Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

“The children of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall encamp around the Tent of Meeting at a distance from it.

ודי שרן קדומא מדינחא טקס משרית יהודה לחיליהון ורבא לבני יהודה נחשון בר עמינדב:
wdy shrn qdwma mdynkha Tqs mshryth yhwdh lkhylyhwn wrba lbny yhwdh nkhshwn br emyndb
“Those who encamp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

וחיליה ומניניהון שבעין וארבעא אלפין ושית מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn shbeyn warbea alpyn wshyth mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

ודי שרן סמיכין עלוהי שבטא דיששכר ורבא לבני יששכר נתנאל בר צוער:
wdy shrn smykyn elwhy shbTa dyshshkr wrba lbny yshshkr nthnal br tswer
“Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar. The prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.

וחיליה ומנינוהי חמשין וארבעא אלפין וארבע מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynwhy khmshyn warbea alpyn warbe mah
His division, and those who were counted of it, were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

שבטא דזבולן ורבא לבני זבולן אליאב בר חלון:
shbTa dzbwln wrba lbny zbwln alyab br khlwn
“The tribe of Zebulun: the prince of the children of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon.

וחיליה ומנינוהי חמשין ושבעא אלפין וארבע מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynwhy khmshyn wshbea alpyn warbe mah
His division, and those who were counted of it, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

כל מניניא למשרית יהודה מאה ותמנן ושתא אלפין וארבע מאה לחיליהון בקדמיתא נטלין:
kl mnynya lmshryth yhwdh mah wthmnn wshtha alpyn warbe mah lkhylyhwn bqdmytha nTlyn
“All who were counted of the camp of Judah were one hundred eighty-six thousand four hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out first.

טקס משרית ראובן דרומא לחיליהון ורבא לבני ראובן אליצור בר שדיאור:
Tqs mshryth rawbn drwma lkhylyhwn wrba lbny rawbn alytswr br shdyawr
“On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

וחיליה ומנינוהי ארבעין ושתא אלפין וחמש מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynwhy arbeyn wshtha alpyn wkhmsh mah
His division, and those who were counted of it, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

ודי שרן סמיכין עלוהי שבטא דשמעון ורבא לבני שמעון שלמיאל בר צורישדי:
wdy shrn smykyn elwhy shbTa dshmewn wrba lbny shmewn shlmyal br tswryshdy
“Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon. The prince of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

וחיליה ומניניהון חמשין ותשע אלפין ותלת מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn khmshyn wthshe alpyn wthlth mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

ושבטא דגד ורבא לבני גד אליסף בר רעואל:
wshbTa dgd wrba lbny gd alysp br rewal
“The tribe of Gad: the prince of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

וחיליה ומניניהון ארבעין וחמשא אלפין ושית מאה וחמשין:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn arbeyn wkhmsha alpyn wshyth mah wkhmshyn
His division, and those who were counted of them, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
16
כל מניניא למשרית ראובן מאה וחמשין וחד אלפין וארבע מאה וחמשין לחיליהון בתניתא נטלין:
kl mnynya lmshryth rawbn mah wkhmshyn wkhd alpyn warbe mah wkhmshyn lkhylyhwn bthnytha nTlyn
“All who were counted of the camp of Reuben were one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty, according to their armies. They shall set out second.

ונטל משכן זמנא משרית לואי בגו משריתא כמא דשרן כן נטלין גבר על אתריה לטקסיהון:
wnTl mshkn zmna mshryth lway bgw mshrytha kma dshrn kn nTlyn gbr el athryh lTqsyhwn
“Then the Tent of Meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set out, every man in his place, by their standards.

טקס משרית אפרים לחיליהון מערבא ורבא לבני אפרים אלישמע בר עמיהוד:
Tqs mshryth aprym lkhylyhwn merba wrba lbny aprym alyshme br emyhwd
“On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

וחיליה ומניניהון ארבעין אלפין וחמש מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn arbeyn alpyn wkhmsh mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were forty thousand five hundred.
20
ודסמיכין עלוהי שבטא דמנשה ורבא לבני מנשה גמליאל בר פדהצור:
wdsmykyn elwhy shbTa dmnshh wrba lbny mnshh gmlyal br pdhtswr
“Next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh. The prince of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

וחיליה ומניניהון תלתין ותרין אלפין ומאתן:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn thlthyn wthryn alpyn wmathn
His division, and those who were counted of them, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
22
ושבטא דבנימן ורבא לבני בנימן אבידן בר גדעוני:
wshbTa dbnymn wrba lbny bnymn abydn br gdewny
“The tribe of Benjamin: the prince of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.

וחיליה ומניניהון תלתין וחמשא אלפין וארבע מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn thlthyn wkhmsha alpyn warbe mah
His army, and those who were counted of them, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
24
כל מניניא למשרית אפרים מאה ותמני אלפין ומאה לחיליהון בתליתתא נטלין:
kl mnynya lmshryth aprym mah wthmny alpyn wmah lkhylyhwn bthlyththa nTlyn
“All who were counted of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred eight thousand one hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out third.

טקס משרית דן צפונא לחיליהון ורבא לבני דן אחיעזר בר עמישדי:
Tqs mshryth dn tspwna lkhylyhwn wrba lbny dn akhyezr br emyshdy
“On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

וחיליה ומניניהון שתין ותרין אלפין ושבע מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn shthyn wthryn alpyn wshbe mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
27
ודי שרן סמיכין עלוהי שבטא דאשר ורבא לבני אשר פגעיאל בר עכרן:
wdy shrn smykyn elwhy shbTa dashr wrba lbny ashr pgeyal br ekrn
“Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher. The prince of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ochran.

וחיליה ומניניהון ארבעין וחד אלפין וחמש מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn arbeyn wkhd alpyn wkhmsh mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were forty-one thousand five hundred.
29
ושבטא דנפתלי ורבא לבני נפתלי אחירע בר עינן:
wshbTa dnpthly wrba lbny npthly akhyre br eynn
“The tribe of Naphtali: the prince of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.
30
וחיליה ומניניהון חמשין ותלתא אלפין וארבע מאה:
wkhylyh wmnynyhwn khmshyn wthltha alpyn warbe mah
His division, and those who were counted of them, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
31
כל מניניא למשרית דן מאה וחמשין ושבעא אלפין ושית מאה בבתרתא נטלין לטקסיהון:
kl mnynya lmshryth dn mah wkhmshyn wshbea alpyn wshyth mah bbthrtha nTlyn lTqsyhwn
“All who were counted of the camp of Dan were one hundred fifty-seven thousand six hundred. They shall set out last by their standards.”

אלין מניני בני ישראל לבית אבהתהון כל מניני משריתא לחיליהון שית מאה ותלתא אלפין וחמש מאה וחמשין:
alyn mnyny bny yshral lbyth abhthhwn kl mnyny mshrytha lkhylyhwn shyth mah wthltha alpyn wkhmsh mah wkhmshyn
These are those who were counted of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses. All who were counted of the camps according to their armies were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.

ולואי לא אתמניאו בגו בני ישראל כמא די פקיד יי ית משה:
wlway la athmnyaw bgw bny yshral kma dy pqyd yy yth mshh
But the Levites were not counted among the children of Israel, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

ועבדו בני ישראל ככל די פקיד יי ית משה כן שרן לטקסיהון וכן נטלין גבר לזרעיתהון על בית אבהתוהי:
webdw bny yshral kkl dy pqyd yy yth mshh kn shrn lTqsyhwn wkn nTlyn gbr lzreythhwn el byth abhthwhy
Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set out, everyone by their families, according to their fathers’ houses.
