ܡܟܝܠ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܗܘ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ

“Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.

ܐܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܐܠܐ ܬܣܝܡܘܢ ܒܠܒܟܘܢ ܠܡܬܠ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܫܕܪ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܠܘ̈ܛܬܐ ܘܐܠܘܛ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܬܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܣܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܠܒܟܘܢ

If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.

ܗܐ ܓܥܪ ܐܢܐ ܒܙܪܥܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܕܪܐ ܦܪܬܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝܟܘܢ ܘܦܪܬܐ ܥܠ ܥܕܥܐ̈ܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܫܩܘܠܟܘܢ ܒܗ̇
bh w'shqwlkwn ede'dykwn el wprth' 'pykwn el prth' w'dr' d're' bzre' 'n' ger h'
Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.

ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܫܕܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܥܡ ܠܘܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ
khylthn' mry' 'mr lwy em dythq' dthhw' hn' pwqdn' lkwn dshdrth wthdewn
You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies.

ܩܝܡܝ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗ ܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܫܠܡܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܗ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܚܠ ܡܢܝ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܫܡܝ ܙܐܥ ܗܘܐ

“My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name.

ܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܦܘܡܗ ܘܥܘܠܐ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܟܚ ܒܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܘܒܬܪܝܨܘܬܐ ܗܠܟ ܥܡܝ ܘܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܐܗܦܟ ܡܢ ܥܘܠܐ

The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

ܡܛܠ ܕܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܕܟܗܢܐ ܢܛܪ̈ܢ ܐܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܢܡܘܣܐ ܫܐܠܝܢ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܠܐܟܗ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ

For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of Armies.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܣܛܝܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܐܟܫܠܬܘܢ ܠܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܡܢ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܘܚܒܠܬܘܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܕܠܘܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ
khylthn' mry' 'mr dlwy qym' wkhblthwn nmws' mn lsgy'' w'kshlthwn 'wrkh' mn sTythwn dyn 'nthwn
But you have turned away from the path. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies.

ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܝܗܒܬܟܘܢ ܫܝܛܝܢ ܘܡܟܝܟܝܢ ܒܟܠ ܥܡ ܥܠ ܕܠܐ ܢܛܪܬܘܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܝ ܘܢܣܒܬܘܢ ܒܐ̈ܦܐ ܒܢܡܘܣܐ

“Therefore I have also made you contemptible and wicked before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.

ܕܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܐܒܐ ܠܟܠܢ ܐܘ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܪܢ ܠܡܢܐ ܡܕܓܠܝܢܢ ܓܒܪ ܒܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܡܛܢܦܝܢܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܕܐ̈ܒܗܝܢ
d'bhyn qym' wmTnpynn b'khwhy gbr mdglynn lmn' brn 'lh' khd hw' l' 'w lkln 'b' khd hw' l' dlm'
Don’t we all have one father? Hasn’t one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

ܕܓܠ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܐܬܥܒܕܬ ܒܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܡܛܠ ܕܛܢܦ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܩܘܕܫܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܪܚܡ ܘܦܠܚ ܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ

Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

ܢܘܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܗܕܐ ܘܠܒܪܗ ܘܠܒܪ ܒܪܗ ܡܢ ܡܫܟܢܗ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܡܩܪܒ ܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ
khylthn' lmry' qwrbn' dmqrb lh nhw' wl' dyeqwb mshknh mn brh wlbr wlbrh hd' dnebd lgbr' mry' nwbd
Yahweh will cut off the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Armies.

ܘܗܕܐ ܐܚܪܬܐ ܕܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܟܣܝܬ ܕܡܥܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܟܬܐ ܘܬܢܚ̈ܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܦܢܐ ܥܠ ܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܩܒܠ ܠܗ ܠܨܒܝܢܐ ܡܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܟܘܢ
'ydykwn mn ltsbyn' lh mqbl wl' qwrbnykwn el mthpn' dl' mTl wthnkhth' wbkth' dmry' lbythh dmeth' ksyth debdthwn 'khrth' whd'
“This again you do: you cover Yahweh’s altar with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.

ܘܐܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܠ ܡܢܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܣܗܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܝܢܝܟ ܠܐܢܬܬ ܛܠܝܘܬܟ ܕܐܢܬ ܕܓܠܬ ܒܗ̇ ܘܗܝ ܫܘܬܦܬܟ ܘܐܢܬܬ ܩܝܡܟ

Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.

ܕܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܓܒܪ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܪ̈ܘܚܬܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܗܘ ܚܕ ܒܥܐ ܙܪܥܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܒܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܘܐܢܫ ܒܐܢܬܬ ܛܠܝܘܬܗ ܠܐ ܢܕܓܠ
ndgl l' Tlywthh b'nthth w'nsh brwkhkwn 'zdhrw 'lh' mn zre' be' khd hw dylh drwkhth' wshrk' gbr khd hw' l' dlm'
Did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܥܘܠܐ ܒܡܪܛܘܛܗ ܠܐ ܢܟܣܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܒܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܓܠܘܢ
thdglwn wl' brwkhkwn 'zdhrw khylthn' mry' 'mr nks' l' bmrTwTh wewl' d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' 'mr
One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, “covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies. “Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

ܐܠܐܝܬܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܒܦܬ̈ܓܡܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܡܢܐ ܐܠܐܝܢܝܗܝ ܒܕܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܕܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܫܦܝܪ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܨܒܐ ܘܐܠܐ ܐܝܟܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܕܐܢ ܕܝ̈ܢܐ
dyn' dd'n 'lh' 'ykw w'l' tsb' hw wbhwn mry' beyny shpyr dbysh debd dkl 'nthwn bd'mryn 'l'ynyhy bmn' 'nthwn 'mryn w'n bpthgmykwn lmry' 'l'ythwn
You have wearied Yahweh with your words. Yet you say, ‘How have we wearied him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in Yahweh’s sight, and he delights in them;’ or ‘Where is the God of justice?’
