ומליל יי עם משה במדברא דסיני במשכן זמנא בחד לירחא תנינא בשתא תניתא למפקהון מארעא דמצרים למימר:

Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

קבילו ית חשבן כל כנשתא דבני ישראל לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן כל דכורא לגלגלתהון:
lglglthhwn dkwra kl shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn yshral dbny knshtha kl khshbn yth qbylw
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,

מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא בישראל תמנון יתהון לחיליהון את ואהרן:
wahrn ath lkhylyhwn ythhwn thmnwn byshral khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr
from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions.

ועמכון יהון גברא גברא לשבטא גבר ריש לבית אבהתוהי הוא:
hwa abhthwhy lbyth rysh gbr lshbTa gbra gbra yhwn wemkwn
With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house.

ואלין שמהת גבריא די יקומון עמכון לראובן אליצור בר שדיאור:
shdyawr br alytswr lrawbn emkwn yqwmwn dy gbrya shmhth walyn
These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

לשמעון שלמיאל בר צורישדי:
tswryshdy br shlmyal lshmewn
Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

לבני יוסף לאפרים אלישמע בר עמיהוד למנשה גמליאל בר פדהצור:
pdhtswr br gmlyal lmnshh emyhwd br alyshme laprym ywsp lbny
Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

אלין מערעי כנשתא רברבי שבטי אבהתהון רישי אלפיא דישראל אנון:
anwn dyshral alpya ryshy abhthhwn shbTy rbrby knshtha merey alyn
These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

ונסב משה ואהרן ית גבריא האלין די אתפרשו בשמהן:
bshmhn athprshw dy halyn gbrya yth wahrn mshh wnsb
Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.
18
וית כל כנשתא אכנשו בחד לירחא תנינא ואתיחסו על זרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא לגלגלתהון:
lglglthhwn wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth zreythhwn el wathykhsw thnyna lyrkha bkhd aknshw knshtha kl wyth
They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.

כמא די פקיד יי ית משה ומננון במדברא דסיני:
dsyny bmdbra wmnnwn mshh yth yy pqyd dy kma
As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.

והוו בני ראובן בוכרא דישראל תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן לגלגלתהון כל דכורא מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr dkwra kl lglglthhwn shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn dyshral bwkra rawbn bny whww
The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דראובן ארבעין ושתא אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn wshtha arbeyn drawbn lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

לבני שמעון תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון מנינוהי במנין שמהן לגלגלתהון כל דכורא מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr dkwra kl lglglthhwn shmhn bmnyn mnynwhy abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn shmewn lbny
Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were counted of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דשמעון חמשין ותשעה אלפין ותלת מאה:
mah wthlth alpyn wthsheh khmshyn dshmewn lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

לבני גד תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn gd lbny
Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דגד ארבעין וחמשא אלפין ושית מאה וחמשין
wkhmshyn mah wshyth alpyn wkhmsha arbeyn dgd lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

לבני יהודה תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn yhwdh lbny
Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דיהודה שבעין וארבעא אלפין ושית מאה:
mah wshyth alpyn warbea shbeyn dyhwdh lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

לבני יששכר תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn yshshkr lbny
Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דיששכר חמשין וארבעא אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn warbea khmshyn dyshshkr lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

לבני זבולן תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn zbwln lbny
Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דזבולן חמשין ושבע אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn wshbe khmshyn dzbwln lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32
לבני יוסף לבני אפרים תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn aprym lbny ywsp lbny
Of the children of Joseph: of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דאפרים ארבעין אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn arbeyn daprym lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand five hundred.

לבני מנשה תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn mnshh lbny
Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דמנשה תלתין ותרין אלפין ומאתן:
wmathn alpyn wthryn thlthyn dmnshh lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36
לבני בנימן תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn bnymn lbny
Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דבנימן תלתין וחמשא אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn wkhmsha thlthyn dbnymn lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

לבני דן תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn dn lbny
Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דדן שתין ותרין אלפין ושבע מאה:
mah wshbe alpyn wthryn shthyn ddn lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40
לבני אשר תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn ashr lbny
Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דאשר ארבעין וחד אלפין וחמש מאה:
mah wkhmsh alpyn wkhd arbeyn dashr lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred.
42
בני נפתלי תולדתהון לזרעיתהון לבית אבהתהון במנין שמהן מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא:
khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr shmhn bmnyn abhthhwn lbyth lzreythhwn thwldthhwn npthly bny
Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

מניניהון לשבטא דנפתלי חמשין ותלת אלפין וארבע מאה:
mah warbe alpyn wthlth khmshyn dnpthly lshbTa mnynyhwn
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44
אלין מניניא די מנא משה ואהרן ורברבי ישראל תרין עשר גברין גברא חד לבית אבהתוהי הוו:
hww abhthwhy lbyth khd gbra gbryn eshr thryn yshral wrbrby wahrn mshh mna dy mnynya alyn
These are those who were counted, whom Moses and Aaron counted, and the twelve men who were princes of Israel, each one for his fathers’ house.
45
והוו כל מניני בני ישראל לבית אבהתהון מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא כל נפק חילא בישראל:
byshral khyla npq kl wlela shnyn eshryn mbr abhthhwn lbyth yshral bny mnyny kl whww
So all those who were counted of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel—
46
והוו כל מניניא שית מאה ותלתא אלפין וחמש מאה וחמשין:
wkhmshyn mah wkhmsh alpyn wthltha mah shyth mnynya kl whww
all those who were counted were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.
47
ולואי לשבטא דאבהתהון לא אתמניאו ביניהון:
bynyhwn athmnyaw la dabhthhwn lshbTa wlway
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not counted among them.
49
ברם ית שבטא דלוי לא תמני וית חשבנהון לא תקבל בגו בני ישראל:
yshral bny bgw thqbl la khshbnhwn wyth thmny la dlwy shbTa yth brm
“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;

ואת מני ית לואי על משכנא דסהדותא ועל כל מנוהי ועל כל די ליה אנון יטלון ית משכנא וית כל מנוהי ואנון ישמשניה וסחור סחור למשכנא ישרון:
yshrwn lmshkna skhwr wskhwr yshmshnyh wanwn mnwhy kl wyth mshkna yth yTlwn anwn lyh dy kl wel mnwhy kl wel dshdwtha mshkna el lway yth mny wath
but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.

ובמטל משכנא יפרקון יתיה לואי ובמשרי משכנא יקימון יתיה לואי וחלוני דיקרב יתקטל:
ythqTl dyqrb wkhlwny lway ythyh yqymwn mshkna wbmshry lway ythyh yprqwn mshkna wbmTl
When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

וישרון בני ישראל גבר על משרוהי וגבר על טקסיה לחיליהון:
lkhylyhwn Tqsyh el wgbr mshrwhy el gbr yshral bny wyshrwn
The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.

ולואי ישרון סחור סחור למשכנא דסהדותא ולא יהי רוגזא על כנשתא דבני ישראל ויטרון לואי ית מטרת משכנא דסהדותא:
dshdwtha mshkna mTrth yth lway wyTrwn yshral dbny knshtha el rwgza yhy wla dshdwtha lmshkna skhwr skhwr yshrwn wlway
But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”
