Soon afterwards, he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of God’s Kingdom. With him were the twelve,

and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others; who served them from their possessions.

ܘܟܕ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܟܢܫ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܢ ܟܠ ܡܕܝܢܢ ܐܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܐܡܪ ܒܡܬܠܐ

When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable.

ܢܦܩ ܙܪܘܥܐ ܠܡܙܪܥ ܙܪܥܗ ܘܟܕ ܙܪܥ ܐܝܬ ܕܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܝܕ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܐܬܕܝܫ ܘܐܟܠܬܗ ܦܪܚܬܐ

“The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.

ܘܐܚܪܢܐ ܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܫܘܥܐ ܘܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܝܥܐ ܘܕܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܬܠܝܠܘܬܐ ܝܒܫ
w'khrn' npl el shwe' wbr shethh ye' wdlyth hw' lh thlylwth' ybsh
Other seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

ܘܐܚܪܢܐ ܢܦܠ ܒܝܬ ܟܘܒܐ ܘܝܥܘ ܥܡܗ ܟܘܒܐ ܘܚܢܩܘܗܝ

Other fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it, and choked it.

ܘܐܚܪܢܐ ܢܦܠ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܫܦܝܪܬܐ ܘܝܥܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܦܐܪܐ ܚܕ ܒܡܐܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܕ ܐܡܪ ܩܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܡܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܐܕܢܐ ܕܢܫܡܥ ܢܫܡܥ

Other fell into the good ground, and grew, and produced one hundred times as much fruit.” As he said these things, he called out,
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܘ ܝܗܝܒ ܠܡܕܥ ܐܪܙܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܪܟܐ ܒܦܠܐܬܐ ܡܬܐܡܪ ܕܟܕ ܚܙܝܢ ܠܐ ܢܚܙܘܢ ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܠܐ ܢܣܬܟܠܘܢ
hw dyn 'mr lhwn lkwn hw yhyb lmde 'rz' dmlkwthh d'lh' lhnwn dyn shrk' bpl'th' mth'mr dkd khzyn l' nkhzwn wkd shmeyn l' nsthklwn
He said,
“To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

ܗܢܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܠܐ ܙܪܥܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܠ ܝܕ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܒܥܠܕܒܒܐ ܫܩܠ ܡܠܬܐ ܡܢ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܘܢܚܘܢ
hnwn dyn del yd 'wrkh' 'ythyhwn hnwn dshmeyn mlth' w'th' beldbb' shql mlth' mn lbhwn dl' nhymnwn wnkhwn
Those along the road are those who hear, then the devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.

ܗܠܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܠ ܫܘܥܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܡܐ ܕܫܡܥܘ ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܡܩܒܠܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܡܠܬܐ ܘܥܩܪܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܕܙܒܢܐ ܗܝ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܒܙܒܢ ܢܣܝܘܢܐ ܡܬܟܫܠܝܢ
hlyn dyn del shwe' hlyn 'nwn dm' dshmew bkhdwth' mqblyn lh lmlth' weqr' lyth lhwn 'l' dzbn' hy hymnwthhwn wbzbn nsywn' mthkshlyn
Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܦܠ ܒܝܬ ܟܘܒܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܒܨܦܬܐ ܘܒܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܒܪܓܝܓܬܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܡܬܚܢܩܝܢ ܘܦܐܪܐ ܠܐ ܝܗܒܝܢ
hw dyn dnpl byth kwb' hlyn 'nwn 'ylyn dshmeyn mlth' wbtspth' wbewthr' wbrgygthh delm' mthkhnqyn wp'r' l' yhbyn
That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܐܪܥܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܠܒܐ ܫܦܝܐ ܘܛܒܐ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܐܚܕܝܢ ܘܝܗܒܝܢ ܦܐܪܐ ܒܡܣܝܒܪܢܘܬܐ
hw dyn db're' Tbth' hlyn 'nwn 'ylyn dblb' shpy' wTb' shmeyn mlth' w'khdyn wyhbyn p'r' bmsybrnwth'
Those in the good ground, these are those who with an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and produce fruit with perseverance.

ܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܗܪ ܫܪܓܐ ܘܡܚܦܐ ܠܗ ܒܡܐܢܐ ܐܘ ܣܐܡ ܠܗ ܬܚܝܬ ܥܪܣܐ ܐܠܐ ܣܐܡ ܠܗ ܠܥܠ ܡܢ ܡܢܪܬܐ ܕܟܠ ܕܥܐܠ ܢܚܙܐ ܢܘܗܪܗ
l' 'nsh mnhr shrg' wmkhp' lh bm'n' 'w s'm lh thkhyth ers' 'l' s'm lh lel mn mnrth' dkl de'l nkhz' nwhrh
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.

ܠܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܡܕܡ ܕܟܣܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܓܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܕܡܛܫܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܝܕܥ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܠܓܠܝܐ
lyth gyr mdm dks' dl' nthgl' wl' dmTshy dl' nthyde wn'th' lgly'
For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.

ܚܙܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܓܝܪ ܢܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܘܡܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܐܦ ܗܘ ܕܣܒܪ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܢܫܬܩܠ ܡܢܗ
khzw 'ykn' shmethwn mn d'yth lh gyr nthyhb lh wmn dlyth lh 'p hw dsbr d'yth lh nshthql mnh
Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

ܐܬܘ ܕܝܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܐܡܗ ܘܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܢܡܠܠܘܢ ܥܡܗ ܡܛܠ ܟܢܫܐ

His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.

ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܐܡܟ ܘܐܚܝܟ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܠܒܪ ܘܨܒܝܢ ܠܡܚܙܝܟ

Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܝ ܘܐܚܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܗ
hw dyn en' w'mr lhwn hlyn 'nwn 'my w'khy 'ylyn dshmeyn mlth' d'lh' webdyn lh
But he answered them,
“My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.”

ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܚܕ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܣܠܩ ܝܫܘܥ ܝܬܒ ܒܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܢܥܒܪ ܠܗܘ ܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܬܐ
hw' dyn bkhd mn ywmth' slq yshwe ythb bspynth' hw wthlmydwhy w'mr lhwn nebr lhw ebr' dymth'
Now on one of those days, he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them,
“Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.

ܘܟܕ ܪܕܝܢ ܕܡܟ ܠܗ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܗܘܬ ܥܠܥܠܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܒܝܡܬܐ ܘܩܪܝܒܐ ܗܘܬ ܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܠܡܛܒܥ

But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.

ܘܩܪܒܘ ܐܥܝܪܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܪܒܢ ܪܒܢ ܐܒܕܝܢܢ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܩܡ ܘܟܐܐ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܘܒܡܚܫܘܠܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܘܢܚܘ ܘܗܘܐ ܫܠܝܐ
wqrbw 'eyrwhy w'mryn lh rbn rbn 'bdynn hw dyn qm wk'' brwkh' wbmkhshwl' dym' wnkhw whw' shly'
They came to him, and awoke him, saying, “Master, master, we are dying!” He awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟܐ ܗܝ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܕܚܝܠܝܢ ܡܬܕܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܡܢܘ ܟܝ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܦܩܕ ܘܠܡܚܫܘܠܐ ܘܠܝܡܐ ܘܡܫܬܡܥܝܢ ܠܗ

He said to them,
“Where is your faith?” Being afraid they marveled, saying to one another, “Who is this then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”

ܘܪܕܘ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܕܓܕܪܝܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܓܠܝܠܐ

They arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.

ܘܟܕ ܢܦܩ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܦܓܥ ܒܗ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܕܝܘܐ ܡܢ ܙܒܢܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܘܡܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܠܒܫ ܗܘܐ ܘܒܒܝܬܐ ܠܐ ܥܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ

When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs.

ܟܕ ܚܙܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܩܥܐ ܘܢܦܠ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܒܩܠܐ ܪܡܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܐ ܠܢ ܘܠܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܪܝܡܐ ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟ ܠܐ ܬܫܢܩܢܝ

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”

ܦܩܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܓܝܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܐ ܠܡܦܩ ܡܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܣܓܝ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܙܒܢܐ ܡܢ ܕܫܒܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܘܡܬܐܣܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܫܫܠܬܐ ܘܒܟܒܠܐ ܡܬܢܛܪ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܦܣܩ ܗܘܐ ܐܣܘܪܘܗܝ ܘܡܬܕܒܪ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܫܐܕܐ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ

For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.

ܫܐܠܗ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܢ ܫܡܟ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܠܓܝܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܝܘܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܥܠܝܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܗ

Jesus asked him,
“What is your name?”
He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.

ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ ܕܠܐ ܢܦܩܘܕ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܐܙܠ ܠܬܗܘܡܐ

They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܬܡܢ ܒܩܪܐ ܕܚܙܝܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܪܥܝܐ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ ܕܢܦܣ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܚܙܝܪܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܘܐܦܣ ܠܗܘܢ
'yth hw' dyn thmn bqr' dkhzyr' sgy'' drey' bTwr' wbeyn hww mnh dnps lhwn dbkhzyr' nelwn w'ps lhwn
Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܫܐܕܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܘܥܠܘ ܒܚܙܝܪܐ ܘܬܪܨܬ ܒܩܪܐ ܗܝ ܟܠܗ ܠܫܩܝܦܐ ܘܢܦܠܘ ܒܝܡܬܐ ܘܐܬܚܢܩܘ
wnpqw sh'd' mn gbr' welw bkhzyr' wthrtsth bqr' hy klh lshqyp' wnplw bymth' w'thkhnqw
The demons came out of the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned.

ܟܕ ܚܙܘ ܕܝܢ ܪܥܘܬܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܪܩܘ ܘܐܫܬܥܝܘ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܒܩܘܪܝܐ

When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܢܚܙܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܗܘܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܫܟܚܘܗܝ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܢܦܩܘ ܫܐܕܘܗܝ ܟܕ ܠܒܝܫ ܘܡܢܟܦ ܘܝܬܒ ܠܘܬ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܘܕܚܠܘ

People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

ܘܐܫܬܥܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܙܘ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܬܐܣܝ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܘܢܐ

Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.

ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ ܟܠܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܕܓܕܪܝܐ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܐܚܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܣܠܩ ܠܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܘܗܦܟ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ

All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. He entered into the boat, and returned.

But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

ܗܦܘܟ ܠܒܝܬܟ ܘܐܫܬܥܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܙܠ ܘܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ

“Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you.” He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

ܟܕ ܗܦܟ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܩܒܠܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܗ ܚܝܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ

When Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܕܫܡܗ ܝܘܐܪܫ ܪܝܫ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܢܦܠ ܩܕܡ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗ ܕܢܥܘܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ

Behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged him to come into his house,

ܒܪܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܝܚܝܕܝܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܬ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܪܬܥܣܪܐ ܘܩܪܝܒܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܡܡܬ ܘܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܥܡܗ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܚܒܨ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ

for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.

ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܚܕܐ ܕܬܪܝܥ ܗܘܐ ܕܡܗ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܪܬܥܣܪܐ ܗܝ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܣܘܬܐ ܟܠܗ ܩܢܝܢܗ ܐܦܩܬ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ ܕܡܢ ܐܢܫ ܬܬܐܣܐ

A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any,

ܐܬܩܪܒܬ ܡܢ ܒܣܬܪܗ ܘܩܪܒܬ ܠܟܢܦܐ ܕܡܐܢܗ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܩܡܬ ܡܪܕܝܬܐ ܕܕܡܗ
'thqrbth mn bsthrh wqrbth lknp' dm'nh wmkhd' qmth mrdyth' ddmh
came behind him, and touched the fringe of his cloak, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped.

ܘܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܢܘ ܩܪܒ ܠܝ ܘܟܕ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܟܦܪܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܕܥܡܗ ܪܒܢ ܟܢܫܐ ܐܠܨܝܢ ܠܟ ܘܚܒܨܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܘ ܩܪܒ ܠܝ

Jesus said,
“Who touched me?”
When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say,
‘Who touched me?’”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܫ ܩܪܒ ܠܝ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܝܕܥܬ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܢܦܩ ܡܢܝ
hw dyn 'mr 'nsh qrb ly 'n' gyr ydeth dkhyl' npq mny
But Jesus said,
“Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”

ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܕ ܚܙܬ ܕܠܐ ܛܥܬܗ ܐܬܬ ܟܕ ܪܬܝܬܐ ܘܢܦܠܬ ܣܓܕܬ ܠܗ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܥܝܢ ܥܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܐܝܕܐ ܥܠܬܐ ܩܪܒܬ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܚܕܐ ܐܬܐܣܝܬ

When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܬܠܒܒܝ ܒܪܬܝ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܝ ܐܚܝܬܟܝ ܙܠܝ ܒܫܠܡܐ

He said to her,
“Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

ܘܥܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܪܒ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܝܬܬ ܠܗ ܒܪܬܟ ܠܐ ܬܥܡܠ ܠܡܠܦܢܐ
wed hw mmll 'th' 'nsh mn dbyth rb knwshth' w'mr lh mythth lh brthk l' theml lmlpn'
While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܐܒܘܗ ܕܛܠܝܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܗܝܡܢ ܘܚܝܐ

But Jesus hearing it, answered him,
“Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”

ܐܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܠܐܢܫ ܕܢܥܘܠ ܥܡܗ ܐܠܐ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܠܐܒܘܗ ܕܛܠܝܬܐ ܘܠܐܡܗ
'th' dyn yshwe lbyth' wl' shbq l'nsh dnewl emh 'l' lshmewn wlyeqwb wlywkhnn wl'bwh dTlyth' wl'mh
When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܒܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܡܪܩܕܝܢ ܥܠܝܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܬܒܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܝܬܬ ܐܠܐ ܕܡܟܐ ܗܝ

All were weeping and mourning her, but he said,
“Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”

ܘܓܚܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܕܡܝܬܬ ܠܗ

They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܦܩ ܠܟܠܢܫ ܠܒܪ ܘܐܚܕܗ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܩܪܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܛܠܝܬܐ ܩܘܡܝ

But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying,
“Child, arise!”

ܘܗܦܟܬ ܪܘܚܗ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܩܡܬ ܘܦܩܕ ܕܢܬܠܘܢ ܠܗ ܠܡܐܟܠ

Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.

ܘܬܡܗܘ ܐܒܗܝܗ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܙܗܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܠܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ

Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.
