והוה בתר מותנא ואמר יי למשה ולאלעזר בר אהרן כהנא למימר:
lmymr khna ahrn br wlalezr lmshh yy wamr mwthna bthr whwh
After the plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

קבילו ית חשבן כל כנשתא דבני ישראל מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא לבית אבהתהון כל נפק חילא בישראל:
byshral khyla npq kl abhthhwn lbyth wlela shnyn eshryn mbr yshral dbny knshtha kl khshbn yth qbylw
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.”

ומליל משה ואלעזר כהנא אמרו לממני יתהון במישריא דמואב על ירדנא דירחו למימר:
lmymr dyrkhw yrdna el dmwab bmyshrya ythhwn lmmny amrw khna walezr mshh wmlyl
Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כמא די פקיד יי ית משה ובני ישראל די נפקו מארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym marea npqw dy yshral wbny mshh yth yy pqyd dy kma wlela shnyn eshryn mbr
“Take a census, from twenty years old and upward, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those who came out of the land of Egypt.

ראובן בוכרא דישראל בני ראובן חנוך זרעית חנוך לפלוא זרעית פלוא:
plwa zreyth lplwa khnwk zreyth khnwk rawbn bny dyshral bwkra rawbn
Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

לחצרון זרעית חצרון לכרמי זרעית כרמי:
krmy zreyth lkrmy khtsrwn zreyth lkhtsrwn
of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

אלין זרעית ראובן והוו מניניהון ארבעין ותלתא אלפין ושבע מאה ותלתין:
wthlthyn mah wshbe alpyn wthltha arbeyn mnynyhwn whww rawbn zreyth alyn
These are the families of the Reubenites; and those who were counted of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred thirty.

ובני אליאב נמואל ודתן ואבירם הוא דתן ואבירם מערעי כנשתא דאתכנשו על משה ועל אהרן בכנשתא דקרח באתכנושיהון על יי:
yy el bathknwshyhwn dqrkh bknshtha ahrn wel mshh el dathknshw knshtha merey wabyrm dthn hwa wabyrm wdthn nmwal alyab wbny
The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who rebelled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah when they rebelled against Yahweh;

ופתחת ארעא ית פומה ובלעת יתהון וית קרח במותא דכנשתא כד אכלת אשתא ית מאתן וחמשין גברא והוו לאת:
lath whww gbra wkhmshyn mathn yth ashtha aklth kd dknshtha bmwtha qrkh wyth ythhwn wbleth pwmh yth area wpthkhth
and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

בני שמעון לזרעיתהון לנמואל זרעית נמואל לימין זרעית ימין ליכין זרעית יכין:
ykyn zreyth lykyn ymyn zreyth lymyn nmwal zreyth lnmwal lzreythhwn shmewn bny
The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

לזרח זרעית זרח לשאול זרעית שאול:
shawl zreyth lshawl zrkh zreyth lzrkh
of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.

אלין זרעית שמעון עשרין ותרין אלפין ומאתן:
wmathn alpyn wthryn eshryn shmewn zreyth alyn
These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty-two thousand two hundred.

בני גד לזרעיתהון לצפון זרעית צפון לחגי זרעית חגי לשוני זרעית שוני:
shwny zreyth lshwny khgy zreyth lkhgy tspwn zreyth ltspwn lzreythhwn gd bny
The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

לאזני זרעית אזני לערי זרעית ערי:
ery zreyth lery azny zreyth lazny
of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;

לארוד זרעית ארודי לאראלי זרעית אראלי:
araly zreyth laraly arwdy zreyth larwd
of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.

אלין זרעית בני גד למניניהון ארבעין אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn arbeyn lmnynyhwn gd bny zreyth alyn
These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were counted of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

בני יהודה ער ואונן ומית ער ואונן בארעא דכנען:
dknen barea wawnn er wmyth wawnn er yhwdh bny
The sons of Judah: Er and Onan. Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20
והוו בני יהודה לזרעיתהון לשלה זרעית שלה לפרץ זרעית פרץ לזרח זרעית זרח:
zrkh zreyth lzrkh prts zreyth lprts shlh zreyth lshlh lzreythhwn yhwdh bny whww
The sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.

והוו בני פרץ לחצרון זרעית חצרון לחמול זרעית חמול:
khmwl zreyth lkhmwl khtsrwn zreyth lkhtsrwn prts bny whww
The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22
אלין זרעית יהודה למניניהון שבעין ושתא אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn wshtha shbeyn lmnynyhwn yhwdh zreyth alyn
These are the families of Judah according to those who were counted of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.

בני יששכר לזרעיתהון תולע זרעית תולע לפוה זרעית פוני:
pwny zreyth lpwh thwle zreyth thwle lzreythhwn yshshkr bny
The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;

לישוב זרעית ישוב לשמרון זרעית שמרון:
shmrwn zreyth lshmrwn yshwb zreyth lyshwb
of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

אלין זרעית יששכר למניניהון שתין וארבעא אלפין ותלת מאה:
mah wthlth alpyn warbea shthyn lmnynyhwn yshshkr zreyth alyn
These are the families of Issachar according to those who were counted of them, sixty-four thousand three hundred.

בני זבולן לזרעיתהון לסרד זרעית סרד לאלון זרעית אלון ליחלאל זרעית יחלאל:
ykhlal zreyth lykhlal alwn zreyth lalwn srd zreyth lsrd lzreythhwn zbwln bny
The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.

אלין זרעית זבולן למניניהון שתין אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn shthyn lmnynyhwn zbwln zreyth alyn
These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were counted of them, sixty thousand five hundred.

בני יוסף לזרעיתהון מנשה ואפרים:
waprym mnshh lzreythhwn ywsp bny
The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.

בני מנשה למכיר זרעית מכיר ומכיר אוליד ית גלעד לגלעד זרעית גלעד:
gled zreyth lgled gled yth awlyd wmkyr mkyr zreyth lmkyr mnshh bny
The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir became the father of Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

אלין בני גלעד איעזר זרעית איעזר לחלק זרעית חלק:
khlq zreyth lkhlq ayezr zreyth ayezr gled bny alyn
These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
31
ואשריאל זרעית אשריאלי ושכם זרעית שכם:
shkm zreyth wshkm ashryaly zreyth washryal
and Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
32
ושמידע זרעית שמידע וחפר זרעית חפר:
khpr zreyth wkhpr shmyde zreyth wshmyde
and Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33
וצלפחד בר חפר לא הוו ליה בנין אלהן בנן ושום בנת צלפחד מחלה ונועה חגלה מלכה ותרצה:
wthrtsh mlkh khglh wnweh mkhlh tslpkhd bnth wshwm bnn alhn bnyn lyh hww la khpr br wtslpkhd
Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

אלין זרעית מנשה ומניניהון חמשין ותרין אלפין ושבע מאה:
mah wshbe alpyn wthryn khmshyn wmnynyhwn mnshh zreyth alyn
These are the families of Manasseh. Those who were counted of them were fifty-two thousand seven hundred.
35
אלין בני אפרים לזרעיתהון לשותלח זרעית שותלח לבכר זרעית בכר לתחן זרעית תחן:
thkhn zreyth lthkhn bkr zreyth lbkr shwthlkh zreyth lshwthlkh lzreythhwn aprym bny alyn
These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

ואלין בני שותלח לערן זרעית ערן:
ern zreyth lern shwthlkh bny walyn
These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37
אלין זרעית בני אפרים למניניהון תלתין ותרין אלפין וחמש מאה אלין בני יוסף לזרעיתהון:
lzreythhwn ywsp bny alyn mah wkhmsh alpyn wthryn thlthyn lmnynyhwn aprym bny zreyth alyn
These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were counted of them, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.

בני בנימן לזרעיתהון לבלע זרעית בלע לאשבל זרעית אשבל לאחירם זרעית אחירם:
akhyrm zreyth lakhyrm ashbl zreyth lashbl ble zreyth lble lzreythhwn bnymn bny
The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;

לשפופם זרעית שפופם לחופם זרעית חופם:
khwpm zreyth lkhwpm shpwpm zreyth lshpwpm
of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40
והוו בני בלע ארד ונעמן זרעית הארדי לנעמן זרעית נעמי:
nemy zreyth lnemn hardy zreyth wnemn ard ble bny whww
The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: the family of the Ardites; and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41
אלין בני בנימן לזרעיתהון ומניניהון ארבעין וחמשא אלפין ושית מאה:
mah wshyth alpyn wkhmsha arbeyn wmnynyhwn lzreythhwn bnymn bny alyn
These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and those who were counted of them were forty-five thousand six hundred.

אלין בני דן לזרעיתהון לשוחם זרעית שוחם אלין זרעית דן לזרעיתהון:
lzreythhwn dn zreyth alyn shwkhm zreyth lshwkhm lzreythhwn dn bny alyn
These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43
כל זרעית שוחם למניניהון שתין וארבע אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn warbe shthyn lmnynyhwn shwkhm zreyth kl
All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those who were counted of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.
44
בני אשר לזרעיתהון לימנה זרעית ימנה לישוי זרעית ישוי לבריעה זרעית בריעה:
bryeh zreyth lbryeh yshwy zreyth lyshwy ymnh zreyth lymnh lzreythhwn ashr bny
The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.

לבני בריעה לחבר זרעית חבר למלכיאל זרעית מלכיאל:
mlkyal zreyth lmlkyal khbr zreyth lkhbr bryeh lbny
Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.

אלין זרעית בני אשר למניניהון חמשין ותלתא אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn wthltha khmshyn lmnynyhwn ashr bny zreyth alyn
These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those who were counted of them, fifty-three thousand four hundred.

בני נפתלי לזרעיתהון ליחצאל זרעית יחצאל לגוני זרעית גוני:
gwny zreyth lgwny ykhtsal zreyth lykhtsal lzreythhwn npthly bny
The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

ליצר זרעית יצר לשלם זרעית שלם:
shlm zreyth lshlm ytsr zreyth lytsr
of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.

אלין זרעית נפתלי לזרעיתהון ומניניהון ארבעין וחמשא אלפין וארבע מאה:

These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those who were counted of them were forty-five thousand four hundred.

אלין מניני בני ישראל שית מאה וחד אלפין שבע מאה ותלתין:
wthlthyn mah shbe alpyn wkhd mah shyth yshral bny mnyny alyn
These are those who were counted of the children of Israel, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.

לאלין תתפלג ארעא באחסנא במנין שמהן:
shmhn bmnyn bakhsna area ththplg lalyn
“To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54
לסגיאי תסגון אחסנתהון ולזעירי תזערון אחסנתהון גבר לפום מנינוהי תתיהב אחסנתיה:
akhsnthyh ththyhb mnynwhy lpwm gbr akhsnthhwn thzerwn wlzeyry akhsnthhwn thsgwn lsgyay
To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance. To everyone according to those who were counted of him shall his inheritance be given.

ברם בעדבא תתפלג ית ארעא לשמהן שבטי אבהתהון יחסנון:
ykhsnwn abhthhwn shbTy lshmhn area yth ththplg bedba brm
Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot. According to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56
על פום עדבא תתפלג אחסנתהון בין סגיאי לזעירי:
lzeyry sgyay byn akhsnthhwn ththplg edba pwm el
According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.”
57
ואלין מניני לואי לזרעיתהון לגרשון זרעית גרשון לקהת זרעית קהת למררי זרעית מררי:
mrry zreyth lmrry qhth zreyth lqhth grshwn zreyth lgrshwn lzreythhwn lway mnyny walyn
These are those who were counted of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

אלין זרעית לוי זרעית לבני זרעית חברון זרעית מחלי זרעית מושי זרעית קרח וקהת אוליד ית עמרם:
emrm yth awlyd wqhth qrkh zreyth mwshy zreyth mkhly zreyth khbrwn zreyth lbny zreyth lwy zreyth alyn
These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korahites. Kohath became the father of Amram.

ושום אתת עמרם יוכבד בת לוי דילדת יתה ללוי במצרים וילדת לעמרם ית אהרן וית משה וית מרים אחתהון:
akhthhwn mrym wyth mshh wyth ahrn yth lemrm wyldth bmtsrym llwy ythh dyldth lwy bth ywkbd emrm athth wshwm
The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

ואתיליד לאהרן ית נדב וית אביהוא ית אלעזר וית איתמר:
aythmr wyth alezr yth abyhwa wyth ndb yth lahrn wathylyd
To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61
ומית נדב ואביהוא בקרובהון אשתא נוכרתא קדם יי:
yy qdm nwkrtha ashtha bqrwbhwn wabyhwa ndb wmyth
Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before Yahweh.
62
והוו מניניהון עשרין ותלתא אלפין כל דכורא מבר ירחא ולעלא ארי לא אתמניאו בגו בני ישראל ארי לא אתיהיבת להון אחסנא בגו בני ישראל:
yshral bny bgw akhsna lhwn athyhybth la ary yshral bny bgw athmnyaw la ary wlela yrkha mbr dkwra kl alpyn wthltha eshryn mnynyhwn whww
Those who were counted of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward; for they were not counted among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

אלין מניני משה ואלעזר כהנא די מנו ית בני ישראל במישריא דמואב על ירדנא דירחו:
dyrkhw yrdna el dmwab bmyshrya yshral bny yth mnw dy khna walezr mshh mnyny alyn
These are those who were counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who counted the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

ובאלין לא הוה גבר ממניני משה ואהרן כהנא די מנו ית בני ישראל במדברא דסיני:
dsyny bmdbra yshral bny yth mnw dy khna wahrn mshh mmnyny gbr hwh la wbalyn
But among these there was not a man of them who were counted by Moses and Aaron the priest, who counted the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

ארי אמר יי להון ממת ימותון במדברא ולא אשתאר מנהון אנש אלהן כלב בר יפנה ויהושע בר נון:
nwn br wyhwshe ypnh br klb alhn ansh mnhwn ashthar wla bmdbra ymwthwn mmth lhwn yy amr ary
For Yahweh had said of them, “They shall surely die in the wilderness.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
