ܘܒܬܪ ܫܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܕܒܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܘܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܐܣܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܪܡܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܝܗܘܢ

After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.

ܘܐܫܬܚܠܦ ܝܫܘܥ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ ܘܢܗܪ ܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܐܝܟ ܫܡܫܐ ܢܚܬܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܚܘܪܘ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܗܪܐ

He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.

ܘܐܬܚܙܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܘܐܠܝܐ ܟܕ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܥܡܗ

Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.

ܥܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܡܪܝ ܫܦܝܪ ܗܘ ܠܢ ܕܬܢܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܘܐܢ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܬ ܢܥܒܕ ܬܢܢ ܬܠܬ ܡܛܠܝܢ ܚܕܐ ܠܟ ܘܚܕܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܠܐܠܝܐ

Peter answered, and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

ܘܥܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܗܐ ܥܢܢܐ ܢܗܝܪܬܐ ܐܛܠܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܩܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܥܢܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܢܘ ܒܪܝ ܚܒܝܒܐ ܕܒܗ ܐܨܛܒܝܬ ܠܗ ܫܡܥܘ

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܢܦܠܘ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܗܘܢ ܘܕܚܠܘ ܛܒ

When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.

ܘܐܬܩܪܒ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܩܪܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܩܘܡܘ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ

Jesus came and touched them and said,
“Get up, and don’t be afraid.”

ܘܐܪܝܡܘ ܥܝܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܚܙܘ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ

Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.

ܘܟܕ ܢܚܬܝܢ ܡܢ ܛܘܪܐ ܦܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܥܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܩܘܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܡܝܬܐ

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying,
“Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

ܘܫܐܠܘܗܝ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܣܦܪܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ
lwqdm dn'th' wl' d'ly' 'mryn spr' hkyl mn' lh w'mryn thlmydwhy wsh'lwhy
His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܠܝܐ ܐܬܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܕܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܢܫܠܡ

Jesus answered them,
“Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܗܐ ܐܠܝܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܘܗܝ ܘܥܒܕܘ ܒܗ ܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܨܒܘ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܕܢܚܫ ܡܢܗܘܢ
mnhwn dnkhsh ethyd d'nsh' brh 'p hkn' dtsbw m' kl bh webdw ydewhy wl' 'th' 'ly' dh' dyn lkwn 'n' 'mr
but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܣܬܟܠܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܥܠ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܡܥܡܕܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ

Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.

ܘܟܕ ܐܬܘ ܠܘܬ ܟܢܫܐ ܩܪܒ ܠܗ ܓܒܪܐ ܘܒܪܟ ܥܠ ܒܘܪܟܘܗܝ

When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, and saying,

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܪܝ ܐܬܪܚܡ ܥܠܝ ܒܪܝ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܒܪ ܐܓܪܐ ܘܒܝܫܐܝܬ ܥܒܝܕ ܟܡܐ ܓܝܪ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܢܦܠ ܘܟܡܐ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܒܡܝܐ

“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

ܘܩܪܒܬܗ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܝܟ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܠܡܐܣܝܘܬܗ

So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܘܢ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܘܡܥܩܠܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܐܗܘܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܐܣܝܒܪܟܘܢ ܐܝܬܝܗܝ ܠܝ ܠܟܐ

Jesus answered,
“Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”

ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܢܦܩ ܡܢܗ ܫܐܕܐ ܘܐܬܐܣܝ ܛܠܝܐ ܡܢ ܗܝ ܫܥܬܐ

Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܩܪܒܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܠܡܢܐ ܚܢܢ ܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܢ ܠܡܐܣܝܘܬܗ
lm'sywthh 'shkkhn l' khnn lmn' lh w'mrw blkhwdwhy yshwe lwth thlmyd' qrbw hydyn
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܛܠ ܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܦܪܕܬܐ ܕܚܪܕܠܐ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܫܢܐ ܡܟܐ ܘܢܫܢܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܢܚܣܢܟܘܢ

He said to them,
“Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

ܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܓܢܣܐ ܠܐ ܢܦܩ ܐܠܐ ܒܨܘܡܐ ܘܒܨܠܘܬܐ

But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”

ܟܕ ܡܬܗܦܟܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܒܓܠܝܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܥܬܝܕ ܗܘ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܕܢܫܬܠܡ ܒܐܝܕܝ ܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bny b'ydy dnshthlm d'nsh' brh hw ethyd yshwe lhwn 'mr bglyl' dyn mthhpkyn kd
While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them,
“The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,

ܘܢܩܛܠܘܢܝܗܝ ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܬܠܬܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܘܟܪܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܛܒ
Tb lhwn wkryth nqwm dthlth' wlywm' wnqTlwnyhy
and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.”
They were exceedingly sorry.

ܘܟܕ ܐܬܘ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܩܪܒܘ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܢܣܒܝܢ ܬܪܝܢ ܬܪܝܢ ܙܘܙܝܢ ܕܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܠܘܬ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܪܒܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܝܗܒ ܬܪܝܢ ܙܘܙܘܗܝ

When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܢ ܘܟܕ ܥܠ ܟܐܦܐ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܩܕܡܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܢܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܠܟ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܡܠܟܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܡܢ ܡܢ ܢܣܒܝܢ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܗܘܢ ܐܘ ܡܢ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ

He said, “Yes.”
When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying,
“What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܡܢ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܕܝܢ ܒܢܝ ܚܐܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ
bny' 'nwn kh'r' bny mdyn yshwe lh 'mr nwkry' mn shmewn lh 'mr
Peter said to him, “From strangers.”
Jesus said to him,
“Therefore the children are exempt.

ܕܠܐ ܕܝܢ ܢܟܫܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܙܠ ܠܝܡܐ ܘܐܪܡܐ ܒܠܘܥܐ ܘܢܘܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܣܠܩ ܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܬܫܟܚ ܐܣܬܪܐ ܗܝ ܣܒ ܘܗܒ ܚܠܦܝ ܘܚܠܦܝܟ
wkhlpyk khlpy whb sb hy 'sthr' wthshkkh pwmh pthkh dslq qdmy' wnwn' blwe' w'rm' lym' zl 'nwn nkshl dyn dl'
But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin.
Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
