ואתו בני ישראל כל כנשתא למדברא דצין בירחא קדמאה ויתב עמא ברקם ומיתת תמן מרים ואתקברת תמן:
wathw bny yshral kl knshtha lmdbra dtsyn byrkha qdmah wythb ema brqm wmythth thmn mrym wathqbrth thmn
The children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month. The people stayed in Kadesh. Miriam died there, and was buried there.

ולא הוה מיא לכנשתא ואתכנשו על משה ועל אהרן:
wla hwh mya lknshtha wathknshw el mshh wel ahrn
There was no water for the congregation; and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

ונצא עמא עם משה ואמרו למימר ולוי דמתנא במותא דאחנא קדם יי:
wntsa ema em mshh wamrw lmymr wlwy dmthna bmwtha dakhna qdm yy
The people quarreled with Moses, and spoke, saying, “We wish that we had died when our brothers died before Yahweh!

ולמא אעלתון ית קהלא דיי למדברא הדין לממת תמן אנחנא ובעירנא:
wlma aelthwn yth qhla dyy lmdbra hdyn lmmth thmn ankhna wbeyrna
Why have you brought Yahweh’s assembly into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our animals?

ולמא אסקתונא ממצרים לאיתאה יתנא לאתרא בישא הדין לא אתר כשר לבית זרע ואף לא תינין וגופנין ורמונין ומיא לית למשתי:
wlma asqthwna mmtsrym laythah ythna lathra bysha hdyn la athr kshr lbyth zre wap la thynyn wgwpnyn wrmwnyn wmya lyth lmshthy
Why have you made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in to this evil place? It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.”

ועל משה ואהרן מן קדם קהלא לתרע משכן זמנא ונפלו על אפיהון ואתגלי יקרא דיי להון:
wel mshh wahrn mn qdm qhla lthre mshkn zmna wnplw el apyhwn wathgly yqra dyy lhwn
Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and fell on their faces. Yahweh’s glory appeared to them.

סב ית חוטרא ואכנש ית כנשתא את ואהרן אחוך ותמללון עם כיפא לעיניהון ויתן מוהי ותפק להון מיא מן כיפא ותשקי ית כנשתא וית בעירהון:
sb yth khwTra waknsh yth knshtha ath wahrn akhwk wthmllwn em kypa leynyhwn wythn mwhy wthpq lhwn mya mn kypa wthshqy yth knshtha wyth beyrhwn
“Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it pour out its water. You shall bring water to them out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink.”

ונסיב משה ית חוטרא מן קדם יי כמא די פקדיה:
wnsyb mshh yth khwTra mn qdm yy kma dy pqdyh
Moses took the rod from before Yahweh, as he commanded him.

ואכנישו משה ואהרן ית קהלא לקדם כיפא ואמר להון שמעו כען סרבניא המן כיפא הדין נפק לכון מיא:
waknyshw mshh wahrn yth qhla lqdm kypa wamr lhwn shmew ken srbnya hmn kypa hdyn npq lkwn mya
Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Shall we bring water out of this rock for you?”

וארם משה ית ידיה ומחא ית כיפא בחוטריה תרתין זמנין ונפקו מיא סגיאי ושתיאת כנשתא ובעירהון:
warm mshh yth ydyh wmkha yth kypa bkhwTryh thrthyn zmnyn wnpqw mya sgyay wshthyath knshtha wbeyrhwn
Moses lifted up his hand, and struck the rock with his rod twice, and water came out abundantly. The congregation and their livestock drank.

ואמר יי למשה ולאהרן חלף די לא המנתון במימרי לקדשותי לעיני בני ישראל בכן לא תעלון ית קהלא הדין לארעא די יהבית להון:
wamr yy lmshh wlahrn khlp dy la hmnthwn bmymry lqdshwthy leyny bny yshral bkn la thelwn yth qhla hdyn larea dy yhbyth lhwn
Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you didn’t believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

אנון מי מצותא די נצו בני ישראל קדם יי ואתקדש בהון:
anwn my mtswtha dy ntsw bny yshral qdm yy wathqdsh bhwn
These are the waters of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with Yahweh, and he was sanctified in them.

ושלח משה אזגדין מרקם לות מלכא דאדום כדנן אמר אחוך ישראל את ידעת ית כל עקתא די אשכחתנא:
wshlkh mshh azgdyn mrqm lwth mlka dadwm kdnn amr akhwk yshral ath ydeth yth kl eqtha dy ashkkhthna
Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying: “Your brother Israel says: You know all the travail that has happened to us;

ונחתו אבהתנא למצרים ויתבנא במצרים יומין סגיאין ואבאישו לנא מצראי ולאבהתנא:
wnkhthw abhthna lmtsrym wythbna bmtsrym ywmyn sgyayn wabayshw lna mtsray wlabhthna
how our fathers went down into Egypt, and we lived in Egypt a long time. The Egyptians mistreated us and our fathers.

וצלינא קדם יי וקביל צלותנא ושלח מלאכא ואפקנא ממצרים והא אנחנא ברקם קרתא דבסטר תחומך:
wtslyna qdm yy wqbyl tslwthna wshlkh mlaka wapqna mmtsrym wha ankhna brqm qrtha dbsTr thkhwmk
When we cried to Yahweh, he heard our voice, sent an angel, and brought us out of Egypt. Behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the edge of your border.

נעבר כען בארעך לא נעבר בחקל ובכרם ולא נשתי מי גוב בארח מלכא נזל לא נסטי לימינא ולשמאלא עד דנעבר תחומך:
nebr ken barek la nebr bkhql wbkrm wla nshthy my gwb barkh mlka nzl la nsTy lymyna wlshmala ed dnebr thkhwmk
“Please let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or through vineyard, neither will we drink from the water of the wells. We will go along the king’s highway. We will not turn away to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your border.”

ואמר ליה אדומאה לא תעבר בתחומי דילמא בדקטלין בחרבא אפוק לקדמותך:
wamr lyh adwmah la thebr bthkhwmy dylma bdqTlyn bkhrba apwq lqdmwthk
Edom said to him, “You shall not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against you.”

ואמרו ליה בני ישראל בארח כבישא נסק ואם מימך נשתי אנא ובעירי ואתן דמיהון לחוד לית פתגם דביש ברגלי אעבר:
wamrw lyh bny yshral barkh kbysha nsq wam mymk nshthy ana wbeyry wathn dmyhwn lkhwd lyth pthgm dbysh brgly aebr
The children of Israel said to him, “We will go up by the highway; and if we drink your water, I and my livestock, then I will give its price. Only let me, without doing anything else, pass through on my feet.”

ואמר לא תעבר ונפק אדומאה לקדמותיה בחיל רב ובידא תקיפא:
wamr la thebr wnpq adwmah lqdmwthyh bkhyl rb wbyda thqypa
He said, “You shall not pass through.” Edom came out against him with many people, and with a strong hand.
21
וסריב אדומאה למשבק ית ישראל למעבר בתחומיה וסטא ישראל מלותיה:
wsryb adwmah lmshbq yth yshral lmebr bthkhwmyh wsTa yshral mlwthyh
Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border, so Israel turned away from him.

ונטלו מרקם ואתו בני ישראל כל כנשתא להר טורא:
wnTlw mrqm wathw bny yshral kl knshtha lhr Twra
They traveled from Kadesh, and the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor.
23
ואמר יי למשה ולאהרן בהר טורא על תחום ארעא דאדום למימר:
wamr yy lmshh wlahrn bhr Twra el thkhwm area dadwm lmymr
Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying,

יתכנש אהרן לעמיה ארי לא ייעול לארעא די יהבית לבני ישראל על די סריבתון על מימרי למי מצותא:
ythknsh ahrn lemyh ary la yyewl larea dy yhbyth lbny yshral el dy srybthwn el mymry lmy mtswtha
“Aaron shall be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

דבר ית אהרן וית אלעזר בריה ואסיק יתהון להר טורא:
dbr yth ahrn wyth alezr bryh wasyq ythhwn lhr Twra
Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor;
26
ואשלח ית אהרן ית לבושוהי ותלבשנון ית אלעזר בריה ואהרן יתכנש וימות תמן:
washlkh yth ahrn yth lbwshwhy wthlbshnwn yth alezr bryh wahrn ythknsh wymwth thmn
and strip Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son. Aaron shall be gathered, and shall die there.”
27
ועבד משה כמא די פקיד יי וסליקו להר טורא לעיני כל כנשתא:
webd mshh kma dy pqyd yy wslyqw lhr Twra leyny kl knshtha
Moses did as Yahweh commanded. They went up onto Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
28
ואשלח משה ית אהרן ית לבושוהי ואלביש יתהון ית אלעזר בריה ומית אהרן תמן בריש טורא ונחת משה ואלעזר מן טורא:
washlkh mshh yth ahrn yth lbwshwhy walbysh ythhwn yth alezr bryh wmyth ahrn thmn brysh Twra wnkhth mshh walezr mn Twra
Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son. Aaron died there on the top of the mountain, and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.
29
וחזו כל כנשתא ארי מית אהרן ובכו ית אהרן תלתין יומין כל בית ישראל:
wkhzw kl knshtha ary myth ahrn wbkw yth ahrn thlthyn ywmyn kl byth yshral
When all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they wept for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
