ܘܥܠ ܬܘܒ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܠܝܘܡܬܐ ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܕܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܘ
hw dbbyth' shmew wkd lywmth' lkprnkhwm yshwe thwb wel
When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house.

ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܟܚ ܐܚܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܦܠܐ ܩܕܡ ܬܪܥܐ ܘܡܡܠܠ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܡܠܬܐ

Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.

ܘܐܬܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܐܝܬܝܘ ܠܗ ܡܫܪܝܐ ܟܕ ܫܩܝܠܝܢ ܠܗ ܒܝܬ ܐܪܒܥܐ

Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.

ܘܕܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܠܡܬܩܪܒܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܠܩܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐܓܪܐ ܘܐܪܝܡܘ ܬܛܠܝܠܐ ܕܐܬܪ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܫܒܘܗ ܥܪܣܐ ܕܪܡܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܡܫܪܝܐ

When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.

ܟܕ ܚܙܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܗܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘ ܡܫܪܝܐ ܒܪܝ ܫܒܝܩܝܢ ܠܟ ܚܛܗܝܟ

Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic,
“Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܕܝܢ ܬܡܢ ܡܢ ܣܦܪܐ ܘܦܪܝܫܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܘܡܬܪܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ

But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

ܕܡܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܓܘܕܦܐ ܡܢܘ ܡܫܟܚ ܠܡܫܒܩ ܚܛܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܚܕ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' khd 'n 'l' khTh' lmshbq mshkkh mnw gwdp' mmll hn' dmn'
“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥ ܒܪܘܚܗ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܡܬܪܥܝܢ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܡܬܪܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܠܒܟܘܢ

Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them,
“Why do you reason these things in your hearts?

ܐܝܕܐ ܦܫܝܩܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܠܡܫܪܝܐ ܕܫܒܝܩܝܢ ܠܟ ܚܛܗܝܟ ܐܘ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܕܩܘܡ ܫܩܘܠ ܥܪܣܟ ܘܗܠܟ

Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’

ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܫܠܝܛ ܗܘ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܠܡܫܒܩ ܚܛܗܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܡܫܪܝܐ
lmshry' 'mr khTh' lmshbq b're' d'nsh' brh hw dshlyT dyn dthdewn
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—

ܠܟ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܩܘܡ ܫܩܘܠ ܥܪܣܟ ܘܙܠ ܠܒܝܬܟ

“I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”

ܘܩܡ ܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܘܫܩܠ ܥܪܣܗ ܘܢܦܩ ܠܥܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܢܬܕܡܪܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܫܒܚܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܟܕ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܚܙܝܢ ܗܟܢܐ

He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

ܘܢܦܩ ܬܘܒ ܠܘܬ ܝܡܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܐܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܡܠܦ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn hw' wmlp lwthh hww 'thyn knsh' wklh ym' lwth thwb wnpq
He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.

ܘܟܕ ܥܒܪ ܚܙܐ ܠܠܘܝ ܒܪ ܚܠܦܝ ܕܝܬܒ ܒܝܬ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܬܐ ܒܬܪܝ ܘܩܡ ܐܙܠ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh 'zl wqm bthry th' lh w'mr mks' byth dythb khlpy br llwy khz' ebr wkd
As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,
“Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.

ܘܗܘܐ ܕܟܕ ܣܡܝܟ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܚܛܝܐ ܣܡܝܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܡ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܥܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܓܝܪ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܒܬܪܗ

He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.

ܘܣܦܪܐ ܘܦܪܝܫܐ ܟܕ ܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܕܠܥܣ ܥܡ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܥܡ ܚܛܝܐ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܡܢܘ ܥܡ ܡܟܣܐ ܘܚܛܝܐ ܐܟܠ ܘܫܬܐ

The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”

ܟܕ ܫܡܥ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܣܢܝܩܝܢ ܚܠܝܡܐ ܥܠ ܐܣܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܝܫ ܒܝܫ ܥܒܝܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܕܐܩܪܐ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܚܛܝܐ
lkhTy' 'l' lzdyq' d'qr' 'thyth l' ebydyn bysh dbysh 'ylyn 'l' 'sy' el khlym' snyqyn l' lhwn 'mr yshwe dyn shme kd
When Jesus heard it, he said to them,
“Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܦܪܝܫܐ ܨܝܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܐܬܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܡܢܐ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܕܦܪܝܫܐ ܨܝܡܝܢ ܘܬܠܡܝܕܝܟ ܕܝܠܟ ܠܐ ܨܝܡܝܢ
tsymyn l' dylk wthlmydyk tsymyn wdprysh' dywkhnn thlmydwhy lmn' lh w'mryn w'thw hww tsymyn wprysh' dywkhnn dyn thlmydwhy
John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܡܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܒܢܘܗܝ ܕܓܢܘܢܐ ܟܡܐ ܕܚܬܢܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܢܨܘܡܘܢ ܠܐ
l' dntswmwn hw emhwn dkhthn' km' dgnwn' bnwhy mshkkhyn lm' yshwe lhwn 'mr
Jesus said to them,
“Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can’t fast.

ܢܐܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܡܐ ܕܐܫܬܩܠ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܚܬܢܐ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܢܨܘܡܘܢ ܒܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ
ywm' bhw ntswmwn hydyn khthn' mnhwn d'shthql dm' ywmth' dyn n'thwn
But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.

ܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܪܡܐ ܐܘܪܩܥܬܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܘܚܐܛ ܥܠ ܡܐܢܐ ܒܠܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܣܒܐ ܡܠܝܘܬܗ ܗܝ ܚܕܬܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܣܕܩܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ

No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.

ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܪܡܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܒܙܩܐ ܒܠܝܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܡܨܪܐ ܠܙܩܐ ܘܙܩܐ ܐܒܕܢ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܡܬܐܫܕ ܐܠܐ ܪܡܝܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܒܙܩܐ ܚܕܬܬܐ
khdthth' bzq' khdth' khmr' rmyn 'l' mth'shd wkhmr' 'bdn wzq' lzq' mtsr' khmr' dl' blyth' bzq' khdth' khmr' rm' 'nsh wl'
No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”

ܘܗܘܐ ܕܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܒܝܬ ܙܪܥܐ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܡܠܓܝܢ ܫܒܠܐ

He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields, and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܦܪܝܫܐ ܚܙܝ ܡܢܐ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܫܠܝܛ

The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܟܕ ܐܣܬܢܩ ܘܟܦܢ ܗܘ ܘܕܥܡܗ
wdemh hw wkpn 'sthnq kd dwyd ebd mn' qrythwn mmthwm l' yshwe lhwn 'mr
He said to them,
“Did you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry—he, and those who were with him?

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܥܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܟܕ ܐܒܝܬܪ ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܠܚܡܐ ܕܦܬܘܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܟܠ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܫܠܝܛ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܠܟܗܢܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܐܦ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܗ ܗܘܘ

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܬܒܪܝܬ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܛܠ ܫܒܬܐ

He said to them,
“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
