וקריבא בנת צלפחד בר חפר בר גלעד בר מכיר בר מנשה לזרעית מנשה בר יוסף ואלין שמהת בנתיה מחלה נועה וחגלה ומלכה ותרצה:
wthrtsh wmlkh wkhglh nweh mkhlh bnthyh shmhth walyn ywsp br mnshh lzreyth mnshh br mkyr br gled br khpr br tslpkhd bnth wqryba
Then the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph came near. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

וקמא קדם משה וקדם אלעזר כהנא וקדם רברביא וכל כנשתא בתרע משכן זמנא למימר:
lmymr zmna mshkn bthre knshtha wkl rbrbya wqdm khna alezr wqdm mshh qdm wqma
They stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, at the door of the Tent of Meeting, saying,

אבונא מית במדברא והוא לא הוה בגו כנשתא דאזדמנו על יי בכנשתא דקרח ארי בחוביה מית ובנין לא הוו ליה:
lyh hww la wbnyn myth bkhwbyh ary dqrkh bknshtha yy el dazdmnw knshtha bgw hwh la whwa bmdbra myth abwna
“Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against Yahweh in the company of Korah, but he died in his own sin. He had no sons.

למא יתמנע שמא דאבונא מגו זרעיתיה ארי לית ליה בר הב לנא אחסנא בגו אחי אבונא:
abwna akhy bgw akhsna lna hb br lyh lyth ary zreythyh mgw dabwna shma ythmne lma
Why should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among the brothers of our father.”

יאות בנת צלפחד ממללן מתן תתן להון אחודת אחסנא בגו אחי אבוהן ותעבר ית אחסנת אבוהן להן:
lhn abwhn akhsnth yth wthebr abwhn akhy bgw akhsna akhwdth lhwn ththn mthn mmlln tslpkhd bnth yawth
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak right. You shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brothers. You shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.

ועם בני ישראל תמלל למימר גבר ארי ימות ובר לית ליה ותעברון ית אחסנתיה לברתיה:
lbrthyh akhsnthyh yth wthebrwn lyh lyth wbr ymwth ary gbr lmymr thmll yshral bny wem
You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.

ואם לית ליה ברתא ותתנון ית אחסנתיה לאחוהי:
lakhwhy akhsnthyh yth wththnwn brtha lyh lyth wam
If he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers.
10
ואם לית ליה אחין ותתנון ית אחסנתיה לאחי אבוהי:
abwhy lakhy akhsnthyh yth wththnwn akhyn lyh lyth wam
If he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
11
ואם לית אחין לאבוהי ותתנון ית אחסנתיה לקריביה דקריב ליה מזרעיתיה וירת יתה ותהי לבני ישראל לגזרת דין כמא די פקיד יי ית משה:
mshh yth yy pqyd dy kma dyn lgzrth yshral lbny wthhy ythh wyrth mzreythyh lyh dqryb lqrybyh akhsnthyh yth wththnwn labwhy akhyn lyth wam
If his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it. This shall be a statute and ordinance for the children of Israel, as Yahweh commanded Moses.’”

ואמר יי למשה סק לטורא דעבראי הדין וחזי ית ארעא די יהבית לבני ישראל:
yshral lbny yhbyth dy area yth wkhzy hdyn debray lTwra sq lmshh yy wamr
Yahweh said to Moses, “Go up into this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the children of Israel.

ותחזי יתה ותתכנש לעמיך אף את כמא די אתכניש אהרן אחוך:
akhwk ahrn athknysh dy kma ath ap lemyk wththknsh ythh wthkhzy
When you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered;
14
כמא די סריבתון על מימרי במדברא דצן במצות כנשתא לקדשותי במיא לעיניהון אנון מי מצות רקם מדברא דצן:
dtsn mdbra rqm mtswth my anwn leynyhwn bmya lqdshwthy knshtha bmtswth dtsn bmdbra mymry el srybthwn dy kma
because in the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, to honor me as holy at the waters before their eyes.” (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

ימני יי אלהא רוחיא לכל בסרא גבר על כנשתא:
knshtha el gbr bsra lkl rwkhya alha yy ymny
“Let Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,

די יפוק קדמיהון ודי יעול קדמיהון ודי יפקנון ודי יעלנון ולא תהי כנשתא דיי כענא די לית להן רעי:
rey lhn lyth dy kena dyy knshtha thhy wla yelnwn wdy ypqnwn wdy qdmyhwn yewl wdy qdmyhwn ypwq dy
who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, that the congregation of Yahweh may not be as sheep which have no shepherd.”

ואמר יי למשה דבר לך ית יהושע בר נון גבר די רוח נבואה ביה ותסמוך ית ידך עלוהי:
elwhy ydk yth wthsmwk byh nbwah rwkh dy gbr nwn br yhwshe yth lk dbr lmshh yy wamr
Yahweh said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him.

ותקים יתיה לקדם אלעזר כהנא ולקדם כל כנשתא ותפקד יתיה לעיניהון:
leynyhwn ythyh wthpqd knshtha kl wlqdm khna alezr lqdm ythyh wthqym
Set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and commission him in their sight.
20
ותתן מזיוך עלוהי בדיל די יקבלון מניה כל כנשתא דבני ישראל:
yshral dbny knshtha kl mnyh yqblwn dy bdyl elwhy mzywk wththn
You shall give authority to him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.
21
ולקדם אלעזר כהנא יקום וישאל ליה בדין אוריא קדם יי על מימריה יהון נפקין ועל מימריה יהון עלין הוא וכל בני ישראל עמיה וכל כנשתא:
knshtha wkl emyh yshral bny wkl hwa elyn yhwn mymryh wel npqyn yhwn mymryh el yy qdm awrya bdyn lyh wyshal yqwm khna alezr wlqdm
He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.”
22
ועבד משה כמא די פקיד יי יתיה ודבר ית יהושע ואקימיה קדם אלעזר כהנא וקדם כל כנשתא:
knshtha kl wqdm khna alezr qdm waqymyh yhwshe yth wdbr ythyh yy pqyd dy kma mshh webd
Moses did as Yahweh commanded him. He took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.
