ܗܐ ܥܠ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܪ̈ܓܠܘܗܝ ܕܡܣܒܪܢܐ ܘܕܡܫܡܥ ܫܠܡܐ ܥܒܕ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܥ̈ܐܕܝܟ ܘܫܠܡ ܢܕܪ̈ܝܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܣܦ ܬܘܒ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܒܟ ܥܘܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗ ܐܒܕ

He who dashes in pieces has come up against you. Keep the fortress! Watch the way! Strengthen your waist! Fortify your power mightily!

ܣܠܩ ܡܕܒܪܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܢܛܪ ܡܛܪܬܐ ܘܚܐܪ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܐܚܕ ܒܚܨܐ ܘܛܒ ܚܣܝܢ ܚܝܠܗ

For Yahweh restores the excellency of Jacob as the excellency of Israel, for the destroyers have destroyed them and ruined their vine branches.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܦܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ ܐܝܟ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܫܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܝܘܫ̈ܐ ܘܚܒܠܘ ܫܒ̈ܘܩܝܗܘܢ

The shield of his mighty men is made red. The valiant men are in scarlet. The chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the pine spears are brandished.

ܣܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܓܢܒܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܡܣܡ̈ܩܢ ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܡܫܬܥܝܢ ܒܠܡܦܐ̈ܕܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܘܒܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܡܬܛܝܒܝܢ ܘܦܪ̈ܫܐ ܡܬܒܠܗܝܢ

The chariots rage in the streets. They rush back and forth in the wide ways. Their appearance is like torches. They run like the lightnings.

ܘܒܫܡܐ ܡܫܬܒܚܝܢ ܒܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܗܘܢ ܘܡܫܬܒܗܪܝܢ ܘܚܙܘܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܠܡܦܐ̈ܕܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܒܪ̈ܩܐ ܪܗܛܝܢ

He summons his picked troops. They stumble on their way. They dash to its wall, and the protective shield is put in place.

ܢܐܚܕܘܢ ܠܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܩܠܘܢ ܒܗ̈ܠܟܬܗܘܢ ܘܢܣܬܪܗܒܘܢ ܠܫܘܪܐ ܘܢܛܝܒܘܢ ܥܥܝ̈ܬܐ
eeyth' wnTybwn lshwr' wnsthrhbwn bhlkthhwn wnththqlwn lshlyTnyhwn n'khdwn
The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.

ܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܬܦܬܚܘ ܘܗܝܟܠܐ ܙܥ
ze whykl' 'thpthkhw dyhwd' thre'
It is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her servants moan as with the voice of doves, beating on their breasts.

ܘܐܩܝܡܬ ܦܪ̈ܫܝܗ̇ ܘܣܠܩܬ ܘܐܡ̈ܗܬܗ̇ ܡܢܗ̈ܡܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܒܠܒܝ̈ܗܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܝܘ̈ܢܐ
ywn' 'yk blbyhyn hwy mnhmn w'mhthh wslqth prshyh w'qymth
But Nineveh has been from of old like a pool of water, yet they flee away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one looks back.

ܘܢܝܢܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܝܡܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܗܝ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܥܪܩܝܢ ܐܩܝܡܘ ܐܩܝܡܘ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܬܦܢܐ
dmthpn' wlyth 'qymw 'qymw erqyn whnwn hy my' wbyth dmy' hy ymth' 'yk wnynw'
Take the plunder of silver. Take the plunder of gold, for there is no end of treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.

ܒܙܘ ܣܐܡܐ ܘܒܙܘ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܣܟܐ ܠܨܒܬܗ̇ ܥܫܝܢ̈ܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܪܓܬܗ̇
drgthh m'n' klhwn eshynyn ltsbthh sk' wlyth dhb' wbzw s'm' bzw
She is empty, void, and waste. The heart melts, the knees knock together, their bodies and faces have grown pale.

ܕܝܫܬܐ ܘܣܚܝܦܬܐ ܘܡܬܪܥܬܐ ܘܠܒܐ ܬܒܝܪܐ ܘܦܘܪܩ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܐ ܘܪܥܠܐ ܒܟܠ ܚܨ̈ܝܢ ܘܐ̈ܦܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܟܘܡ ܐܝܟ ܫܘܚܪ̈ܐ ܕܩܕܪܐ
dqdr' shwkhr' 'yk 'kwm klhwn w'py khtsyn bkl wrel' bwrk' wpwrq thbyr' wlb' wmthreth' wskhypth' dyshth'
Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked with the lion’s cubs, and no one made them afraid?

ܐܝܟܐ ܗܝ ܡܪܒܘܥܝܬܗ̇ ܕܐܪܝܘܬܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܪܥܝܐ ܕܓܘܪܝܐ ܕܐܪܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܪܝܐ ܠܡܥܠ ܠܬܡܢ ܘܓܘܪܝܐ ܕܐܪܝܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܗܪ
dmhr wlyth d'ry' wgwry' lthmn lmel 'ry' d'zl d'rywth' dgwry' rey' wbyth d'rywth' mrbweythh hy 'yk'
The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs, and strangled prey for his lionesses, and filled his caves with the kill and his dens with prey.

ܐܪܝܐ ܬܒܪ ܡܣܬ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܕܓܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܦܣܩ ܐܦ ܠܬܢܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܘܡܠܐ ܢܩ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܘܡܪܒܘܥܝܬܗ ܬܒܪܐ
thbr' wmrbweythh nqewhy wml' lthnynwhy 'p wpsq dgrwhy m'kwlth' msth thbr 'ry'
“Behold, I am against you,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
