ܒܗܘ ܙܒܢܐ ܡܗܠܟ ܗܘܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܒܝܬ ܙܪܥܐ ܘܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܟܦܢܘ ܘܫܪܝܘ ܡܠܓܝܢ ܫܒܠܐ ܘܐܟܠܝܢ

At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.

ܦܪܝܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܚܙܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܗܐ ܬܠܡܝܕܝܟ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܫܠܝܛ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܒܫܒܬܐ
bshbth' lmebd shlyT dl' mdm ebdyn thlmydyk h' lh 'mryn 'nwn khzw kd dyn prysh'
But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܟܕ ܟܦܢ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܗ

But he said to them,
“Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܥܠ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܚܡܐ ܕܦܬܘܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܟܠ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܫܠܝܛ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܘܠܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܠܟܗܢܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ
blkhwd lkhn' 'n 'l' demh l'ylyn wl' lm'kl lh hw' shlyT dl' hw 'kl dmry' dpthwrh wlkhm' d'lh' lbyth' el 'ykn'
how he entered into God’s house, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests?

ܐܘ ܠܐ ܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܒܐܘܪܝܬܐ ܕܟܗܢܐ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܡܚܠܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܫܒܬܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܥܕܠܝ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn edly wdl' lshbth' lh mkhlyn bhykl' dkhn' b'wryth' qrythwn l' 'w
Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܪܒ ܡܢ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܪܟܐ
hrk' 'yth hykl' mn drb dyn lkwn 'n' 'mr
But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.

ܐܠܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܢܘ ܚܢܢܐ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܕܒܚܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܚܝܒܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܕܠܐ ܥܕܠܝ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn edly ddl' l'ylyn hwythwn mkhybyn l' dbkhth' wl' 'n' tsb' khnn' mnw hwythwn ydeyn dyn 'lw
But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’
you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.

ܡܪܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ
d'nsh' brh 'ythwhy dshbth' gyr mrh
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

ܘܫܢܝ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܬܐ ܠܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ
lknwshthhwn w'th' yshwe thmn mn wshny
He departed there, and went into their synagogue.

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܕܝܒܝܫܐ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܡܫܐܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܢ ܫܠܝܛ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܠܡܐܣܝܘ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܐܟܠܘܢ ܩܪܨܘܗܝ

And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” that they might accuse him.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܘ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܥܪܒܐ ܚܕ ܘܐܢ ܢܦܠ ܒܚܒܪܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܠܐ ܐܚܕ ܘܡܩܝܡ ܠܗ

He said to them,
“What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it, and lift it out?

ܟܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܬܝܪ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܥܪܒܐ ܡܕܝܢ ܫܠܝܛ ܗܘ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܫܦܝܪ
dshpyr lmebd bshbth' hw shlyT mdyn erb' mn brnsh' ythyr dyn km'
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܦܫܘܛ ܐܝܕܟ ܘܦܫܛ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܬܩܢܬ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܪܬܗ
khbrthh 'yk wthqnth 'ydh wpshT 'ydk pshwT gbr' lhw 'mr hydyn
Then he told the man,
“Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܦܪܝܫܐ ܘܡܠܟܐ ܢܣܒܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܘܒܕܘܢܝܗܝ

But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥ ܘܫܢܝ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܘܐܣܝ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ
lklhwn w'sy sgy'' knsh' bthrh w'zlw thmn mn lh wshny yde dyn yshwe
Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,

ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܓܠܘܢܝܗܝ

and commanded them that they should not make him known:

ܕܢܬܡܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܬܐܡܪ ܒܝܕ ܐܫܥܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܐܡܪ
d'mr nby' 'shey' byd d'th'mr mdm dnthml'
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

ܗܐ ܥܒܕܝ ܕܐܨܛܒܝܬ ܒܗ ܚܒܝܒܝ ܕܣܘܚܬ ܒܗ ܢܦܫܝ ܪܘܚܝ ܐܣܝܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܕܝܢܐ ܠܥܡܡܐ ܢܟܪܙ
nkrz lemm' wdyn' elwhy 'sym rwkhy npshy bh dswkhth khbyby bh d'tsTbyth ebdy h'
“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen;
my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased:
I will put my Spirit on him.
He will proclaim justice to the nations.

ܠܐ ܢܬܚܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܩܥܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܫܡܥ ܩܠܗ ܒܫܘܩܐ
bshwq' qlh nshme 'nsh wl' nqe' wl' nthkhr' l'
He will not strive, nor shout;
neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

ܩܢܝܐ ܪܥܝܥܐ ܠܐ ܢܬܒܪ ܘܫܪܓܐ ܕܡܛܦܛܦ ܠܐ ܢܕܥܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܦܩ ܕܝܢܐ ܠܙܟܘܬܐ
lzkwth' dyn' dnpq edm' ndek l' dmTpTp wshrg' nthbr l' reye' qny'
He won’t break a bruised reed.
He won’t quench a smoking flax,
until he leads justice to victory.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܩܪܒܘ ܠܗ ܕܝܘܢܐ ܚܕ ܕܚܪܫ ܘܥܘܝܪ ܘܐܣܝܗ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܚܪܫܐ ܘܣܡܝܐ ܢܡܠܠ ܘܢܚܙܐ
wnkhz' nmll wsmy' dkhrsh' 'ykn' w'syh wewyr dkhrsh khd dywn' lh qrbw hydyn
Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.

ܘܡܬܕܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܟܢܫܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܠܡܐ ܗܢܘ ܒܪܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ

All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”

ܦܪܝܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܢܐ ܠܐ ܡܦܩ ܫܐܕܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܒܥܠܙܒܘܒ ܪܫܐ ܕܕܝܘܐ

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥ ܡܚܫܒܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܠ ܡܠܟܘ ܕܬܬܦܠܓ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܬܚܪܒ ܘܟܠ ܒܝ ܘܡܕܝܢܐ ܕܢܬܦܠܓ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܠܐ ܢܩܘܡ
nqwm l' npshh el dnthplg wmdyn' by wkl thkhrb npshh el dththplg mlkw kl lhwn w'mr mkhshbthhwn yde dyn yshwe
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them,
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

ܘܐܢ ܣܛܢܐ ܠܣܛܢܐ ܡܦܩ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܬܦܠܓ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܩܝܡܐ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ
mlkwthh qym' hkyl 'ykn' 'thplg npshh el mpq lsTn' sTn' w'n
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

ܘܐܢ ܐܢܐ ܒܒܥܠܙܒܘܒ ܡܦܩ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܘܐ ܒܢܝܟܘܢ ܒܡܢܐ ܡܦܩܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢܐ
dyn' lkwn nhwwn hnwn hn' mTl lhwn mpqyn bmn' bnykwn dyw' 'n' mpq bbelzbwb 'n' w'n
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

ܘܐܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܦܩ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܘܐ ܩܪܒܬ ܠܗ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.

ܐܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܢܥܘܠ ܠܒܝܬ ܚܣܝܢܐ ܘܡܐܢܘܗܝ ܢܒܘܙ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܢܐܣܪܝܘܗܝ ܠܚܣܝܢܐ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܒܝܬܗ ܢܒܘܙ
nbwz bythh whydyn lkhsyn' n'srywhy lwqdm 'n 'l' nbwz wm'nwhy khsyn' lbyth dnewl mshkkh 'nsh 'ykn' 'w
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.

ܡܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܝ ܠܘܩܒܠܝ ܗܘ ܘܡܢ ܕܠܐ ܟܢܫ ܥܡܝ ܡܒܕܪܘ ܡܒܕܪ

“He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܚܛܗܝܢ ܘܓܘܕܦܝܢ ܢܫܬܒܩܘܢ ܠܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܓܘܕܦܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܠ ܪܘܚܐ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܒܩ ܠܒܢܝܢܫܐ
lbnynsh' nshthbq l' rwkh' del dyn gwdp' lbnynsh' nshthbqwn wgwdpyn khThyn dkl lkwn 'n' 'mr hn' mTl
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

ܘܟܠ ܡܢ ܕܢܐܡܪ ܡܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܢܫܬܒܩ ܠܗ ܟܠ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܠ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܢܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܒܩ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܕܥܬܝܕ
dethyd belm' wl' hn' belm' l' lh nshthbq l' n'mr dqwdsh' rwkh' del dyn kl lh nshthbq d'nsh' brh el mlth' dn'mr mn wkl
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.

ܐܘ ܥܒܕܘ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܘܦܐܪܘܗܝ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܐܘ ܥܒܕܘ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܘܦܐܪܘܗܝ ܒܝܫܐ ܡܢ ܦܐܪܘܗܝ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܬܝܕܥ ܐܝܠܢܐ
'yln' mthyde gyr hw p'rwhy mn bysh' wp'rwhy bysh' 'yln' ebdw 'w shpyr' wp'rwhy shpyr' 'yln' ebdw 'w
“Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.

ܝܠܕܐ ܕܐܟܕܢܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܛܒܬܐ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ ܕܒܝܫܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܬܘܬܪܝ ܠܒܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܡܠܠ ܦܘܡܐ
pwm' mmll gyr lb' thwthry mn 'nthwn dbysh' lmmllw Tbth' 'nthwn mshkkhyn 'ykn' d'kdn' yld'
You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

ܓܒܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܡܢ ܣܝܡܬܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܡܦܩ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܡܢ ܣܝܡܬܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܡܦܩ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' mpq byshth' symth' mn bysh' wgbr' Tbth' mpq Tbth' symth' mn Tb' gbr'
The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure
brings out evil things.

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܟܠ ܡܠܐ ܒܛܠܐ ܕܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܢܬܠܘܢ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ
ddyn' bywm' pthgmh nthlwn 'nsh' bny dn'mrwn bTl' ml' dkl gyr lkwn 'n' 'mr
I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

ܡܢ ܡܠܝܟ ܓܝܪ ܬܙܕܕܩ ܘܡܢ ܡܠܝܟ ܬܬܚܝܒ
ththkhyb mlyk wmn thzddq gyr mlyk mn
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܥܢܘ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܣܦܪܐ ܘܡܢ ܦܪܝܫܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܠܦܢܐ ܨܒܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܕܢܚܙܐ ܡܢܟ ܐܬܐ
'th' mnk dnkhz' khnn tsbyn mlpn' lh w'mryn prysh' wmn spr' mn 'nsh' enw hydyn
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܓܝܪܬܐ ܐܬܐ ܒܥܝܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܬܗ ܕܝܘܢܢ ܢܒܝܐ
nby' dywnn 'thh 'l' lh ththyhb l' w'th' bey' 'th' wgyrth' byshth' shrbth' lhwn w'mr en' dyn hw
But he answered them,
“An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܗܘܐ ܝܘܢܢ ܒܟܪܣܗ ܕܢܘܢܐ ܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܘܬܠܬܐ ܠܝܠܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܒܠܒܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܬܠܬܐ ܐܝܡܡܝܢ ܘܬܠܬܐ ܠܝܠܘܢ
lylwn wthlth' 'ymmyn thlth' d're' blbh d'nsh' brh nhw' hkn' lylwn wthlth' ywmyn thlth' dnwn' bkrsh ywnn dhw' gyr 'ykn'
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

ܓܒܪܐ ܢܝܢܘܝܐ ܢܩܘܡܘܢ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܥܡ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܢܚܝܒܘܢܗ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܬܒܘ ܒܟܪܘܙܘܬܗ ܕܝܘܢܢ ܘܗܐ ܕܪܒ ܡܢ ܝܘܢܢ ܬܢܢ
thnn ywnn mn drb wh' dywnn bkrwzwthh thbw dhnwn wnkhybwnh hd' shrbth' em bdyn' nqwmwn nynwy' gbr'
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

ܡܠܟܬܐ ܕܬܝܡܢܐ ܬܩܘܡ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܥܡ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܬܚܝܒܝܗ ܕܐܬܬ ܡܢ ܥܒܪܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܬܫܡܥ ܚܟܡܬܗ ܕܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܘܗܐ ܕܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܗܪܟܐ
hrk' shlymwn mn dythyr wh' dshlymwn khkmthh dthshme d're' ebryh mn d'thth wthkhybyh hd' shrbth' em bdyn' thqwm dthymn' mlkth'
The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.

ܐܡܬܝ ܕܝܢ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܬܦܘܩ ܡܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܬܟܪܟܐ ܒܐܬܪܘܬܐ ܕܡܝܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܒܥܝܐ ܢܝܚܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ
mshkkh' wl' nykh' wbey' bhwn lyth dmy' b'thrwth' mthkrk' brnsh' mn thpwq Tnpth' drwkh' dyn 'mthy
When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܐ ܐܗܦܘܟ ܠܒܝܬܝ ܡܢ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܢܦܩܬ ܘܐܬܝܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܕܣܪܝܩ ܘܚܡܝܡ ܘܡܨܒܬ
wmtsbth wkhmym dsryq mshkkh' w'thy' dnpqth 'yk' mn lbythy 'hpwk 'mr' hydyn
Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came out,’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܙܠܐ ܕܒܪܐ ܥܡܗ ܫܒܥ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܢ ܕܡܢܗ ܒܝܫܢ ܘܥܐܠܢ ܘܥܡܪܢ ܒܗ ܘܗܘܝܐ ܚܪܬܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܒܝܫܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܬܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܫܪܒܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' hd' lshrbth' lh nhw' hkn' qdmythh mn bysh' hw dgbr' khrthh whwy' bh wemrn we'ln byshn dmnh 'khrnyn rwkh' shbe emh dbr' 'zl' hydyn
Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”

ܟܕ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܡܠܠ ܠܟܢܫܐ ܐܬܘ ܐܡܗ ܘܐܚܘܗܝ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܠܒܪ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܕܢܡܠܠܘܢ ܥܡܗ
emh dnmllwn wbeyn lbr qymyn w'khwhy 'mh 'thw lknsh' mmll dyn hw kd
While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܗܐ ܐܡܟ ܘܐܚܝܟ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܠܒܪ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܕܢܡܠܠܘܢ ܥܡܟ
emk dnmllwn wbeyn lbr qymyn w'khyk 'mk h' 'nsh dyn lh 'mr
One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܡܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܗܝ ܐܡܝ ܘܡܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܚܝ
'khy 'nwn wmn 'my hy mn lh d'mr lmn w'mr en' dyn hw
But he answered him who spoke to him,
“Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”

ܘܦܫܛ ܐܝܕܗ ܠܘܬ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܐ ܐܡܝ ܘܗܐ ܐܚܝ

He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said,
“Behold, my mother and my brothers!
