ܩܪܝܒ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܕܥܕܐ ܕܦܛܝܪܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܦܨܚܐ
ptskh' dmthqr' dpTyr' eded' dyn hw' qryb
Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.

ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܩܛܠܘܢܝܗܝ ܕܚܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ
em' mn gyr hww dkhlyn nqTlwnyhy d'ykn' wspr' khn' rby hww wbeyn
The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.

ܥܠ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܣܛܢܐ ܒܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܣܟܪܝܘܛܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܕܬܪܥܣܪ

Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.

ܘܐܙܠ ܡܠܠ ܥܡ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܘܪܒܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܗܝܟܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܫܠܡܝܘܗܝ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn dnshlmywhy 'yk dhykl' khyl' wrby wspr' khn' rby em mll w'zl
He went away, and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.

ܘܚܕܝܘ ܘܐܩܝܡܘ ܕܢܬܠܘܢ ܠܗ ܟܣܦܐ
ksp' lh dnthlwn w'qymw wkhdyw
They were glad, and agreed to give him money.

ܘܐܫܬܘܕܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܦܠܥܐ ܕܢܫܠܡܝܘܗܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܠܥܕ ܡܢ ܟܢܫܐ

He consented, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.

ܘܡܛܝ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܦܛܝܪܐ ܕܒܗ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܥܝܕܐ ܕܢܬܢܟܣ ܦܨܚܐ

The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.

ܘܫܕܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܙܠܘ ܛܝܒܘ ܠܢ ܦܨܚܐ ܕܢܠܥܣ

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,
“Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܐܝܟܐ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܬ ܕܢܛܝܒ

They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܐ ܡܐ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܦܓܥ ܒܟܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܫܩܝܠ ܓܪܒܐ ܕܡܝܐ ܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh zlw dmy' grb' dshqyl gbr' bkwn pge lmdynth' 'nthwn de'lyn m' h' lhwn 'mr
He said to them,
“Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.

ܘܐܝܟܐ ܕܥܐܠ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܡܪܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܪܒܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܝܢܘ ܒܝܬ ܡܫܪܝܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܟܘܠ ܦܨܚܐ ܥܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܝ

Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

ܘܗܐ ܗܘ ܡܚܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܠܝܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܡܫܘܝܐ ܬܡܢ ܛܝܒܘ
Tybw thmn dmshwy' rbth' khd' elyth' lkwn mkhw' hw wh'
He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”

ܘܐܙܠܘ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܛܝܒܘ ܦܨܚܐ
ptskh' wTybw lhwn d'mr 'yk 'shkkhw w'zlw
They went, found things as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܥܕܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܣܬܡܟ ܘܬܪܥܣܪ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܥܡܗ

When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܪܓܬܐ ܪܓܬܢܝ ܕܗܢܐ ܦܨܚܐ ܐܟܘܠ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܕܐܚܫ

He said to them,
“I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܟܝܠ ܠܐ ܐܟܠܝܘܗܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܫܠܡ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' bmlkwthh dnshlm edm' 'klywhy l' dmkyl gyr lkwn 'n' 'mr
for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”

ܘܢܣܒ ܟܣܐ ܘܐܘܕܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܣܒܘ ܗܢܐ ܘܦܠܓܘ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ
bynthkwn wplgw hn' sbw w'mr w'wdy ks' wnsb
He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said,
“Take this, and share it among yourselves,

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܝܠܕܐ ܕܓܦܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܐܬܐ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' mlkwth' dth'th' edm' dgpth' yld' mn 'shth' dl' lkwn gyr 'n' 'mr
for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”

ܘܢܣܒ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܐܘܕܝ ܘܩܨܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܢܘ ܦܓܪܝ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܡܬܝܗܒ ܗܕܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܝ
ldwkrny ebdyn hwythwn hd' mthyhb 'pykwn del pgry hnw w'mr lhwn wyhb wqts' w'wdy lkhm' wnsb
He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke, and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”

ܘܗܟܘܬ ܐܦ ܥܠ ܟܣܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܐܚܫܡܘ ܐܡܪ ܗܢܐ ܟܣܐ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܒܕܡܝ ܕܚܠܦܝܟܘܢ ܡܬܐܫܕ
mth'shd dkhlpykwn bdmy khdth' dythq' ks' hn' 'mr d'khshmw bthr mn ks' el 'p whkwth
Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

ܒܪܡ ܗܐ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܫܠܡܢܝ ܥܠ ܦܬܘܪܐ
pthwr' el dmshlmny 'ydh h' brm
But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.

ܘܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܐܙܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܬܦܪܫ ܒܪܡ ܘܝ ܠܗܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܒܐܝܕܗ ܡܫܬܠܡ
mshthlm db'ydh gbr' lhw wy brm d'thprsh 'ykn' 'zl d'nsh' wbrh
The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”

ܘܫܪܝܘ ܕܢܥܩܒܘܢ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܕܡܢܘ ܟܝ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܗܕܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܠܡܣܥܪ
lmser ethyd dhd' hw mnhwn ky dmnw bynthhwn dneqbwn wshryw
They began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing.

ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܚܪܝܢܐ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܐܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܕܪܒ
drb bhwn 'yth dmn bynthhwn khryn' 'p dyn hw'
There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܠܟܝܗܘܢ ܕܥܡܡܐ ܡܪܝܗܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܕܫܠܝܛܝܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܥܒܕܝ ܛܒܬܐ ܡܬܩܪܝܢ
mthqryn Tbth' ebdy elyhwn wdshlyTyn 'nwn mryhwn demm' mlkyhwn lhwn 'mr yshwe dyn hw
He said to them,
“The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܪܒ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܥܘܪܐ ܘܐܝܢܐ ܕܪܫܐ ܗܘ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܡܫܢܐ
mshmshn' 'yk hw drsh' w'yn' zewr' 'yk nhw' bkwn drb 'yn' 'l' hkn' l' dyn 'nthwn
But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.

ܡܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܪܒ ܗܘ ܕܣܡܝܟ ܐܘ ܗܘ ܕܡܫܡܫ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܘ ܕܣܡܝܟ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬܝ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܡܫܡܫ
dmshmsh hw 'yk bynthkwn 'ythy dyn 'n' dsmyk hw hw' l' dmshmsh hw 'w dsmyk hw rb gyr mnw
For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܟܬܪܬܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܒܢܣܝܘܢܝ
bnsywny lwthy dkthrthwn dyn 'nwn 'nthwn
But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.

ܘܐܢܐ ܡܫܬܘܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܫܬܘܕܝ ܠܝ ܐܒܝ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ
mlkwth' 'by ly d'shthwdy 'yk lkwn 'n' mshthwd' w'n'
I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,

ܕܬܐܟܠܘܢ ܘܬܫܬܘܢ ܥܠ ܦܬܘܪܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܘܬܬܒܘܢ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܘܬܐ ܘܬܕܘܢܘܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl shbT' thresr wthdwnwn kwrswth' el wththbwn dyly dmlkwth' pthwr' el wthshthwn dth'klwn
that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܗܐ ܣܛܢܐ ܫܐܠ ܕܢܥܪܘܒܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܚܛܐ
dlkhT' 'yk dnerwbkwn sh'l sTn' h' shmewn lshmewn yshwe w'mr
The Lord said,
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܥܝܬ ܥܠܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܬܚܣܪ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟ ܐܦ ܐܢܬ ܒܙܒܢ ܐܬܦܢܝ ܘܫܪܪ ܐܚܝܟ
'khyk wshrr 'thpny bzbn 'nth 'p hymnwthk thkhsr dl' elyk beyth w'n'
but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”

ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܪܝ ܥܡܟ ܡܛܝܒ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܒܝܬ ܐܣܝܪܐ ܘܠܡܘܬܐ
wlmwth' 'syr' wlbyth 'n' mTyb emk mry lh 'mr dyn shmewn
He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܠܬ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܬܟܦܘܪ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܠܝ

He said,
“I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܕ ܫܕܪܬܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܟܝܣܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܬܪܡܠܐ ܘܡܣܢܐ ܠܡܐ ܚܣܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܡܕܡ
mdm wl' lh 'mryn mdm lkwn khsr lm' wmsn' thrml' wdl' kys' dl' shdrthkwn kd lhwn w'mr
He said to them,
“When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?”
They said, “Nothing.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܡܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܟܝܣܐ ܢܣܒ ܘܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܬܪܡܠܐ ܘܡܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܣܝܦܐ ܢܙܒܢ ܢܚܬܗ ܘܢܙܒܢ ܠܗ ܣܝܦܐ

Then he said to them,
“But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.

ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܦ ܗܕܐ ܕܟܬܝܒܐ ܘܠܐ ܕܬܬܡܠܐ ܒܝ ܕܥܡ ܥܘܠܐ ܐܬܡܢܐ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܥܠܝ ܐܫܬܠܡ
'shthlm dely gyr klhyn 'thmn' ewl' dem by dththml' wl' dkthyb' hd' d'p gyr lkwn 'n' 'mr
For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’
For that which concerns me has an end.”

ܘܗܢܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܪܢ ܗܐ ܗܪܟܐ ܐܝܬ ܬܪܝܢ ܣܝܦܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܦܩܝܢ
spqyn lhwn 'mr sypyn thryn 'yth hrk' h' mrn lh 'mryn whnwn
They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.”
He said to them,
“That is enough.”

ܘܢܦܩ ܘܐܙܠ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܥܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܙܝܬܐ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ ܐܦ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ
thlmydwhy 'p bthrh w'zlw zyth' dbyth lTwr' hw' dmed 'yk w'zl wnpq
He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.

ܘܟܕ ܡܛܝ ܠܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܨܠܘ ܕܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ ܠܢܣܝܘܢܐ
lnsywn' thelwn dl' tslw lhwn 'mr ldwkth' mTy wkd
When he was at the place, he said to them,
“Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”

ܘܗܘ ܦܪܩ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܕܐ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܣܡ ܒܘܪܟܘܗܝ ܘܡܨܠܐ ܗܘܐ
hw' wmtsl' bwrkwhy wsm k'p' mshd' 'yk mnhwn prq whw
He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܒܐ ܐܢ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܬ ܢܥܒܪܢܝ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܪܡ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܕܝܠܟ ܢܗܘܐ
nhw' dylk 'l' tsbyny l' brm hn' ks' nebrny 'nth tsb' 'n 'b' w'mr
saying,
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

ܘܐܬܚܙܝ ܠܗ ܡܠܐܟܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܕܡܚܝܠ ܠܗ
lh dmkhyl shmy' mn ml'k' lh w'thkhzy
An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
44
ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܒܕܚܠܬܐ ܬܟܝܒܐܝܬ ܡܨܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܘܗܘܬ ܕܘܥܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܫܠܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܘܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ
're' el wnpl ddm' shlth' 'yk dwethh whwth hw' mtsl' thkyb'yth bdkhlth' hw' wkd
Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.

ܘܩܡ ܡܢ ܨܠܘܬܗ ܘܐܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܫܟܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܡܢ ܥܩܬܐ
eqth' mn dmkyn kd 'nwn w'shkkh thlmydwhy lwth w'th' tslwthh mn wqm
When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܩܘܡܘ ܨܠܘ ܕܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ ܠܢܣܝܘܢܐ
lnsywn' thelwn dl' tslw qwmw 'nthwn dmkyn mn' lhwn w'mr
and said to them,
“Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

ܘܥܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܗܐ ܟܢܫܐ ܘܗܘ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܐܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ ܘܩܪܒ ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܢܫܩܗ ܗܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܐ ܝܗܒ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܐܝܢܐ ܕܢܫܩ ܐܢܐ ܗܘܝܘ
hwyw 'n' dnshq d'yn' lhwn hw' yhb 'th' gyr hd' wnshqh yshwe lwth wqrb qdmyhwn 'th' thresr mn khd yhwd' dmthqr' whw knsh' h' mmll hw wed
While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܒܢܘܫܩܬܐ ܡܫܠܡ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ
d'nsh' lbrh lh 'nth mshlm bnwshqth' yhwd' yshwe lh 'mr
But Jesus said to him,
“Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”

ܟܕ ܚܙܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܗ ܡܕܡ ܕܗܘܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܪܢ ܢܡܚܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܣܝܦܐ
bsyp' 'nwn nmkh' mrn lh 'mryn dhw' mdm demh 'ylyn dyn khzw kd
When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”

ܘܡܚܐ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܠܥܒܕܗ ܕܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܢܣܒܗ ܐܕܢܗ ܕܝܡܝܢܐ
dymyn' 'dnh wnsbh khn' drb lebdh mnhwn khd wmkh'
A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

ܥܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܟܕܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܕܐ ܘܩܪܒ ܠܐܕܢܗ ܕܗܘ ܕܒܠܥ ܘܐܣܝܗ

But Jesus answered,
“Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear, and healed him.

Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him,
“Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?

ܟܠܝܘܡ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܘܫܛܬܘܢ ܥܠܝ ܐܝܕܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܫܥܬܟܘܢ ܘܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܚܫܘܟܐ

When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

ܘܐܚܕܘ ܐܝܬܝܘܗܝ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܫܡܥܘܢ ܐܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܬܪܗ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ

They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.

ܐܘܚܕܘ ܕܝܢ ܢܘܪܐ ܡܨܥܬ ܕܪܬܐ ܘܝܬܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܚܕܪܝܗ ܘܝܬܒ ܗܘܐ ܐܦ ܗܘ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ

When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.

A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܟܦܪ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ

He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”

ܘܒܬܪ ܩܠܝܠ ܚܙܝܗܝ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܦ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܢܬ ܟܐܦܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ

After a little while someone else saw him, and said, “You also are one of them!”
But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”

ܘܒܬܪ ܫܥܐ ܚܕܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܡܬܚܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܐܦ ܗܢܐ ܥܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܐܦ ܓܠܝܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ

After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”

ܐܡܪ ܟܐܦܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܟܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ

But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

ܘܐܬܦܢܝ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܚܪ ܒܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܬܕܟܪ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܩܕܡ ܕܢܩܪܐ ܬܪܢܓܠܐ ܬܟܦܘܪ ܒܝ ܬܠܬ ܙܒܢܝܢ

The Lord turned, and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him,
“Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܡܒܙܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܗ ܘܡܚܦܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ

The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.

ܘܡܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܐܦܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܡܢܘ ܡܚܟ

Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”

ܘܐܚܪܢܝܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܡܓܕܦܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ

They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.

ܘܟܕ ܢܓܗܬ ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܩܫܝܫܐ ܘܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܣܦܪܐ ܘܐܣܩܘܗܝ ܠܒܝܬ ܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ

As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܐܢ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢܢܝ

“If you are the Christ, tell us.”
But he said to them,
“If I tell you, you won’t believe,

ܘܐܢ ܐܫܐܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܡܦܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܐܘ ܫܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ
ly 'nthwn shryn 'w pthgm' ly 'nthwn mpnyn l' 'sh'lkwn w'n
and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.

ܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܝܬܒ ܡܢ ܝܡܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ
'n' d'n' 'nthwn 'mryn 'nthwn yshwe lhwn 'mr d'lh' brh hkyl hw 'nth klhwn dyn 'mryn
They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?”
He said to them,
“You say it, because I am.”
