וחזא בלעם ארי תקין קדם יי לברכא ית ישראל ולא הלך כזמן בזמן אלהן לקדמות נחשיא ושוי למדברא אפוהי:
wkhza blem ary thqyn qdm yy lbrka yth yshral wla hlk kzmn bzmn alhn lqdmwth nkhshya wshwy lmdbra apwhy
When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to use divination, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

וזקף בלעם ית ענוהי וחזא ית ישראל שרן לשבטוהי ושרת עלוהי רוח נבואה מן קדם יי:
wzqp blem yth enwhy wkhza yth yshral shrn lshbTwhy wshrth elwhy rwkh nbwah mn qdm yy
Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

ונטל מתליה ואמר אמר בלעם בריה בעור ואמר גברא דשפיר חזי:
wnTl mthlyh wamr amr blem bryh bewr wamr gbra dshpyr khzy
He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;

אמר דשמע מימר מן קדם אל וחזו מן קדם שדי חזי שכיב ומתגלי ליה:
amr dshme mymr mn qdm al wkhzw mn qdm shdy khzy shkyb wmthgly lyh
he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

מא טבא ארעך יעקב בית מישריך ישראל:
ma Tba arek yeqb byth myshryk yshral
How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your dwellings, Israel!

כנחלין דמדברין כגנת שקיא דעל פרת כבוסמיא דנציב יי כארזין דנציבין על מיא:
knkhlyn dmdbryn kgnth shqya del prth kbwsmya dntsyb yy karzyn dntsybyn el mya
As valleys they are spread out, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which Yahweh has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.

יסגי מלכא דיתרבא מבנוהי וישלוט בעממין סגיאין ויתקוף מאגג מלכיה ותתנטל מלכותיה:
ysgy mlka dythrba mbnwhy wyshlwT bemmyn sgyayn wythqwp magg mlkyh wththnTl mlkwthyh
Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.

אלהא דאפקנון ממצרים תקפא ורומא דיליה ייכלון בני ישראל נכסי עממיא סנאיהון ובבזת מלכיהון יתפנקון וארעתהון יחסנון:
alha dapqnwn mmtsrym thqpa wrwma dylyh yyklwn bny yshral nksy emmya snayhwn wbbzth mlkyhwn ythpnqwn warethhwn ykhsnwn
God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall consume the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.

ינוח ישרי בתקוף כאריא וכליתא לית מלכו דתזעזעיניה בריכך יהון בריכין וליטיך יהון ליטין:
ynwkh yshry bthqwp karya wklytha lyth mlkw dthzezeynyh brykk yhwn brykyn wlyTyk yhwn lyTyn
He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”

ותקף רוגזא דבלק בבלעם ושקפנון לידוהי ואמר בלק לבלעם למילט סנאי קריתך והא ברכא מברכת להון דנן תלת זמנין:
wthqp rwgza dblq bblem wshqpnwn lydwhy wamr blq lblem lmylT snay qrythk wha brka mbrkth lhwn dnn thlth zmnyn
Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.

וכען אזיל לך לאתרך אמרית יקרא איקרנך והא מנעך יי מן יקר:
wken azyl lk lathrk amryth yqra ayqrnk wha mnek yy mn yqr
Therefore, flee to your place, now! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.”

ואמר בלעם לבלק הלא אף לאזגדיך די שלחת לותי מללית למימר:
wamr blem lblq hla ap lazgdyk dy shlkhth lwthy mllyth lmymr
Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,

אם יתן לי בלק מלי ביתיה כסף ודהב לית לי רשו למעבר על גזרת מימרא דיי למעבד טבתא או בישתא מרעותי דימלל יי יתיה אמלל:
am ythn ly blq mly bythyh ksp wdhb lyth ly rshw lmebr el gzrth mymra dyy lmebd Tbtha aw byshtha mrewthy dymll yy ythyh amll
‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond Yahweh’s word, to do either good or bad from my own mind. I will say what Yahweh says’?

וכען הא אנא אזל לעמי איתא אמלכינך מא דתעבד ואחוי לך מא דיעבד עמא הדין לעמך בסוף יומיא:
wken ha ana azl lemy aytha amlkynk ma dthebd wakhwy lk ma dyebd ema hdyn lemk bswp ywmya
Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”

ונטל מתליה ואמר אמר בלעם בריה בעור ואמר גברא דשפיר חזי:
wnTl mthlyh wamr amr blem bryh bewr wamr gbra dshpyr khzy
He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;
16
אמר דשמע מימר מן קדם אל וידע מדע מן קדם עלאה חזו מן קדם שדי חזי שכיב ומתגלי ליה:
amr dshme mymr mn qdm al wyde mde mn qdm elah khzw mn qdm shdy khzy shkyb wmthgly lyh
he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

חזיתיה ולא כען סכיתיה ולא איתוהי קריב כד יקום מלכא מיעקב ויתרבא משיחא מישראל ויקטול רברבי מואב וישלוט בכל בני אנשא:
khzythyh wla ken skythyh wla aythwhy qryb kd yqwm mlka myeqb wythrba mshykha myshral wyqTwl rbrby mwab wyshlwT bkl bny ansha
I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.

ויהי אדום ירתא ויהי ירתא שעיר לבעלי דבבוהי וישראל יצלח בנכסין:
wyhy adwm yrtha wyhy yrtha sheyr lbely dbbwhy wyshral ytslkh bnksyn
Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemy, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.

ויחות חד מדבית יעקב ויובד משזב מקרית עממיא:
wykhwth khd mdbyth yeqb wywbd mshzb mqryth emmya
Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”
20
וחזא ית עמלקאה ונטל מתליה ואמר ריש קרביא דישראל הוה עמלקאה וסופיה לעלמא ייבד:
wkhza yth emlqah wnTl mthlyh wamr rysh qrbya dyshral hwh emlqah wswpyh lelma yybd
He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.”

וחזא ית שלמאה ונטל מתליה ואמר תקיף בית מותבך ושוי בכרך תקיף מדורך:
wkhza yth shlmah wnTl mthlyh wamr thqyp byth mwthbk wshwy bkrk thqyp mdwrk
He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.

ארי אם יהי לשצאה שלמאה עד מא אתוראה ישבנך:
ary am yhy lshtsah shlmah ed ma athwrah yshbnk
Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”

ונטל מתליה ואמר וי לחיביא דיחון כד יעבד אלהא ית אלין:
wnTl mthlyh wamr wy lkhybya dykhwn kd yebd alha yth alyn
He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
24
וסיען יצטרחן מרומאי ויענון לאתור וישתעבדון לעבר פרת ואף אנון לעלמא ייבדון:
wsyen ytsTrkhn mrwmay wyenwn lathwr wyshthebdwn lebr prth wap anwn lelma yybdwn
But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”

וקם בלעם ואזל ותב לאתריה ואף בלק אזל לארחיה:
wqm blem wazl wthb lathryh wap blq azl larkhyh
Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
