ܘܟܕ ܩܪܒ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܐܬܐ ܠܒܝܬ-ܦܓܐ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܛܘܪܐ ܕܙܝܬܐ ܫܕܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܬܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ
thlmydwhy mn thryn yshwe shdr dzyth' Twr' gnb el lbyth-pg' w'th' l'wrshlm qrb wkd
When they came near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܙܠܘ ܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܠܩܘܒܠܟܘܢ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܕܐܣܝܪܐ ܘܥܝܠܐ ܥܡܗ ܫܪܘ ܐܝܬܘ ܠܝ

saying to them,
“Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me.

ܘܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܕܠܡܪܢ ܡܬܒܥܝܢ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܟܐ
lk' lhwn mshdr wmkhd' mthbeyn dlmrn lh 'mrw mdm lkwn 'mr 'nsh w'n
If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܗܘܬ ܕܢܬܡܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܬܐܡܪ ܒܝܕ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܐܡܪ

All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

ܐܡܪܘ ܠܒܪܬ ܨܗܝܘܢ ܗܐ ܡܠܟܟܝ ܐܬܐ ܠܟܝ ܡܟܝܟ ܘܪܟܝܒ ܥܠ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܥܠ ܥܝܠܐ ܒܪ ܐܬܢܐ

“Tell the daughter of Zion,
behold, your King comes to you,
humble, and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

ܘܐܙܠܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܘܥܒܕܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ

The disciples went, and did just as Jesus commanded them,

ܘܐܝܬܝܘ ܠܚܡܪܐ ܘܠܥܝܠܐ ܘܣܡܘ ܥܠ ܥܝܠܐ ܢܚܬܝܗܘܢ ܘܪܟܒ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܝܫܘܥ
yshwe elwhy wrkb nkhthyhwn eyl' el wsmw wleyl' lkhmr' w'ythyw
and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.

ܘܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܟܢܫܐ ܡܫܘܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܐܢܝܗܘܢ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܦܣܩܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܣܘܟܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܘܪܡܝܢ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ

A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road.

ܟܢܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܙܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܬܝܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܩܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܘܫܥܢܐ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܘܫܥܢܐ ܒܡܪܘܡܐ
bmrwm' 'wshen' dmry' bshmh d'th' hw bryk ddwyd lbrh 'wshen' w'mryn hww qeyn bthrh w'thyn qdmwhy hww d'zlyn 'ylyn dyn knsh'
The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna
to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

ܘܟܕ ܥܠ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܐܬܬܙܝܥܬ ܟܠܗ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܘ ܗܢܐ

When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”

ܟܢܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܗܢܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܡܢ ܢܨܪܬ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ

The multitudes said, “This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

ܘܥܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܗܝܟܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܦܩ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܙܒܢܝܢ ܘܡܙܒܢܝܢ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܣܚܦ ܦܬܘܪܐ ܕܡܥܪܦܢܐ ܘܟܘܪܣܘܬܐ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܙܒܢܝܢ ܝܘܢܐ
ywn' dmzbnyn dhnwn wkwrswth' dmerpn' pthwr' wskhp bhykl' wmzbnyn dzbnyn lklhwn w'pq d'lh' lhykl' yshwe wel
Jesus entered into the temple of God, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܬܝܒ ܗܘ ܕܒܝܬܝ ܒܝܬ ܨܠܘܬܐ ܢܬܩܪܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܒܕܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܡܥܪܬܐ ܕܠܣܛܝܐ
dlsTy' merth' ebdthwnyhy dyn 'nthwn nthqr' tslwth' byth dbythy hw kthyb lhwn w'mr
He said to them,
“It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’
but you have made it a den of robbers!”

ܘܩܪܒܘ ܠܗ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܣܡܝܐ ܘܚܓܝܣܐ ܘܐܣܝ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn w'sy wkhgys' smy' bhykl' lh wqrbw
The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

ܟܕ ܚܙܘ ܕܝܢ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܦܪܝܫܐ ܬܕܡܪܬܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܘܛܠܝܐ ܕܩܥܝܢ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܘܫܥܢܐ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܐܬܒܐܫ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn 'thb'sh ddwyd lbrh 'wshen' w'mryn bhykl' dqeyn wTly' debd thdmrth' wprysh' khn' rby dyn khzw kd
But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the son of David!” they were indignant,

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܝܢ ܡܢ ܡܬܘܡ ܠܐ ܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܦܘܡܐ ܕܛܠܝܐ ܘܕܝܠܘܕܐ ܬܩܢܬ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ

and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?”
Jesus said to them,
“Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?’”

ܘܫܒܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܦܩ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܠܒܝܬ-ܥܢܝܐ ܘܒܬ ܬܡܢ

He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and camped there.

ܒܨܦܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܗܦܟ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܟܦܢ
kpn lmdynth' hpk kd dyn btspr'
Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.

ܘܚܙܐ ܬܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚ ܒܗ ܡܕܡ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܛܪܦܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܒܟܝ ܬܘܒ ܦܐܪܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܝܒܫܬ ܬܬܐ ܗܝ

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it,
“Let there be no fruit from you forever!”
Immediately the fig tree withered away.

ܘܚܙܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܘܬܗܪܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܝܒܫܬ ܬܬܐ

When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree immediately wither away?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܬܦܠܓܘܢ ܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܗܕܐ ܕܬܬܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܦܢ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܕܐܫܬܩܠ ܘܦܠ ܒܝܡܐ ܬܗܘܐ

Jesus answered them,
“Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith, and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.

ܘܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܬܫܐܠܘܢ ܒܨܠܘܬܐ ܘܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܬܣܒܘܢ

All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

ܘܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܗܝܟܠܐ ܩܪܒܘ ܠܗ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܩܫܝܫܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܟܕ ܡܠܦ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܒܐܝܢܐ ܫܘܠܛܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܬ ܘܡܢܘ ܝܗܒ ܠܟ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܗܢܐ

When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܫܐܠܟܘܢ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܘܐܢ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܝ ܘܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܝܢܐ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ
'n' ebd hlyn shwlTn' b'yn' lkwn 'n' 'mr 'n' w'p ly th'mrwn w'n khd' mlth' 'n' 'p 'sh'lkwn lhwn w'mr yshwe en'
Jesus answered them,
“I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

ܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܗ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܗܝ ܐܘ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܪܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܢ ܢܐܡܪ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܢ ܘܥܠ ܡܢܐ ܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܬܘܢܝܗܝ

The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?”
They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

ܘܕܢܐܡܪ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܕܚܠܝܢ ܐܢܚܢܢ ܡܢ ܟܢܫܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܟ ܢܒܝܐ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܠܝܘܚܢܢ
lywkhnn lh hww 'khydyn nby' 'yk gyr klhwn knsh' mn 'nkhnn dkhlyn bnynsh' mn wdn'mr
But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet.”

ܥܢܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܝܢܐ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ
'n' ebd hlyn shwlTn' b'yn' lkwn 'n' 'mr 'n' l' 'p yshwe lhwn 'mr ydeynn l' lh w'mryn enw
They answered Jesus, and said, “We don’t know.”
He also said to them,
“Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

ܡܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܒܢܝܐ ܬܪܝܢ ܘܩܪܒ ܠܘܬ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܒܪܝ ܙܠ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܦܠܘܚ ܒܟܪܡܐ
bkrm' plwkh ywmn' zl bry lh w'mr qdmy' lwth wqrb thryn bny' lh hww 'yth khd gbr' lkwn mthkhz' dyn mn'
But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܚܪܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܬܬܘܝ ܘܐܙܠ
w'zl 'ththwy dyn bkhrth' 'n' tsb' l' w'mr en' dyn hw
He answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went.

ܘܩܪܒ ܠܘܬ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܗܟܘܬ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܙܠ
'zl wl' mry 'n' w'mr en' dyn hw hkwth lh w'mr 'khrn' lwth wqrb
He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I’ m going, sir,’ but he didn’t go.

ܡܢܘ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܬܪܝܗܘܢ ܥܒܕ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܗܘ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܟܣܐ ܘܙܢܝܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Which of the two did the will of his father?”
They said to him, “The first.”
Jesus said to them,
“Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.

ܐܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܡܟܣܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܙܢܝܬܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܗܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܟܕ ܚܙܝܬܘܢ ܐܬܬܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܪܬܐ ܕܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܒܗ
bh dthhymnwn bkhrth' 'ththwythwn khzythwn kd l' 'p dyn 'nthwn hymnwhy wznyth' dyn mks' hymnthwnyhy wl' dk'nwth' b'wrkh' ywkhnn lwthkwn gyr 'th'
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

ܫܡܥܘ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܡܬܠܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܡܪܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܘܢܨܒ ܟܪܡܐ ܘܐܚܕܪܗ ܣܝܓܐ ܘܚܦܪ ܒܗ ܡܥܨܪܬܐ ܘܒܢܐ ܒܗ ܡܓܕܠܐ ܘܐܘܚܕܗ ܠܦܠܚܐ ܘܚܙܩ

“Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a wine press in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.

ܟܕ ܕܝܢ ܡܛܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܦܐܪܐ ܫܕܪ ܠܥܒܕܘܗܝ ܠܘܬ ܦܠܚܐ ܕܢܫܕܪܘܢ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܦܐܪܐ ܕܟܪܡܗ

When the season for the fruit came near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruit.

ܘܐܚܕܘ ܦܠܚܐ ܠܥܒܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܡܚܐܘܗܝ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܪܓܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܩܛܠܘܗܝ

The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.

ܘܬܘܒ ܫܕܪ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܣܓܝܐܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܘܗܟܘܬ ܥܒܕܘ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn ebdw whkwth qdmy' mn dsgy'yn ebd' 'khrn' shdr wthwb
Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them the same way.

ܐܚܪܝܬ ܕܝܢ ܫܕܪ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܠܒܪܗ ܟܕ ܐܡܪ ܟܒܪ ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܪܝ
bry mn nbhthwn kbr 'mr kd lbrh lwthhwn shdr dyn 'khryth
But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

ܦܠܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܠܒܪܐ ܐܡܪܘ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܗܢܘ ܝܪܬܐ ܬܘ ܢܩܛܠܝܘܗܝ ܘܢܐܚܘܕ ܝܪܬܘܬܗ
yrthwthh wn'khwd nqTlywhy thw yrth' hnw bynthhwn 'mrw lbr' khz'why kd dyn plkh'
But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and seize his inheritance.’

ܘܐܚܕܘ ܐܦܩܘܗܝ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܟܪܡܐ ܘܩܛܠܘܗܝ

So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

ܡܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܡܪܗ ܕܟܪܡܐ ܡܢܐ ܢܥܒܕ ܠܦܠܚܐ ܗܢܘܢ

When therefore the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܕܒܝܫ ܒܝܫ ܢܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܟܪܡܐ ܢܘܚܕ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܦܠܚܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܗܒܝܢ ܠܗ ܦܐܪܐ ܒܙܒܢܗܘܢ
bzbnhwn p'r' lh dyhbyn 'ylyn plkh' l'khrn' nwkhd wkrm' 'nwn nwbd bysh dbysh lh 'mryn
They told him, “He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruit in its season.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܒܟܬܒܐ ܕܟܐܦܐ ܕܐܣܠܝܘ ܒܢܝܐ ܗܝ ܗܘܬ ܠܪܫܐ ܕܙܘܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܗܕܐ ܘܐܝܬܝܗ ܬܕܡܘܪܬܐ ܒܥܝܢܝܢ

Jesus said to them,
“Did you never read in the Scriptures,
‘The stone which the builders rejected,
the same was made the head of the corner.
This was from the Lord.
It is marvelous in our eyes?’

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܫܬܩܠ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܬܬܝܗܒ ܠܥܡܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܦܐܪܐ

“Therefore I tell you, God’s Kingdom will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.

ܘܡܢ ܕܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܟܐܦܐ ܗܕܐ ܢܬܪܥܥ ܘܟܠ ܡܢ ܕܗܝ ܬܦܠ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܬܕܪܝܘܗܝ

He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust.”

ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܦܪܝܫܐ ܡܬܠܘܗܝ ܝܕܥܘ ܕܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܡܪ

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke about them.
