn wskyhwn wsmkyhwn skhwr skhwr ddrtha wemwdy
the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, and their cords.
38
ודי שרן קדם משכנא קדומא קדם משכן זמנא מדינחא משה ואהרן ובנוהי נטרין מטרת מקדשא למטרת בני ישראל וחלוני דיקרב יתקטל:
ythqTl dyqrb wkhlwny yshral bny lmTrth mqdsha mTrth nTryn wbnwhy wahrn mshh mdynkha zmna mshkn qdm qdwma mshkna qdm shrn wdy
Those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses, with Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
39
כל מניני לואי די מנא משה ואהרן על מימרא דיי לזרעיתהון כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא עשרין ותרין אלפין:
alpyn wthryn eshryn wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl lzreythhwn dyy mymra el wahrn mshh mna dy lway mnyny kl
All who were counted of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron counted at the commandment of Yahweh, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.
40
ואמר יי למשה מני כל בוכריא דכריא לבני ישראל מבר ירחא ולעלא וקבל ית מנין שמהתהון:
shmhthhwn mnyn yth wqbl wlela yrkha mbr yshral lbny dkrya bwkrya kl mny lmshh yy wamr
Yahweh said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
41
ותקרב ית לואי קדמי אנא יי חלף כל בוכרא בבני ישראל וית בעירא דלואי חלף כל בוכרא בבעירא דבני ישראל:
yshral dbny bbeyra bwkra kl khlp dlway beyra wyth yshral bbny bwkra kl khlp yy ana qdmy lway yth wthqrb
You shall take the Levites for me—I am Yahweh—instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the livestock of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the livestock of the children of Israel.”
42
ומנא משה כמא די פקיד יי יתיה ית כל בוכרא בבני ישראל:
yshral bbny bwkra kl yth ythyh yy pqyd dy kma mshh wmna
Moses counted, as Yahweh commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
43
והוו כל בוכריא דכריא במנין שמהן מבר ירחא ולעלא למניניהון עשרין ותרין אלפין מאתן ושבעין ותלתא:
wthltha wshbeyn mathn alpyn wthryn eshryn lmnynyhwn wlela yrkha mbr shmhn bmnyn dkrya bwkrya kl whww
All the firstborn males according to the number of names from a month old and upward, of those who were counted of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.
45
קרב ית לואי חלף כל בוכרא בבני ישראל וית בעירא דלואי חלף בעירהון ויהון משמשין קדמי לואי אנא יי:
yy ana lway qdmy mshmshyn wyhwn beyrhwn khlp dlway beyra wyth yshral bbny bwkra kl khlp lway yth qrb
“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am Yahweh.
46
וית פרקן מאתן ושבעין ותלתא דיתירין על לואי מבוכריא דבני ישראל:
yshral dbny mbwkrya lway el dythyryn wthltha wshbeyn mathn prqn wyth
For the redemption of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel who exceed the number of the Levites,
47
ותסב חמש חמש סלעין לגלגלתא בסלעי קודשא תסב עשרין מעין סלעא:
slea meyn eshryn thsb qwdsha bsley lglgltha sleyn khmsh khmsh wthsb
you shall take five shekels apiece for each one; according to the shekel of the sanctuary you shall take them (the shekel is twenty gerahs );
48
ותתן כספא לאהרן ולבנוהי פרקן דיתירין בהון:
bhwn dythyryn prqn wlbnwhy lahrn kspa wththn
and you shall give the money, with which their remainder is redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.”
49
ונסיב משה ית כסף פרקנהון מן דיתירין על פריקי לואי:
lway pryqy el dythyryn mn prqnhwn ksp yth mshh wnsyb
Moses took the redemption money from those who exceeded the number of those who were redeemed by the Levites;
50
מן בוכריא דבני ישראל נסיב ית כספא אלף ותלת מאה ושתין וחמש סלעין בסלעי קודשא:
qwdsha bsley sleyn wkhmsh wshthyn mah wthlth alp kspa yth nsyb yshral dbny bwkrya mn
from the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary;
