ܘܩܪܐ ܠܬܪܥܣܪ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܥܠ ܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܕܢܦܩܘܢ ܘܠܡܐܣܝܘ ܟܠ ܟܐܒ ܘܟܘܪܗܢ

He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.

ܕܝܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܪܥܣܪ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܫܡܗܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܢܕܪܐܘܣ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܝܥܩܘܒ ܒܪ ܙܒܕܝ ܘܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܚܘܗܝ
'khwhy wywkhnn zbdy br wyeqwb 'khwhy w'ndr'ws k'p' dmthqr' shmewn qdmyhwn hlyn 'ythyhwn shmh' shlykh' dthresr dyn dylhwn
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;

ܘܫܡܥܘܢ ܩܢܢܝܐ ܘܝܗܘܕܐ ܣܟܪܝܘܛܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܫܠܡܗ

Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

ܠܗܠܝܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܫܕܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܦܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚܢܦܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܙܠܘܢ ܘܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܫܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ

Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying,
“Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.

ܙܠܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܘܬ ܥܪܒܐ ܕܐܒܕܘ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܝܣܪܝܠ
ysryl byth mn d'bdw erb' lwth ythyr'yth dyn lkwn zlw
Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

ܘܟܕ ܐܙܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܟܪܙܘ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܕܩܪܒܬ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ
dshmy' mlkwth' dqrbth w'mrw 'krzw 'nthwn 'zlyn wkd
As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’

ܟܪܝܗܐ ܐܣܘ ܘܓܪܒܐ ܕܟܘ ܘܕܝܘܐ ܐܦܩܘ ܡܓܢ ܢܣܒܬܘܢ ܡܓܢ ܗܒܘ
hbw mgn nsbthwn mgn 'pqw wdyw' dkw wgrb' 'sw kryh'
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers,
and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.

ܠܐ ܬܩܢܘܢ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܠܐ ܣܐܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܚܫܐ ܒܟܝܣܝܟܘܢ
bkysykwn nkhsh' wl' s'm' wl' dhb' thqnwn l'
Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.

ܘܠܐ ܬܪܡܠܐ ܠܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܬܝܢ ܟܘܬܝܢܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܣܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܛܐ ܫܘܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܦܥܠܐ ܣܝܒܪܬܗ
sybrthh pel' gyr hw shw' shbT' wl' msn' wl' kwthynyn thrthyn wl' l'wrkh' thrml' wl'
Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

ܠܐܝܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܐܘ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ ܫܐܠܘ ܡܢܘ ܫܘܐ ܒܗ ܘܬܡܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܦܩܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn dnpqyn edm' hww wthmn bh shw' mnw sh'lw lh 'nthwn de'lyn qryth' 'w mdynth' dyn l'yd'
Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.

ܘܡܐ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܫܐܠܘ ܫܠܡܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ

As you enter into the household, greet it.

ܘܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܫܘܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܫܠܡܟܘܢ ܢܐܬܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܫܠܡܟܘܢ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܢܦܢܐ
npn' elykwn shlmkwn shw' l' dyn 'n elwhy n'th' shlmkwn byth' dshw' hw w'n
If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.

ܡܢ ܕܠܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܩܒܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܡܠܝܟܘܢ ܟܕ ܢܦܩܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬܐ ܐܘ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܝ ܦܨܘ ܚܠܐ ܡܢ ܪܓܠܝܟܘܢ
rglykwn mn khl' ptsw hy qryth' mn 'w byth' mn 'nthwn npqyn kd mlykwn shme wl' lkwn mqbl dyn dl' mn
Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

ܘܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܣܕܘܡ ܘܕܥܡܘܪܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܢܝܚ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܐܘ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܗܝ
hy lmdynth' 'w ddyn' bywm' nykh nhw' wdemwr' dsdwm dl're' lkwn 'n' 'mr w'myn
Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܐܡܪܐ ܒܝܢܝ ܕܐܒܐ ܗܘܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܘܘܬܐ ܘܬܡܝܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܢܐ

“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܡܫܠܡܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܒܝܬ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܒܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ ܢܢܓܕܘܢܟܘܢ
nngdwnkwn wbknwshthhwn dyn' lbyth gyr lkwn mshlmyn bnynsh' mn dyn 'zdhrw
But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

ܘܩܕܡ ܗܓܡܘܢܐ ܘܡܠܟܐ ܡܩܪܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠܬܝ ܠܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܗܘܢ ܘܕܥܡܡܐ
wdemm' dylhwn lshdwth' mTlthy lkwn mqrbyn wmlk' hgmwn' wqdm
Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

ܐܡܬܝ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܫܠܡܘܢܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܐܨܦܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܘ ܡܢܐ ܬܡܠܠܘܢ ܡܬܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܗܝ ܫܥܬܐ ܡܐ ܕܬܡܠܠܘܢ
dthmllwn m' sheth' bhy gyr lkwn mthyhb thmllwn mn' 'w 'ykn' th'tspwn l' dnshlmwnkwn dyn 'mthy
But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܐܒܘܟܘܢ ܡܡܠܠܐ ܒܟܘܢ
bkwn mmll' d'bwkwn rwkh' 'l' mmllyn 'nthwn gyr hw' l'
For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

ܢܫܠܡ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܐ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܘܐܒܐ ܠܒܪܗ ܘܢܩܘܡܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܢܡܝܬܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wnmythwn 'bhyhwn el bny' wnqwmwn lbrh w'b' lmwth' l'khwhy 'kh' dyn nshlm
“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

ܘܬܗܘܘܢ ܣܢܝܐܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܠܢܫ ܡܛܠ ܫܡܝ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܣܝܒܪ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܚܪܬܐ ܗܘ ܢܚܐ
nkh' hw lkhrth' edm' dnsybr dyn 'yn' shmy mTl klnsh mn sny'yn wthhwwn
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

ܡܐ ܕܪܕܦܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܥܪܘܩܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐܚܪܬܐ ܐܡܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܬܫܠܡܘܢ ܐܢܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ
d'nsh' brh dn'th' edm' 'ysryl dbyth mdynth' klhyn 'nyn thshlmwn dl' lkwn 'n' 'mr gyr 'myn l'khrth' lkwn erwqw hd' bmdynth' dyn lkwn drdpyn m'
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.

ܠܝܬ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܪܒܗ ܘܠܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܗ

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

ܣܦܩ ܠܗ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܪܒܗ ܘܠܥܒܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܪܗ ܐܢ ܠܡܪܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܩܪܘ ܒܥܠܙܒܘܒ ܚܕ ܟܡܐ ܠܒܢܝ ܒܝܬܗ
bythh lbny km' khd belzbwb qrw dbyth' lmrh 'n mrh 'yk wlebd' rbh 'yk dnhw' lthlmyd' lh spq
It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul,
how much more those of his household!

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܠܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܡܕܡ ܕܟܣܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܓܠܐ ܘܕܡܛܫܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܝܕܥ
nthyde dl' wdmTshy nthgl' dl' dks' mdm gyr lyth mnhwn thdkhlwn hkyl l'
Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.

ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܐܘܡܪܘܗܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܢܗܝܪܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܕܒܐܕܢܝܟܘܢ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܟܪܙܘ ܥܠ ܐܓܪܐ
'gr' el 'krzw 'nthwn shmeyn db'dnykwn wmdm bnhyr' 'nthwn 'wmrwhy bkhshwk' lkwn 'n' d'mr mdm
What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܛܠܝܢ ܦܓܪܐ ܢܦܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܠܡܩܛܠ ܕܚܠܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܡܢ ܡܢ ܕܡܫܟܚ ܕܠܢܦܫܐ ܘܠܦܓܪܐ ܢܘܒܕ ܒܓܗܢܐ
bghn' nwbd wlpgr' dlnpsh' dmshkkh mn mn ythyr'yth dyn dkhlw lmqTl mshkkhyn l' dyn npsh' pgr' dqTlyn 'ylyn mn thdkhlwn wl'
Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

ܠܐ ܬܪܬܝܢ ܨܦܪܝܢ ܡܙܕܒܢܢ ܒܐܣܪ ܘܚܕܐ ܡܢܗܝܢ ܒܠܥܕ ܡܢ ܐܒܘܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܦܠܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ
're' el npl' l' 'bwkwn mn bled mnhyn wkhd' b'sr mzdbnn tspryn thrthyn l'
“Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin?
Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,

ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܡܢܐ ܕܪܫܟܘܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܝܢ
'nyn mnyn klhyn drshkwn mn' 'p dyn dylkwn
but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢ ܨܦܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܡܝܬܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn mythryn sgy'th' tspr' mn thdkhlwn hkyl l'
Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

ܟܠܢܫ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܢܘܕܐ ܒܝ ܩܕܡ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܐܘܕܐ ܒܗ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܒܝ ܕܒܫܡܝܐ
dbshmy' 'by qdm 'n' 'p bh 'wd' bnynsh' qdm by dnwd' hkyl klnsh
Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

ܡܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܟܦܘܪ ܒܝ ܩܕܡ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܐܟܦܘܪ ܒܗ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܒܝ ܕܒܫܡܝܐ

But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

ܠܐ ܬܣܒܪܘܢ ܕܐܬܝܬ ܕܐܪܡܐ ܫܝܢܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܕܐܪܡܐ ܫܝܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܚܪܒܐ
khrb' 'l' shyn' d'rm' 'thyth l' b're' shyn' d'rm' d'thyth thsbrwn l'
“Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.

ܐܬܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܦܠܘܓ ܓܒܪܐ ܥܠ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܒܪܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܡܗ ܘܟܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܚܡܬܗ
khmthh el wklth' 'mh el wbrth' 'bwhy el gbr' d'plwg gyr 'thyth
For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

ܘܒܥܠܕܒܒܘܗܝ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܒܢܝ ܒܝܬܗ
bythh bny dgbr' wbeldbbwhy
A man’s foes will be those of his own household.

ܡܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܐܒܐ ܐܘ ܐܡܐ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܕܠܝ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܝ ܘܡܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܒܪܐ ܐܘ ܒܪܬܐ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܕܠܝ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܝ

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

ܘܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܩܠ ܙܩܝܦܗ ܘܐܬܐ ܒܬܪܝ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܝ
ly shw' l' bthry w'th' zqyph shql dl' wkl
He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.

ܡܢ ܕܐܫܟܚ ܢܦܫܗ ܢܘܒܕܝܗ ܘܡܢ ܕܢܘܒܕ ܢܦܫܗ ܡܛܠܬܝ ܢܫܟܚܝܗ

He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

ܡܢ ܕܡܩܒܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܝ ܡܩܒܠ ܘܡܢ ܕܠܝ ܡܩܒܠ ܠܡܢ ܕܫܠܚܢܝ ܡܩܒܠ

He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

ܡܢ ܕܡܩܒܠ ܢܒܝܐ ܒܫܡ ܢܒܝܐ ܐܓܪܐ ܕܢܒܝܐ ܢܣܒ ܘܡܢ ܕܡܩܒܠ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܒܫܡ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܐܓܪܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܢܣܒ
nsb dzdyq' 'gr' zdyq' bshm zdyq' dmqbl wmn nsb dnby' 'gr' nby' bshm nby' dmqbl mn
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

ܘܟܠ ܕܡܫܩܐ ܠܚܕ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܙܥܘܪܐ ܟܣܐ ܕܩܪܝܪܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܒܫܡܐ ܕܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܘܒܕ ܐܓܪܗ
'grh nwbd dl' lkwn 'n' 'mr 'myn dthlmyd' bshm' blkhwd dqryr' ks' zewr' hlyn mn lkhd dmshq' wkl
Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”
