ܒܬܪ ܕܝܢ ܬܪܝܢ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܗܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܦܨܚܐ ܕܦܛܝܪܐ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܒܢܟܠܐ ܢܐܚܕܘܢ ܘܢܩܛܠܘܢܝܗܝ

It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܐ ܒܥܕܥܕܐ ܕܠܡܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܫܓܘܫܝܐ ܒܥܡܐ

For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot among the people.”

ܘܟܕ ܗܘ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܒܝܬ-ܥܢܝܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܓܪܒܐ ܟܕ ܣܡܝܟ ܐܬܬ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܥܠܝܗ ܫܛܝܦܬܐ ܕܒܣܡܐ ܕܢܪܕܝܢ ܪܫܝܐ ܣܓܝ ܕܡܝܐ ܘܦܬܚܬܗ ܘܐܫܦܥܬܗ ܥܠ ܪܫܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ

While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar, and poured it over his head.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܐܬܒܐܫ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܕܠܡܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܕܗܢܐ ܒܣܡܐ

But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, “Why has this ointment been wasted?

ܡܫܟܚ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܡܙܕܒܢܘ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܬܠܬܡܐܐ ܕܝܢܪܝܢ ܘܠܡܬܝܗܒܘ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܡܙܕܥܦܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܗ

For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii,
and given to the poor.” They grumbled against her.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܫܘܒܩܘܗ ܡܢܐ ܡܗܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ ܥܒܕܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܘܬܝ

But Jesus said,
“Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.

ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܓܝܪ ܡܣܟܢܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܘܐܡܬܝ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܐܝܬܝ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.

ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܗܕܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܘܩܕܡܬ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܩܒܘܪܬܐ ܒܣܡܬ ܓܘܫܡܝ
hw d'yth hw' lh lhd' ebdth wqdmth 'yk dlqbwrth' bsmth gwshmy
She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.

ܘܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܬܬܟܪܙ ܣܒܪܬܝ ܗܕܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܥܠܡܐ ܘܐܦ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܗܕܐ ܢܬܡܠܠ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܗ
w'myn 'mr 'n' lkwn dkl 'yk' dththkrz sbrthy hd' bklh elm' w'p mdm debdth hd' nthmll ldwkrnh
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.”

ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܣܟܪܝܘܛܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܐܙܠ ܠܘܬ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܫܠܡܝܘܗܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܝܫܘܥ

Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.

They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.

On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare that you may eat the Passover?”

He sent two of his disciples, and said to them,
“Go into the city, and there you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him,

ܘܠܐܝܟܐ ܕܥܐܠ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܡܪܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܪܒܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܝܟܘ ܒܝܬ ܡܫܪܝܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܟܘܠ ܥܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܝ ܦܨܚܐ

and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

ܘܗܐ ܡܚܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܠܝܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܡܫܘܝܐ ܘܡܛܝܒܐ ܬܡܢ ܬܩܢܘ ܠܢ

He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.”

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܫܟܚܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܛܝܒܘ ܦܨܚܐ

His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.

ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܪܡܫܐ ܐܬܐ ܥܡ ܬܪܥܣܪܬܗ

When it was evening he came with the twelve.

ܘܟܕ ܣܡܝܟܝܢ ܘܠܥܣܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܚܕ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܕܐܟܠ ܥܡܝ ܗܘ ܢܫܠܡܢܝ

As they sat and were eating, Jesus said,
“Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me.”

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܪܝܘ ܡܬܬܥܝܩܝܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܠܡܐ ܐܢܐ

They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, “Surely not I?” And another said, “Surely not I?”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܕܨܒܥ ܥܡܝ ܒܠܓܬܐ

He answered them,
“It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.

ܘܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܐܙܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܝ ܕܝܢ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܐܝܕܗ ܡܫܬܠܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܦܩܚ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܐܠܘ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܠܕ
wbrh d'nsh' 'zl 'ykn' dkthyb elwhy wy dyn lgbr' hw db'ydh mshthlm brh d'nsh' pqkh hw' lh lgbr' hw 'lw l' 'thyld
For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

ܘܟܕ ܗܢܘܢ ܠܥܣܝܢ ܢܣܒ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܒܪܟ ܘܩܨܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܒܘ ܗܢܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܦܓܪܝ

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said,
“Take, eat. This is my body.”

ܘܢܣܒ ܟܣܐ ܘܐܘܕܝ ܘܒܪܟ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܐܫܬܝܘ ܡܢܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ

He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܢܘ ܕܡܝ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܕܚܠܦ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܬܐܫܕ

He said to them,
“This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܝܠܕܐ ܕܓܦܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܗ ܐܫܬܝܘܗܝ ܚܕܬܐܝܬ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”

ܘܫܒܚܘ ܘܢܦܩܘ ܠܛܘܪ ܙܝܬܐ

When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܕܟܠܟܘܢ ܬܬܟܫܠܘܢ ܒܝ ܒܗܢܐ ܠܠܝܐ ܟܬܝܒ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܡܚܐ ܠܪܥܝܐ ܘܢܬܒܕܪܘܢ ܐܡܪܘܗܝ

Jesus said to them,
“All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

ܐܠܐ ܡܐ ܕܩܡܬ ܩܕܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܓܠܝܠܐ

However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܟܐܦܐ ܐܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܬܟܫܠܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܐܢܐ

But Peter said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܕܐܢܬ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܢܐ ܩܕܡ ܕܢܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ ܬܪܬܝܢ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܬܠܬ ܬܟܦܘܪ ܒܝ

Jesus said to him,
“Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܕܐܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܠܡܡܬ ܥܡܟ ܠܐ ܐܟܦܘܪ ܒܟ ܡܪܝ ܘܐܟܘܬܗ ܐܦ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܪܘ

But he spoke all the more, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.

ܘܐܬܘ ܠܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܝܐ ܓܕܣܡܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܬܒܘ ܗܪܟܐ ܥܕ ܡܨܠܐ ܐܢܐ

They came to a place which was named Gethsemane. He said to his disciples,
“Sit here, while I pray.”

ܘܕܒܪ ܥܡܗ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܘܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܫܪܝ ܠܡܬܟܡܪܘ ܘܠܡܬܬܥܩܘ

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܪܝܐ ܗܝ ܠܗ ܠܢܦܫܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܩܘܘ ܗܪܟܐ ܘܐܬܬܥܝܪܘ

He said to them,
“My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch.”

ܘܩܪܒ ܩܠܝܠ ܘܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܨܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܐܢ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܡܢܗ ܫܥܬܐ

He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܒܐ ܐܒܝ ܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܬ ܐܥܒܪ ܡܢܝ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܢܝ ܕܝܠܝ ܐܠܐ ܕܝܠܟ

He said,
“Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

ܘܐܬܐ ܐܫܟܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܡܟܬ ܠܟ ܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ ܚܕܐ ܫܥܐ ܠܡܬܬܥܪܘ

He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,
“Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?

ܐܬܬܥܝܪܘ ܘܨܠܘ ܕܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ ܠܢܣܝܘܢܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܨܒܝܐ ܘܡܛܝܒܐ ܐܠܐ ܦܓܪܐ ܟܪܝܗ

Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

ܘܐܙܠ ܬܘܒ ܨܠܝ ܘܗܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܡܪ

Again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words.

ܘܗܦܟ ܐܬܐ ܬܘܒ ܐܫܟܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܝܢܝܗܘܢ ܝܩܝܪܢ ܗܘܝ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܐ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܗ

Again he returned, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they didn’t know what to answer him.

ܘܐܬܐ ܕܬܠܬ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܡܟܘ ܡܟܝܠ ܘܐܬܬܢܝܚܘ ܡܛܬ ܚܪܬܐ ܘܐܬܬ ܫܥܬܐ ܘܗܐ ܡܫܬܠܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܒܐܝܕܝܗܘܢ ܕܚܛܝܐ

He came the third time, and said to them,
“Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

ܘܥܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܬܐ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܣܟܪܝܘܛܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܘܥܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܥܡ ܣܦܣܪܐ ܘܚܘܛܪܐ ܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܘܩܫܝܫܐ

Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him.

They laid their hands on him, and seized him.

ܚܕ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܫܡܛ ܣܝܦܐ ܘܡܚܝܗܝ ܠܥܒܕܗ ܕܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܫܩܠܗ ܐܕܢܗ

But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܠ ܓܝܣܐ ܢܦܩܬܘܢ ܒܣܝܦܐ ܘܒܚܘܛܪܐ ܕܬܐܚܕܘܢܢܝ

Jesus answered them,
“Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?

ܟܠܝܘܡ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܟܕ ܡܠܦ ܐܢܐ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܚܕܬܘܢܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܕܢܫܠܡܘܢ ܟܬܒܐ ܗܘܬ ܗܕܐ
klywm lwthkwn hwyth kd mlp 'n' bhykl' wl' 'khdthwnny 'l' dnshlmwn kthb' hwth hd'
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܫܒܩܘܗܝ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܥܪܩܘ

They all left him, and fled.

ܘܥܠܝܡܐ ܚܕ ܐܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܬܪܗ ܘܥܛܝܦ ܣܕܘܢܐ ܥܪܛܠ ܘܐܚܕܘܗܝ

A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,

but he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

ܘܐܘܒܠܘܗܝ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܠܘܬ ܩܝܦܐ ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܘܩܫܝܫܐ

They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him.

ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܐܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܬܪܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܘ ܕܪܬܐ ܕܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܝܬܒ ܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܘܫܚܢ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܢܘܪܐ

Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.

ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܟܢܫܗܘܢ ܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܢܡܝܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ

Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none.

ܟܕ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܣܗܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܫܘܝܢ ܗܘܝ ܣܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ

For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.

ܐܢܫܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܩܡܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܣܗܕܐ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ

Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying,

ܕܚܢܢ ܫܡܥܢܝܗܝ ܕܐܡܪ ܕܐܢܐ ܫܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܥܒܝܕ ܒܐܝܕܝܐ ܘܠܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܒܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܥܒܝܕ ܒܐܝܕܝܐ
dkhnn shmenyhy d'mr d'n' shr' 'n' hykl' hn' debyd b'ydy' wlthlth' ywmyn bn' 'n' 'khrn' dl' ebyd b'ydy'
“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”

ܘܐܦܠܐ ܕܝܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܫܘܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܣܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ

Even so, their testimony did not agree.

ܘܩܡ ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܒܡܨܥܬܐ ܘܫܐܠܗ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܡܦܢܐ ܐܢܬ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܡܢܐ ܡܣܗܕܝܢ ܥܠܝܟ ܗܠܝܢ

The high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܫܬܝܩ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܥܢܝܗܝ ܘܬܘܒ ܫܐܠܗ ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܡܒܪܟܐ
hw dyn shthyq hw' wmdm l' enyhy wthwb sh'lh rb khn' w'mr 'nth hw mshykh' brh dmbrk'
But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܬܚܙܘܢ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܕܝܬܒ ܡܢ ܝܡܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܥܠ ܥܢܢܝ ܫܡܝܐ

Jesus said,
“I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”

ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܨܪܐ ܟܘܬܝܢܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܢܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܡܬܒܥܝܢ ܠܢ ܣܗܕܐ

The high priest tore his clothes, and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?

ܗܐ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܓܘܕܦܐ ܡܢܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܘ ܕܚܝܒ ܗܘ ܡܘܬܐ

You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.

ܘܫܪܝܘ ܐܢܫܝܢ ܪܩܝܢ ܒܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܘܡܚܦܝܢ ܐܦܘܗܝ ܘܡܩܦܚܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܘܕܚܫܐ ܡܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܦܟܘܗܝ

Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.

ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܬܚܬ ܒܕܪܬܐ ܐܬܬ ܥܠܝܡܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܕܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ

As Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came,

and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus!”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܟܦܪ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪܐ ܐܢܬܝ ܘܢܦܩ ܠܒܪ ܠܣܦܐ ܘܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ

But he denied it, saying, “I neither know, nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.

The maid saw him, and began again to tell those who stood by, “This is one of them.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܬܘܒ ܟܦܪ ܘܒܬܪ ܩܠܝܠ ܬܘܒ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܢܬ ܐܦ ܓܝܪ ܓܠܝܠܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܘܡܡܠܠܟ ܕܡܐ

But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, “You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

But he began to curse, and to swear, “I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”

ܘܒܗ ܒܫܥܬܐ ܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ ܕܬܪܬܝܢ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܘܐܬܕܟܪ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܩܕܡ ܕܢܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ ܬܪܬܝܢ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܬܠܬ ܬܟܦܘܪ ܒܝ ܘܫܪܝ ܕܢܒܟܐ

The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him,
“Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.
