שלח לך גברין ויאללון ית ארעא דכנען די אנא יהב לבני ישראל גברא חד גברא חד לשבטא דאבהתוהי תשלחון כל רבא דבהון:
dbhwn rba kl thshlkhwn dabhthwhy lshbTa khd gbra khd gbra yshral lbny yhb ana dy dknen area yth wyallwn gbryn lk shlkh
“Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”

ושלח יתהון משה ממדברא דפארן על מימרא דיי כלהון גברין רישי בני ישראל אנון:
anwn yshral bny ryshy gbryn klhwn dyy mymra el dparn mmdbra mshh ythhwn wshlkh
Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Yahweh. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.

ואלין שמהתהון לשבטא דראובן שמוע בר זכור:
zkwr br shmwe drawbn lshbTa shmhthhwn walyn
These were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.

לשבטא דשמעון שפט בר חורי:
khwry br shpT dshmewn lshbTa
Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.

לשבטא דיהודה כלב בר יפנה:
ypnh br klb dyhwdh lshbTa
Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

לשבטא דיששכר יגאל בר יוסף:
ywsp br ygal dyshshkr lshbTa
Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.

לשבטא דאפרים הושע בר נון:
nwn br hwshe daprym lshbTa
Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.

לשבטא דבנימן פלטי בר רפוא:
rpwa br plTy dbnymn lshbTa
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.

לשבטא דזבולן גדיאל בר סודי:
swdy br gdyal dzbwln lshbTa
Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.

לשבטא דיוסף לשבטא דמנשה גדי בר סוסי:
swsy br gdy dmnshh lshbTa dywsp lshbTa
Of the tribe of Joseph, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.

לשבטא דדן עמיאל בר גמלי:
gmly br emyal ddn lshbTa
Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.

לשבטא דאשר סתור בר מיכאל:
mykal br sthwr dashr lshbTa
Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.

לשבטא דנפתלי נחבי בר ופסי:
wpsy br nkhby dnpthly lshbTa
Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.

אלין שמהת גבריא די שלח משה לאללא ית ארעא וקרא משה להושע בר נון יהושע:
yhwshe nwn br lhwshe mshh wqra area yth lalla mshh shlkh dy gbrya shmhth alyn
These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

ושלח יתהון משה לאללא ית ארעא דכנען ואמר להון סקו דא בדרומא ותסקון לטורא:
lTwra wthsqwn bdrwma da sqw lhwn wamr dknen area yth lalla mshh ythhwn wshlkh
Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.

ותחזון ית ארעא מא היא וית עמא דיתב עלה התקיף הוא אם חלש הזער הוא אם סגי:
sgy am hwa hzer khlsh am hwa hthqyp elh dythb ema wyth hya ma area yth wthkhzwn
See the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;

ומא ארעא די הוא יתב בה הטבא היא אם בישא ומא קרויא די הוא יתב בהון הבפצחין אם בכרכין:
bkrkyn am hbptskhyn bhwn ythb hwa dy qrwya wma bysha am hya hTba bh ythb hwa dy area wma
and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;

ומא ארעא העתירא היא אם מסכנא האית בה אילנין אם לא ותתקפון ותסבון מאבא דארעא ויומיא יומי בכורי ענבין:
enbyn bkwry ywmy wywmya darea maba wthsbwn wththqpwn la am aylnyn bh hayth mskna am hya hethyra area wma
and what the land is, whether it is fertile or poor, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.

וסליקו ואלילו ית ארעא ממדברא דצין עד רחוב למטי חמת:
khmth lmTy rkhwb ed dtsyn mmdbra area yth walylw wslyqw
So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.

וסליקו בדרומא ואתא עד חברון ותמן אחימן ששי ותלמי בני גבריא וחברון שבע שנין אתבניאת קדם טנס דמצרים:
dmtsrym Tns qdm athbnyath shnyn shbe wkhbrwn gbrya bny wthlmy shshy akhymn wthmn khbrwn ed watha bdrwma wslyqw
They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

ואתו עד נחלא דאתכלא וקצו מתמן עוברתא ואתכל ענבין חד ונטלוהי באריחא בתרין ומן רמוניא ומן תאניא:
thanya wmn rmwnya wmn bthryn barykha wnTlwhy khd enbyn wathkl ewbrtha mthmn wqtsw dathkla nkhla ed wathw
They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.

לאתרא ההוא קרא נחלא דאתכלא על עסק אתכלא דקצו מתמן בני ישראל:
yshral bny mthmn dqtsw athkla esq el dathkla nkhla qra hhwa lathra
That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there.

ותבו מלאללא ית ארעא מסוף ארבעין יומין:
ywmyn arbeyn mswp area yth mlalla wthbw
They returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.

ואזלו ואתו לות משה ולות אהרן ולות כל כנשתא דבני ישראל למדברא דפארן לרקם ואתיבו יתהון פתגמא וית כל כנשתא ואחזיאנון ית אבא דארעא:
darea aba yth wakhzyanwn knshtha kl wyth pthgma ythhwn wathybw lrqm dparn lmdbra yshral dbny knshtha kl wlwth ahrn wlwth mshh lwth wathw wazlw
They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.

ואשתעיאו ליה ואמרו אתינא לארעא די שלחתנא ואף עבדא חלב ודבש היא ודין אבה:
abh wdyn hya wdbsh khlb ebda wap shlkhthna dy larea athyna wamrw lyh washtheyaw
They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

לחוד ארי תקיף עמא דיתב בארעא וקרויא כריכן רברבן לחדא ואף בני גבריא חזינא תמן:
thmn khzyna gbrya bny wap lkhda rbrbn krykn wqrwya barea dythb ema thqyp ary lkhwd
However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.

עמלקאה יתב בארע דרומא וחתאה ויבוסאה ואמוראה יתב בטורא וכנענאה יתב על ימא ועל כיף ירדנא:
yrdna kyp wel yma el ythb wknenah bTwra ythb wamwrah wybwsah wkhthah drwma bare ythb emlqah
Amalek dwells in the land of the South. The Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country. The Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along the side of the Jordan.”

ואצית כלב ית עמא למשה ואמר מיסק ניסק ונירת יתה ארי מיכל ניכול לה:
lh nykwl mykl ary ythh wnyrth nysq mysq wamr lmshh ema yth klb watsyth
Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let’s go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!”

וגבריא די סליקו עמיה אמרו לא ניכול למיסק לות עמא ארי תקיף הוא מננא:
mnna hwa thqyp ary ema lwth lmysq nykwl la amrw emyh slyqw dy wgbrya
But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

ואפיקו שום ביש על ארעא די אלילו יתה לות בני ישראל למימר ארעא די עברנא בה לאללא יתה ארעא מקטלת יתבהא היא וכל עמא די חזינא בגוה אנשין דמשחן:
dmshkhn anshyn bgwh khzyna dy ema wkl hya ythbha mqTlth area ythh lalla bh ebrna dy area lmymr yshral bny lwth ythh alylw dy area el bysh shwm wapyqw
They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.

ותמן חזינא ית גבריא בני ענק מן גבריא והוינא בעיני נפשנא כקמצין וכן הוינא בעיניהון:
beynyhwn hwyna wkn kqmtsyn npshna beyny whwyna gbrya mn enq bny gbrya yth khzyna wthmn
There we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim. We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
